I am trying to make guides that are short and only contain the necessary information to get things up and running. The thinking being: Once you have something that works, you are able to play with it and learn new things.
In the future i wish to do other types of projects where i explain more and also doing different things like simple robotics.

Awesome! Thank you!
I am trying to get openmptcprouter running, based on openwrt, so a lot of guides link to openwrt. The installation works fine, but I can't connect to the web admin page. My network already has a dhcp server setup, and the linux bridge I am using is the same connection for proxmox web management, so I don't know how it can distinguish proxmox's ip and the VM router's ip.
Please ensure you are using USB Keyboard when pressing SHift + F10 you may see new version of installer. You need to click use previous version in the installer to make tpm bypass work
But why are you running a container inside of a container, too much abstraction just run the binary inside of the LXC container and that should suffice.
Can I install wifi adapter for router os (mikrotik)? And I would like to guide
Hi, thanks for this! You said you should have set it up with the private IP instead of the public IP. Does that change anything as far as what you enter for the ID/Relay server? Or do you still put the public IP there? Also, as mentioned by someone you can have a reserved public ip. This ip is different than the initial public IP. What steps would I need to change and use the static IP number? Thanks!
you're a life saver. I almost sold my soul to eve-ng. thanks brother!
Thank you man, such a clear video.
How do i do this if im running proxmox on a server, not a computer or laptop. So i just access proxmox via the online interface?
Good video. What is the speed of your file transfers? Im maxing at 50 MB/
Thank you for a very comprehensive Tutorial. I think I have followed all the steps and when I put in the Server name (I created in No-IP) to the Authentication Server, I get the ready message but when I try to connect to another client (Also with the Server Name), I get "Key mismatch". What am I doing wrong?
thanks for your help)
So running the Tunnel must required to execute the CF zero trust.
A quick, easily understandable tutorial. I don't think I've even been so thankful after watching a RUclips tutorial.
niceeee
Nice video. You covered a lot in short amount of time. Very efficient. I don't think you had to do DDNS tho since Oracle public IP's don't change.
have a litle trouble with that, after Tar "unpacking" i don't have same files, i keep : root@pve:/tmp# tar xvf "GNS3 VM.ova" GNS3 VM.ovf GNS3 VM-disk001.vmdk GNS3 VM-disk002.vmdk The "VM-disk1.vmdk" and "VM-disk2.vmdk" don't come.
i try to unpack with 7zip and transfert VM-disk1.vmdk and VM-disk2.vmdk by the terminal command but it don't run the "qm importovf" command with this error. root@pve:/tmp# qm importovf 110 "GNS3 VM.ovf" local warning: unable to parse the VM name in this OVF manifest, generating a default value invalid host ressource /disk/vmdisk1, skipping invalid host ressource /disk/vmdisk2, skipping root@pve:/tmp# it's the /tmp folder : root@pve:/tmp# ls 'GNS3 VM-disk001.vmdk' 'GNS3 VM.ova' 'GNS3 VM-disk002.vmdk' 'GNS3 VM.ovf' GNS3_VM-disk1.vmdk systemd-private-adce0996830e4dc6997b92ef1243becf-chrony.service-p1J1GU GNS3_VM-disk2.vmdk systemd-private-adce0996830e4dc6997b92ef1243becf-corosync.service-3TcbXz 'GNS3 VM.mf'

Great
Im very new to proxmox , and was hoping to host some websites in containers or vms. The proxmox host only has one network card , is it possible to use openwrt to set vlans for my website vms and have proxmox management on a separate vlan? Great videos by the way. Thanks!
Very useful! thank you!
great video!
Very helpful, but please also explain in short what each od the commands are doing
that work well on just one node, what is about HA..migration to another proxomox node maybe will work but you will loose connectivity..that guess can not can be fixed
Thanks for sharing.
can't i juse use vlan aware on the default bridge on the lan port. my goal is to use multiple vlans on my physical switch that is connected to my proxmox host with pfsense installed. my proxmox host has 2 nics (1 for lan + vlans and 1 for wan).
I successfully installed openwrt on my proxmox server. I can access openwrt and am able to config it successfully. I do plan on running the "arrs". I created a new network interface.. So now I have two. vmbr0 and vmbr1. I have successfully setup openwrt to use the vmbr1 interface. With that, I have a VM created with ubuntu server on it and all my "arrs" running. I go into the network settings of that VM and change the network interface from vmbr0 to vmbr1. I successfully pull an ipaddress from openwrt. Perfect thus far! From the ubuntu VM running the arrs I can go to console and ping google and also pull nslookup. Again perfect. But now, I want to access my arrs running on this VM and I use the ipaddress that I have assigned from openwrt and the proper port number, like 9696 and I can't reach my arrs anymore. I can ping the openwrt gateway and ipaddress What am I missing here? I've tried to play with the firewall rules and can't seem to figure this out. Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.
Thx!
Thank you for the message. I'm happy it helped you!
Im not the only one who realized that port in the intro was a gun barrel....right? XD
Haha, I really didn't think of that resemblance! If I had access to weapons, I would have leaned into that! Sadly, as a norwegian, I had to use a pipe from a defective microphone stand :-P
Would you do the same for OPNsense?
I have thought about it. I plan on changing from a "physical pfSense router" to a virtual OPNsense router for my lab network. I will be setting up a test network before going ahead with that which I plan on making a guide on. I sadly don't have a time-frame though.
An amazing tutorial!

May I know how to get the KEY to input in the Rustdesk? tks
Hello! Which key are you referring to?
@@Divgitally the key is request in Rustdesk network --- ID/relay server , thanks
@@sparkli1983 Aha! That is extra security that was either not up and running when I made the video or i could not figure out. I have not kept myself up to date on Rustdesk due to using Twingate and remote desktop instead.
@@Divgitally thanks , i may download the old version to use .
You have to run the command: docker logs hbbs *** you can find the Public Key to use for your clients, on third line -> Key: *** If running the command you get a permission error, you can solve in this way: sudo chown -R your_username:docker /var/run/docker.sock sudo chmod 660 /var/run/docker.sock sudo service docker restart
thanks.

10/10 tutorial. Worked without a single hitch. Bravo sir.
Thank you for the message! I'm happy the video helped you and still is usable!
@@Divgitally Hey actually I do have one question. At the 5:00 mark where you open the GNS3 console and it displays the IP address. I need this to be a static IP address but it's giving me a DHCP address. Which means every time I shut the GNS3 VM down in Proxmox and then reboot, it gives me a different IP address. Then I have to take that and paste it into the GNS3 client page. This is a real hassle. How do I change this IP to static? Thank you in advance.
@@martyg2333 Hello! There are 2 ways. 1: Log into your router and make a static entry there. Most routers should have some options for that, but i can't promise that all routers have it. 2: in the console of your GNS3 server (5:00 in the video) press the enter key then navigate down to network. Here you should get the possibility to set a static ip address. I currently don't have a GNS3 server up myself to run through it, but I should have included that in the video!
@@Divgitally Hey brother that worked, thank you so much. I have my own network setup at home with DHCP setup on a Cisco 2960X and wanted my GNS3 server to be in my server VLAN and option #2 allowed me to set the IP to static so it's now part of my dhcp excluded range. I really appreciate your quick response. You're the man!
@@martyg2333 Hello! Great to hear you got it working to your liking! Because of working with CCNA I have had to stay with Packet tracer, but GNS3 is the better system to use for learning in my eyes! I absolutely cannot promise quick reply's but i do try!

@@TheDarmach I have come across not being able to license windows server if i don't have the correct ISO for that license. They probably have more blocks similar to that!
Thank you, for your help, it works.
I'm happy the video was useful for you! I wasn't sure how many would still be able to use ESXi after uploading this video.
How about a VM from KVM? There is an .xml file and the data file. Can I recreate the VM solely from the disk image (qcow2)?
Hello! That is no problem! You will just have to "create" the VM first. By that i mean you do everything you need to create a VM in Proxmox, but you dont include a harddrive for that VM. Then you convert and import the disk image into that VM.
@@Divgitally Excellent! Thanks! I just need to hear that if the .xml was required and it is not from what you are telling me... EXCELLENT!!!!!
@@thomastexwilson7323 That is correct. You just need the "hard drive".
Best video I have seen, thank you. I'm subscribed and sharing with my buddy.
That is High praise! Thank you! I'm really happy to be able to help you out and the video was useful!
Hi, when I get to the end of the install and press continue, I loop back into the setup menu EDIT: I fixed this by ensuring I was on the latest ISO. Great video!
Hello! I'm glad you figured it out! I actually believe I ran into the same issue with that not long ago when setting it up directly on the hardware. Same solution as you if I remember correctly.

That looks awesome! I have had to take down my lab for a little bit, but once I have it up again. I have to test that system. Thank you for mentioning to me!
Great video but after watching this and been testing around myself I just wanna inform that the video doesn't use any key and therefore no encryption is used, you can see there is a red shield and not a green one in top of the windows at time 7:38, to get it properly setup and get your green shield instead you must fill in the key in the client before connecting. A command to get your key: sudo docker logs hbbs | grep Key [2024-07-05 08:56:42.962076 +00:00] INFO [src/rendezvous_server.rs:1191] Key: ABCABCABC123123123 Then simply copy ABCABCABC123123123 to your client network setup. Thanks for the video and good luck.
ive got a minipc with 2 ethernet ports, and one is used to access proxmox, so i cannot use it in the openwrt vm?
Sure you can! What I would do is to have the same interface you access Proxmox with as WAN for openwrt, then you can easily add Proxmox to the LAN side when you have gotten the router up and running.
