    You might want to put up a text correction about "no wildlife during a blizzard" as this is an incorrect statement. 1 species of animals DOES still spawn during blizzards. Timberwolves. EDIT: Other then that, the rest of the information is good, though I've been hearing conflicting info about the benefits of the crampons, with some saying they don't give a speed boost, and others still saying they do. My personal experience is they have made me climb faster, but there is strong evidence this may have been recently changed, perhaps when the Zone of Contamination was added (after this video was made)

    • @jonbedet
      @jonbedet 5 дней назад

      Zaknafein tested the crampons myth of speed boosting climbing. It doesn't speedboost. What it does do however is decreasing the stamina cost for climbing making you able to climb for longer. When fully rested there's not much use for it. When you are more tired however it does make a difference. I can recommend his video. Very interesting.

    • @Seriously_Unserious
      @Seriously_Unserious 5 дней назад

      @@jonbedet They will still indirectly improve speed then, as you slow down as you fatigue and if you're fatiguing less, you'll get less fatigue slowdown as you climb. Also, the crampons are absolutely essential even when fully rested for some rope climbs, particularly a couple of very long ones with no ledges in Sundered Pass. Try those without crampons and being fully rested and you're headed down a one way trip to the long dark -- a long way down!

    Hi...i have question about User Defined Functions implementation ...i already build simple interpreter called micro(A) and made simple subroutine calls and recursion work , but i stacked with function with params ..and even that work but only not work in recursive calls ...so how properly create recursive calls ?

    • @introspectivethinker
      @introspectivethinker 3 месяца назад

      What is the exact problem with recursion? Is it that functions aren't defined when you try to call them recursively? There are 2 historical solutions to this problem: the first is to do what C does and require a forward declaration if the function. The more modern solution is to use multiple "passes". So before your interpreter runs, you can traverse the tree and create a list of functions. Then when the interpreter runs, it will know all of the functions that exist. Hopefully this helps with your problem

All I had was bear meat, so I decided to just eat the big pieces and used the shredding technique to quickly get to lvl 5. Managed to survive and once you hit lvl 5 cooking it opens up more strategies to survive long term. Of course you still need 20 teas for that!

    I would not recommend Colemak to anyone. It is not optimized enough for how many keys change. The right hand is super busy and not comfortable to type. You can look at my ENDe layout and see that it combines the hand alteration of Dvorak and has many rolls as well. It is optimized for English, German and Dutch, but also is good for French and the like. My approach is not to use any held layers held for typing, but only for the navigation layer. Shift and an extra character/ symbol layer are in comfortable pinky positions, but are one-shot keys, which IMO is important to type potentially faster and also a bit less error-prone and more comfortable, then holding down any layer-keys. Using the thumb for important functions is IMO not ideal. Just use the thumb in the position where it naturally is and assign only space to it for typing. You can use the thumb on thumb keys for less often used shortcuts, macros, PrintScreen, Mouse-layer switch or something like that, but I would not use the thumb for typing (besides space). When using both thumbs for the navigation layer (hold) it is no problem to have Enter and Backspace on that layer, because just holding the thumb down (on the other hand then you are pressing the navigation layer keys) is almost no extra effort, compared to a single key. You can have a look at my layer at REMOVEMEconfigure.zsa.io/voyager/layouts/r9KR7/gJg6X/0

    I like your fp style result type, it's private and hand crafted. A general result type in Go would be too cumbersome on callee and caller side but for single fitted use cases it's very useful. I tried to implement fp monads in Go from the theoretical definition to understand what monads are when Go got generics. I now have a gist. In practice it's the fluent design pattern to chain function calls and more (result type). My conclusion when implementing generic Go monads was: it's impossible because monads require typed methods. There are typed functions and typed types, but that's not enough.

    I wish you well with your glove80. I had been using mine for a year and I thought it was going to be my endgame keyboard, and I just never could get back to the speed I had before using it and just had a decent amount of mistakes I could just never shake off. I really loved the idea of the keywell and having it bring more keys into reach... but it's just my hands I think, it really just didn't work for me. I just couldn't comfortably reach the number row, and the keys below the alpha block were also awkward and I could only comfortably use 3 of the thumb cluster keys. I really think it's just me as so many people love theirs and I really wanted to love mine, which is why I gave it a whole year of trying. I found that a smaller boards is better for me, like a ferris sweep or an Atreus and at that size, the key well doesn't matter because it's all in reach and comfortable. I literally picked up 10 wpm the day I switched from my glove80 that I had been using every day for a year, to my old Atreus I hadn't touched at all in that year. It broke my heart... expensive lesson but now I know what my hands like.

    • @introspectivethinker
      @introspectivethinker 5 месяцев назад

      I get that. At first, I experimented with different thumb positions to get things comfortable and I made a lot of mistakes. What helped for me is hovering my hands rather than using the wrist rests. This lets me move my hands just a little to make it overall more comfortable. But for my hands, it's very comfortable and I'm using most of the thumb keys. The bottom row is very comfortable for me as well.

    I love to see how others lay things out, but it's crazy how personalized things get once you go down these rabbit holes that 99% of the time when I look at what other people are doing I completely disagree with them lol. Just a few different life experiences can have dramatic effects in layout preference. I did data entry for years so the numpad layout is more comfortable for me so my number layer has that in my right hand, which led me to lay out my symbols over in the same numpad shape bc that makes sense in my head. One thing that I think we agree on is, fewer layers is better. Being able to hold your entire multi-layer layout in your head without thinking very hard is the most important thing. I try to optimize the hell out of the keys directly under my fingers. Having several small specialized layers is not as good as 1 really well optimized but full layer that plays well with modifiers. Additionally, like it or not, qwerty is still dominant and for any devices you have to interact with that have embedded keyboard like laptops or if you have to use a pc that isn't yours, I prefer not to embarrass myself as someone who types for a living if I have to use one. For this reason never even tried the engram symbol mapping and used engrammer which aligns more with normal qwerty shift modifiers and shifted number symbol locations. Also, I recently decided z and q are honestly used with such infrequency that I can actually put them on another layer bc it's not worth reaching for and that opened up some interesting things.

      Yeah I've created so many new games 😂 I think one time I got a rocket 70% of the way made but I moved it or something and it reset the progress

    Absolutely, graviton doesn't make any sense. Even String theory is going to get busted.

    I realise that you mention updates. The suffocation affliction is now available in the zone of contamination. Same mechanics.

    Have you looked at Engrammer? It's Engram but with more programming friendly symbol layout. If so, what do you think?

      I haven't actually checked that out until you mentioned it. It looks interesting, although I personally dislike holding keys to activate shift/ctrl/etc. The problem is latency. Let's give an example: suppose I set space to tap and enter to hold on the same key. The only problem I have with this is that the space key only gets sent when I let go of the key and I notice that a lot. It makes typing feel a lot less fluid and so I'm not the kind of person who enjoys holding down the homing keys to shift, for example. I love the idea but I hate the way it feels to send a key only on release. My layout has also changed a lot since I made this video. I'm still on Engram, but I've drastically simplified my layers and gone with a more vanilla engram symbol layout.

      Thank you for mentioning Engrammer! I love everything about the Engram layout except for the wonky symbol placements. Engrammer is more-or-less what I would have altered Engram to be. I'm so glad to see it's already on Monkeytype and layout files in Github. I've been typing Dvorak for the last 14 years, with a couple 6 month periods where I typed Workman and then Colemak. I think it's time to shake things up a bit.
