NEC and Ken were really wonderful to me by letting me borrow their bass for my residency there back in Jan 2022. I have my own mouthpiece though. I must admit it is still my preferred bass saxophone out of all the basses I have played in my life. I would purchase that instrument in a heart beat!

Thank you so much! That means a lot! Ian and I worked hard to figure out what worked the best with this combination - never the easiest to balance the voice and the saxophone voices in any context - I think that we found a good balance here though!

This is a wonderful project that Spencer made! Most of the pieces have been recorded from the Ethos series. You can find all the videos interpreted by the different commissioners on his website! This is a Supreme. I switched to a Supreme back in September from a Series II. I love the richness of sound, ease of response, the homogeneity across all registers, the precision of intonation, and it is an instrument that I feel I can continue to grow with and push my limits with. My series II is a great horn but I fought so hard against the intonation and I felt that I could only reach so far in terms of flexibility of what I wanted to do on the instrument and homogeneity of sound. Maybe I should do a comparison video actually!
