Honda VT600 Cafe Racer
Просмотров 1992 года назад
Almost 2 years of building, finally ready to ride (when the snow melts). 1994 Honda vt600, modified to a Cafe Racer and equipped with a draw-through turbo. Every mod is self-made. Feel free to ask.

1994 Honda VT600 Shadow with IHI RHB21 turbocharger and Keihin CV40 carb from Harley-Davidson. And the frame is modified to fit cafe racer seat, rear lifted fuel tank and mufflers under seat. Still a work in progress, but turbowise it works.
Honda shadow single carb and straight pipes

My -94 VT600 Shadow. Just finished welding and grinding the exhaust, a little test to hear what she sounds like. Exhaust is self-made from 2" stainless steel, no mufflers inside. Intake is also homemade, and fuel is fed through a Mikuni bst-40. It's still a work in progress, likely to have some mufflers and fresh paintwork.

Suzuki VZ800 2" straight pipes

My "slightly" modified -97 Marauder with new self-made, unfinished 2" stainless steel pipes without any baffles. They say that loud pipes save lifes, but I honestly think I could kill someone with these.
which carburetor did you use? And which brand do you recommend?
Thanks beautiful ride and I am currently working on my 07 Suzuki Boulevard c50 and was just wondering if you made that rear fender or bought it at an aftermarket parts store?
🤩
What are those sounds good
Sound ist gut..... Aber die Optik ist ne absolute Katastrophe 🤢. Die Schweißnähte sehen Scheisse aus
Sir my steed 600 doesnt sound right. Its like single cylinder sound and the front wants to but short. And i also made it single carb. But no to success
What carburetor do you have an what are your jets sizes
Stock
Did you rejet the carbs?
No
What jets did you run and was they straight straight or have a small baffle inside
Stock jetting, but it should have had at least stage 1 kit, ran quite lean. No baffles.
Oh wow asif I’ve built a set of 2 inch straight through pipes but was thinking of bagging them I’ve got custom jetting on way and upgraded the filter to k&n
Nice bike bro what exhaust is that I might get one and wanted to know this sounds great
Thanks! The exhaust is homemade.
@@nostokurki847wanna make me one ?😁
I own a 1994 honda shadow vt1100, could i use that same carb for my bike??
I don't see why not. But I think CVK Keihin from Harley would be easier to find and works as well. I don't know about vt1100's intake, it's possible you'd have to make a custom manifold for it.
i wondered if id see this bike again. i bet you used a new ( different) phone to shoot video. these newer devices SUCK and old does a better job. i guess that's what the establishment calls progress..... any way , nice job on the mufflers.clean fab work. but i prefer the old set up with straight pipes.just sounded like more soul! that bike is a tricky one to tune with two different carbs. mine is runnin perfect. all original parts in carbs. im doing some rehab on vz cutrently. getting new fork seals brakes and gas tank leak repaired. riddin the vulcan right now. go check out my marauder at my channel. only two vids there . my vz 800 and my vn 800. i put a belt drive on my vz 800 . not scoot works garbage either. home grown .love it .wish i had done it sooner .i bought this bike brand new in 97.
Good looking. is that converted to single carb?
Thanks! No, it's original twin carb setup.
How much would you charge to make that manifold?
You did great job on that👍. But suzuki screwed me up with the 2 carbs being placed on opposite ends¿ why suzuki!
Thanks! Yeah I know exactly what you mean. A real b*tch to sync and sounds like a sewing machine 😄
your ears must bleed after a short cruise
Yeah they did 😄 shortly after i made baffles for these.
but why?
But why not?
Cause fuck em, that's why
Vieläkös sulla toi Mara on? Putkihommat itelläkin edessä ens talvena.
Ei ole ollut moneen vuoteen. Missäpäin rakentelet marauderia?
Turn up your idle. The oil will not circulate properly to top end
hate morons who dont understands its for the video only, he prob rides with idle 900-1200
Sounds like a lawn mower without a muffler
Sounds good 🤙
Thank you! :)
Hey bro how many kilometers can you run before filling up again with that 40mm carb?
Fuel consumption didn't change a bit, about 50 mpg.
I love this. Brings hope to my build. I wish I could find a way to change the bars
There are longer cables avalible
Hey man were did you get the rear fender from?
Made it from blank fender myself, just some grinder work and couple of holes to drill. Google "rear fender blank"
how much for the exaust
what seat is that ? pretty bike
Thanks! The seat is homemade by me.
@@nostokurki847 i give you props it looks great
What is the size on the jets and did´t you coston the intake you self. I hav a VT 700 i will do the same to.
No idea of the jets, the carb came straight from ktm ~600cc enduro or something and worked like a charm.
How hard to put on clutch cable 01 marader
I have no idea
What did you use to paint the rims?
Basic acryl paint and acid primer
Thats great looking! Did you need to extend the cables a lot to make those bars fit? also how wide are those bars? (i hate my stock bars ... way too narrow) Thanks!!
Thanks! All stock cables and lines were long enough. The bar is about 34" wide, if I remember right.
Just answered my question on the cables and bars very cool 800
Yeah the bars are too narrow I feel I dont have good control
good day, what kind of carburetor it is? exact tip ??? well thank you ;)
Hi, it's Mikuni BST 40.
Beuatifull bike man! Love the marauder i have one myself - no where near this nice yet though
Thank you :) it was my first "big" build.
First build! Impressive, very nice work.
Can I ask what size an how did u get that sound lol sounds camed to death
Both exhaust and inlet are made from 42mm stainless steel tubing using weld-on bends. No other mods besides those and a single carb :) and no mufflers, of course.
Did the bike run good when you ride it
dandi485 it ran perfect. Huge amount of low end torque.
This is so beautiful i actually cried a bit
DynastyGaming Thanks! :)
I love the seat and rear fender. Was it custom made? Would you be able to provide the contact to get that? I am looking at getting a VZ800, but would like it too look like that
Justin Reid Thank you! Yeah they were both custom made by me. The seat was from pure sheet metal and rear fender was cut from a fender blank.
Would you please share where did you get the straight pipes from?
How did you do the forward controls?
monkstang95sn took some 5mm thick steel, cut and weld and that's about it
who wouldn't want to mount something that sounds that sweet
wow ! very very nice. I veryuch appreciate how you did what you WANTED and its one of the most original and tasteful versions of a Marauder ive seen yet. I also have a 97 marauder I bought brand new 20 years ago. I did some stuff to it too. it has a meaty belt drive that I fitted myself from S 40 , parts. search " belt drive marauder " . still has original paint and engine. runs like a german clock. I love the belt .makes it a whole differnt bike. if u want ,ill share my build specs for u to do yours. total cost for job less than 300$. doing your own work. leave a comment on vid if you want to chat. im impressed with your work. you could do the belt mod. its not for idiots. btw , over 5000 miles on belt " prototype" and 0 problems. drive it hard too.
Kevin Freist Thank you very much! I don't have this bike anymore, but I agree with the belt drive being superior as my current bike has got one :)
Hi man may I ask what did you do to get the manifold fit? Did you buy a new dual intake manifold? If so, may I ask for the brand?
Bush Lam I made it myself.
Nice man!!! I have to make one then, I'm planning to do the conversion on my 84 VT500c. Would the measurements of the manifold be the same with yours?
Bush Lam No idea :D never worked on a 500. Try to make it as smooth as possible, with all the inner curves rounded so it will flow evenly. Some use T joints, but i think that's a bad idea, rather use ready bends and cut&weld it together.
Yeah that makes total sense. Of course the curves would carry the air flow more smoothly than the Ts. Like the turns, we like curvy turns, not tight ones. :D Thanks for sharing man!
is that a Harley carb
Do you have stock exhaust manifold or headers?
jacob johnson Stock headers. Edelbrock intake and 675cfm carb. This thing was fast, less than 6s 0-60 when there was any grip.
Headers do t come stock lol, the previous owner put them on
Theodore White he means stock manifold dipshit
Love the bike I also Have a 97. Where did you find the risers for the handle bars? I haven't had any luck at local shops looking.
Can't remember anymore, all I do remember is that they didn't fit straight. I had to drill out the diameter and make new threads to fit them.
Hey bro, and about the equalization? Is the same on the two cylinders?
Nice design
Where did you get the exhaust flanges to weld to? Also, what did you use to replace the PAIR valve cover?
Made the flanges myself from 8mm thick steel plate. They aren't welded on, just act as a fasteners for stainless pipe pieces that fit to original exhaust o-rings -> nostokurki.1g.fi/kuvat/VZ800/putket/IMG_0285.JPG/full. That valve cover or "air cleaner" is a part of kids stainelss kitchen toy set from ikea, just made a bracket to hold it and punched a hole in the middle to screw it in.
Thanks for the info. I'm attempting a similar setup.
MONSTER😀😀😀
This Marauder brings tears to my eyes and demonstrates what a perfect engine sounds like. I hope mine turn out 1/2 this good
Thank you! :)
how did you get the flange to meet up to the motor was there a compression ring there or did you weld the flange onto the pipe then bolt it to the motor?
The sealing is set up as original, seperate flange and an stainless steel fitment to meet the metal seal in the exhaust port.
WHAT FENDER IS THAT ?
Please read the previous posts, it's self made.
make me one? lol got 01
Sorry mate, I can't get those fender blanks anymore :/
I've been trying to find a rear fender just like that could you tell me where to find one
It's made from a blank fender
