Prairie Home Stitcher
Добавлен 1 авг 2024
This is a Flosstube channel where I have the pleasure of making stitchy friends, sharing my current projects, and exploring all the changes life brings. I am a stay at home mom to 3 kids and am currently residing on the American Prairie after moving from the Canadian Prairie. Cross stitching is probably my most consistent hobby, although I also love quilting, junk journaling, and crochet.

Prairie Home Stitcher #Flosstube Episode 1 - A New Channel
Your baby is so adorable.
Thank you!
I just found your channel and so glad i did.I felt if you don't do everything on linnen your not a real cross stitcher
Cross stitch helped me after I was critically injured in a car accident. My SIL gave me a kit for making tart tin Christmas ornaments. My glasses were smashed in accident, so I stitched without them. Stitching helped divert my mind from pain and the frustration of not being able to walk, cook, clean, and take care of our young daughters.
That's amazing!! What a difficult thing to go through.
Oh I so agree about Aida... now I've been stitching for 40 years and back then all I could find was Aida. I moved onto Jobelan and then linen but some patterns just fit better with Aida IMHO... I a BIG Prairie Schooler fan and stitching them on Aida is comfort stitching to me.... loved your WIP parade.. need to go through mine and pick out a couple to revisit.
I agree with the Prairie Schooler patterns. I can't imagine them stitched on anything else.
Fun video! Seeing all your projects and hearing your thoughts was very interesting. Don’t feel bad you have so many beautiful wips waiting for you to pick from and enjoy each and every one! 🪡🧵☮️❤️
Fact or Fiction is such a good show! I don’t understand some people’s snobbiness towards Aida. Like dude calm down. Just cause you don’t like it, doesn’t mean that it isn’t cross stitching. It’s the exact same thing just bigger.
I haven't watched fact or fiction. I'll go check it out. I also don't understand the bias against aida. It was literally invented for cross stitchers. We should appreciate it more.
@ it was the show that you’re movie clip was from. It has a longer name ‘Beyond Belief fact or fiction’ or something like that. People just want to be superior on something but they just look and sound ignorant.
❤🦉❤️🛎️
I am a New Subscriber. I have Subscribed to your Channel. I too have a Floss Tube Channel and it is Linda Klinedinst. Love all of your Projects. Very Pretty. Your Kids are so cute and adorable. Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🙏🧵🪡🧵❤️
Thanks for subbing!
Aidi is my favorite
Beautiful projects you have in WIPS. I have Christmas in July bag for Christmas WIPS. Be gentle on yourself you have time to stitch and not be stressed so you can enjoy your stitching.
Thank you, I will
I have missed you, but I completely understand what you went through with sickness during the holidays. I loved listening to your thought process as you picked up each project. Sometimes looking through our patterns/starts it brings that spark back to work on some or all of them. Thank you for showing Ben. He is absolutely priceless and now thank you prayers to God for his health.
He's an amazing baby! It's a scary road to walk, but we will get through it. God is good!
THANK YOU for talking positively about Aida fabric!!! I’ve bought a lot of Aida and supplies to learn how to cross stitch. Then while watching FlossTube I came across one or two that made me feel like I would never become a really good cross-stitcher unless I can do linen fabric. You have made me feel like I can become a “real“ cross-stitcher even if I only stitch on Aida !!! Thanks for your encouragement to a beginner ❤
There are two particular projects I completed using Aida that I can't imagine looking good on linen. I think the three big things for me that helped me love aida were: 1. It's Affordable 2. Using lower count Aida (16ct, 18ct) 3. Hand-dying my own Aida or using more natural/rustic types of Aida like fiddlers cloth, oatmeal, and flax. Bonus: There are some amazing dyed Aida out there that rival any linen. 123stitch.com is a great source!
And by the way, no matter what you stitch on or how long you've been stitching, you are a "real cross-stitcher". We are all just a bunch of people who stab x's into fabric haha!
Really enjoyed your video. Your baby is adorable.
Thank you so much!
I used to live in Edmonton many years ago! We still go back to see family. Nice video…looking forward to part 2.
It's a great city. I miss being up north.
That was fun! My favorites were the ones that you didn't remember what was in the bag. I can definitely relate! Thank you for sharing all of them. I enjoyed stitching with you and watching!
I'm glad you had fun. I had fun digging around. It's kind of like shopping, but with a little more guilt since some of the projects are old lol.
Loved seeing you're your WHIPS. Your little boy adorable.
😊 thank you
Hope you feel better soon. Loved your finished piece. Merry Christmas!
Emily I think it will be fine to leave that little bit of white on the Nutcracker Village. Hope you feel better soon.
Hoping you get well very soon, thank you for sharing. 💗
I love the Benediction Prayer❤❤ I have a couple charts for The Doxology I want to stitch both.
Thanks for another FlossTube Emily. A scuppernong is a grape. Chicken is looking good. Your Nutcracker Village is awesome, what a memory for you & Evelyn to have seen the Nutcracker. I’m stitching Country Cottage Needleworks Snow Village Series. I’m continuing to keep you and your family in my prayers, thank you for the devotion 🙏
LOVE that Nutcracker piece! She’s going to treasure that for life! I can’t have a lot of WIPs either. It would make me anxious cause I would feel pressured to get them done quickly. But also, I’d feel a little guilty cause those big pieces with specialty items are a lot of money. I don’t feel guilty if it’s spaced out.
And!…….who do you think fixed your computer?😂😂😂😂 Didn’t you ask him for a way????😊❤
...yeah...now I HAVE to keep trying!
Emily!!!! Love love love your book and I’m so proud of you! I sent you an IM on Instagram!!!! Never ever give up on your dreams my dear!!! Keep sending your book out … you can do ALL things thru Christ🩷
Thank you, Dee! I read your message, but I haven't had a chance to respond yet today. Teething babies are rough. I won't give up. As long as God doesn't shut the door, I'll keep moving forward.
Love the book❤
Thank you!!
God is good!!!
Emily I am a firm believer that if you want something bad enough and you put it out to the universe you will get back what you want. Keep doing what you are doing. The book /poem is very cute. Hope you hear good news soon.
Thank you for the encouragement!
I’m so happy to have found your flosstube today! Lovely cross stitch projects and your book is wonderful!!! I live in southeast Kansas and kind of surprised that I did not know that there are cross stitch shops in McPherson and north of Branson! The closest ones (2 hours) to me are Silver Needle in Tulsa and Quilters Station and CC & Co in Kansas City area.
Floss n Needle is the one in McPherson and With Needle and Thread is in Granby, MO. So glad you took the time to watch!!
Loved your flosstube! Even enjoyed when your kids interrupted :) I'm going to try and find the Name of Christ pattern, looks fun!
Emily, you are a very talented young lady! I loved your book! Thank you for sharing 🥰….I love the Chiefs as well!
I'm so glad you liked it!
Very enjoyable book!! Keep writing
I will! I'm finding a lot of joy in writing books that my kids would enjoy reading.
Emily, your book is wonderful! I think you could be a book narrator, too. I so enjoy your videos. I hope you’ll continue making them. Take care and praying for you all. 🙏🏻
Oh, I definitely plan on continuing my flosstube! Its way too much fun!
Love the book!🎉❤ Thank you. I hope a publication picks it up. God is great!!!!!
Its encouraging to hear that you like it! I'm praying every day!
Love this book!! Praying that it gets published. 🙏🏻
Thank you! I'm praying to!
The chicken story, I was holding my breath, thankfully she survived the ordeal! We live opposite chickens which our neighbours have on their allotment. I call them ‘the girls’, I’m not sure any of them are as ladylike as your adorable pattern though 😂. Your experience at the needlework store is shocking customer service, their loss as you won’t want to return. Hopefully you can use the fabric for another project 💗
I usually call them, "Ladies!" Or "madame ". "Excuse me, madame...this isn't your house..." I am planning on making a trip to one of the needlework stores farther away. I'm sure it will be much better.
Just found your channel after seeing your recent Instagram post, wow that’s such a lot to go through as a family, hopefully it’s onwards and upwards now moving forward. I can totally relate to ‘bad’ neighbours and various neighbours who are poor dog owners. Thankfully we have this stitching for the tough times. 💗
I'm glad you stopped by. I'm so thankful for stitching...I'd lose my mind.
Hi Emily! I found your channel yesterday and I’ve been going back through all your videos. Today’s video touched me deeply because I have the same problem with self-criticism. When I read 2 Corinthians 10, it made an impact on me because it tells us to take every thought captive for Christ. So now, when I start thinking critically of myself I remind myself of that and rebuke the devil for putting it into my mind. Thank you for making these wonderful videos. I will definitely be following from now on. 🥰🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I need to go read 2 Corinthians 10! Thank you for suggesting it.
Thank you Emily!🩷
First we are supposed to worry about nothing but pray about everything. Next most people eat a lot of products that are hormone induced which causes rapid growth. If you are being careful during pregnancy and while breast feeding he would be normal. My middle daughter lost over a pound while I was in the hospital with her and she stayed in the low percentage of growth she even slept 12 hours at night and 6 hours in the day two naps of 3 hours. Just believe God has it and don’t worry. God bless
I didn't consider that! I am very careful about what I eat during pregnancy and breastfeeding. I struggle with worry, and I do need to be reminded all the time. I appreciate your comment!
Glad to find you. Also in Kansas
Prayers for you and your family. I have a friend that recently lost a baby. She was close to a year old. I plan on making your pattern for them. I’ve been looking for a stitch for them. Thank you
I will do my best to try to get it done. I wasn't expecting it to be this difficult for me. Thank you for your prayers and being such an encouraging friend.
@@babablackiesheep don't feel any pressure to do the pattern. Just focus on healing for the season.
Cross stitch helps ground me and keeps my anxiety in check. Just knowing it’s there at the end of the day is such a mental boost.
It's like a hug from a close friend...that's the best way I can explain it.
New to your ft 🧵🪡👋from TeXaS enjoying it
You Are loved! By this community, but more important, by God.
I needed that today! Thank you! I adore everyone more than words can express.
I thought the video was fine. I have never lost a child. I almost did after he was born with heart issues, but he is still with us and is married now. I'm so grateful for that and I'm sorry for your loss. Have a great week.
Thank you for sharing. Being a parent is hard. A part of your heart goes with each child.
Please don’t apologize for your feelings, it shows us out here watching you that you are human just like the rest of us. If you want to share yourself to people you do it. It’s your channel and your rules. My condolences on the loss of you sweet, sweet Angel. Until we meet again, happy stitching 🪡😊🍁
Thank you for choosing to share your life and stitching with us. I love that you share your struggles, as we all have them, but are unwilling to be that vulnerable. But the most beautiful part of your sharing is your love for Jesus. We share that joy! 💕
FlossTube Extra: Removing Slubs from Linen by Cross My Stitches I know you can remove them. If I can, anyone can.
You were recommended to me by Hannah @theokiestitcher and I'm so thankful for her and God for it. I live in SW Missouri near Springfield. I feel you in so many parts of your life. Completely remember that moment my brain was quiet after I started my meds. Lovely stitching. Happy to hear a fellow believer lift up Our Lord.
lol!!! Send the linen you us!!! We will figure it out!!😂😂😂
