Truth is this show was boring for me also, very bland compared to WandaVision and Loki series. Continue to tell us how yall really feel. The Shield has always been the US Government’s property, because Howard Stark made it for the military in WW2.

The issue with this series in particular is it went through a ton of rewrites and had a lot cut out due to real world events. Here in episode 2 the flagsmashers were stealing vaccines. The vaccines are never referenced again. whole pandemic storyline removed because..... real pandemic. Considering all the changes and cutting and pasting they had to do, it turns out not entirely bad, and there's still some good stuff coming in the story.

I know we were all supposed to feel that it was inappropriate for John Walker to become Captain America, but I can't help but feel like the level of animus that he gets from so many people is just way off the charts. Cut the guy some slack.

Just wait until episode 5 " truth" the best episode imo it's a little too real for some people 🤷🏿‍♂️

Why do people get excited for a new captain america? I don't live in the US and even I know it's not hard to fill up a stadium with americans cheering for anything that has the word "america" in the name.

More patience and open mindedness...you will be rewarded. There was quite a bit going on in this episode...if you're not strictly focused on the action scenes. Watch it again and LISTEN to the conversations being had. From your reactions, it seems like you missed a few things. As for the Flag-Smasher that was killed...of course you aren't going to feel anything from his death. He was a nameless, faceless henchman. What should have got your attention was the fact he was willing to sacrifice himself for his friends and comrades. Implies the seriousness of their belief in their cause.

This arc leads to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Wandavision was a limited series), they screw things up a pit over there but the movie still one of the best out of the new marvel moment, and agatha will have a marvel series of her own in the second half of this year!!

The only reason I’m against Sam having the shield and being Captain America is because he’s the cause of all the problems in the show like an idiot he gave the shield up. It was given to him for a reason by Steve if he didn’t think he was worthy he could at least kept it hidden or kept away because he should’ve known the government was going to do that.

6:21 Most of the best Marvel stories are about the complexity of the human experience. In almost any given conflict neither side is 100% correct, because humans are flawed and make mistakes. So I end up rooting for both sides, and having my heart broken no matter what.🥲

What motivates the Flag Smashers is that during the Blip - when half the population was gone - people on the lower rungs of society were allowed to move into countries where workers were needed to replace those who had disappeared and the quality of life improved greatly for many who remained. Then when the missing population all returned, those who had moved into new countries and careers were herded by the Global Repatriation Council (GRC) into refugee camps with the intention of forcing everyone back to their original countries of origin while the ones who returned were welcomed back into their homes and jobs - particularly the political elite. The Flag Smashers - as part of the underclass that feel they are being discarded - are fighting to keep what they believe they earned during the Blip. One of the major plot points originally part of this series that was cut out during editing before release involved a worldwide pandemic that occurred just after the missing population returned from the Blip. It was implied the virus may have been engineered and was being used to eliminate the unwanted segments of society - mainly the refugees being displaced by those who returned - as only the rich and well-connected were easily able to obtain the vaccine for this mysterious illness. This was the reason the Flag Smashers were stealing crates of vaccine in this episode, to distribute in the refugee camps around Europe. Then the real Covid pandemic struck just prior to the release of this series and the heads of Marvel panicked that it looked too much like the reality of 2020 and had that sub-plot edited out and replaced with other dialogue using ADR. It is one of the reasons this series seems a little disjointed in the early episodes - because a major portion of the intended plot had to be excised at the last minute. I personally - in hindsight and a few years on - believe the sub-plot should have remained and the series would have been better to include it.

"We're at 200ft, it's too low for a Parachute." *In Captain America, the Winter Soldier: Falcon used a parachute with only 50 ft before impacting the Hellacarrier below him. This is a dumb thing that movies do all the time. And it would get you killed in real life*

So...to put yourself in the perspective of the FlagSmashers, imagine that you woke up in a world where there was no unemployment...no housing crises...no resource shortage. You got to live in a world for 5 years where it was significantly easier to meet all of your needs...and then everything changed back in a blink of an eye. The country that you moved to because they NEEDED your labour due to a shortage of bodies...and suddenly now they don't need you anymore...more than that, they want you gone. Yes, the people who came back from the blip and have it bad...but ALSO the people who were left behind have it bad...they had to keep society running while everyone was blipped and now they are seen as disposable...and most resources that are available to assist with employment, housing, etc. are being diverted to the people who came back from the blip.

And the other half would be given placebo's, so they just wasted away and died. That was the inspiration for the story of Isaiah Bradley. In the comics, the super soldier serum used on Steve was tested on black people before it was ready. Isaiah was the first 100% successful test.

Forgot how boring this show is, honestly just skip to Loki and What If, I see people saying Moonknight but I don't even remember what happened on that show.

There are some upcoming things that you would probably enjoy more if you first watched some of the "Side content" if you are willing. You should watch the X-Men movies before watching "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness" And you should watch the Daredevil Show before the Hawkeye show.

Now you’ll start to notice how much was cut from this show😂They cut a lot of content out of the show for various reasons, and it gets pretty noticeable, which is why the show isn’t rated higher. The Sam-Bucky dynamic tho is awesome so that saves the show for me😂

Short explanation about the Flagsmashers 1. When the world got blipped and half the population was gone - lot of the economy and the infrastructure broke down 2. Suddendly refugees were seen as something positive cause they could help to replace the people in the countries and help the system so many countries embraced them suddenly 3. Now the original people are back the countries trying to throw out the original refugees that have built a life in the last 5 years 4. The Flagsmashers are fighting to have a right to stay and steal material to help the now refugees who are driven out of their homes.

What a horrible movie. Poorly written. Then theres the whole scent thing. How cringe.

If you like on the nose political comentary, this is a show for you. All theee marvel shows had such great potential, but nope. All of disney right now is....eh.

Loki is my favorite MCU show, didnt care for Wandavision. Falcon and the Winter Solider definitly comes in second to Loki for me.

Y'all were focusing so much on the Flagsmashers that it seems like you didn't notice the Power Broker.

They definitely needed to develop the flag smashers more. They did change up parts of their storyline in relation to a vaccine due to the pandemic, so I'm not sure if tnat would have helped it.

Bucky doesn't want the shield. He killed Howard Stark the maker of the shield . And Tony Stark probably wouldn't have approved of it . However given he's a super soldier and Sam isn't he'd be the better physical choice.

Whoever thought the shield should go to bucky is racist its that simple. Yes im a white guy and im saying its racist. Bucky was a terrorist regardless if he was in control or not. Yeah, we all looked at Walker like a Great Value Steve Rogers. It's interesting how everything plays out with him. In any event, the problem this show is dealing with is that during the blip, people from poorer countries around the world were welcomed into the better off countries around the world in order to help keep things running, only to be forced into resettlement camps the moment everyone came back. They're living under threat of imminent deportation back to where they lived before the blip. The major world governments are playing around with everyone's lives at this point, and like we see in this... blipped or unblipped, most people are getting the short end of the stick post-endgame. Oh, also, there was a pandemic subplot that was dropped for... reasons...

Honestly, they don’t explain the Flagsmashers very well at all. Their whole thing is people worked together during the blip, national boundaries more or less dissolved and people welcome to travel where they were needed. There were plenty of resources, if not always enough people to produce them. Their “One World, One People” is a callback to this. They think national boundaries are outmoded and resources should be shared with those in need rather than just those who go along with some global council’s mandates.

F&WS and Hawkeye are the best in my opinion. WandaVision got a lot better once they added color and Darcy. Unfortunately, I thought Loki was terrible. I can binge watch Hawkeye anytime.

Many people was and are trying to compare the Fanstaticalness of Wanda vision and Loki with the more grounded F&WS. You giving me magic and witches in Wandavision and Loki, it's not the same comparable to the more realistic F&WS.

F&WS was supposed to come out 1st but the pandemic put it on hold.

Sam and Bucky will never friends. They met twice and both times Bucky tried to kill Sam and the only reason they have any association with each other is because of Steve. Also while Sam and Steve were on the run Bucky did not inform Steve that the recording deprogrammed him so Bucky was finally at peace in wakanda for almost 2 years straight. The government and the US ignored Isaiah due to the fact that he was black and they didn't want a black man representing America values. Just like they didn't choose Peggy Carter bite her having the same attribute as the Rogers it was a better candidate for the Super soldier program. If you don't believe me go back to Captain America the first avenger movie and see that she was going to jump on the grenade Steve just got there first also everything that Steve believed despite her not being able to show her capabilities and she could have in a similar way to the agent Carter TV series which you should check out. I don't know if it's Canon to the MCU but it is a pretty good series.

This isn’t nearly as inventive as WandaVision. It’s much more a straightforward character driven/Action driven drama. But, I’m a big fan of both lead characters, so I was all in.

The show does pick up the pace. It might just be too serious for some people.

The original Captain America was created by the government. So it fits that the second one would be as well. That said, what made the first Captain great and an American role model was NOT so much the super soldier serum, or even his patriotism, but Steve Roger's very character, a truly good, honorable human being to his very core. When it turned out that the government itself was corrupt (in Captain America: The Winter Soldier), he did the right thing and turned against the government (ie. Shield and Hydra). The new Captain, while being a good soldier and at least someone who TRIED to be a good person, did not have the same core qualities as Steve Rogers. And that's the same reason why Bucky could never stand in for Captain America, but Falcon could.
