Cam Heyward as Cable Painting Timelapse

This was a fun project, one I've been wanting to do with a friend of mine for a few years. The timing finally worked out this year. I never fail to be in awe of your talent, Ian! Hopefully Cam does indeed remain a one helmet guy, he's one of my all time favourite Steelers
Thanks, man! I hope so, too.
❤❤❤
I took that picture. Great Painting.

Awesome stuff, Ian. A great tribute to a great man.
Well, thank you.
Love it
I'm learning acrylics at the moment - I'd almost exclusively worked in goache until now - and your videos are really helping me to understand how to use it right! They're fantastic - cheers!
That’s wonderful that these videos might be useful to you in that way. Makes me happy to hear. I used to paint almost exclusively in watercolor up until about five years ago when I switched to acrylic, so I get it.
amazing work brother!
Thanks!
they should've got mr Fixit in hulk movies
I mean, there's still time. I feel like we may see him (or a version of him), yet.
You’re incredibly talented!!!
Thank you.

Congrats on the Commission; it's good to see artists getting work- especially these days. Love your style. The level of detail, and texture are both incredible. You've got a very distinct feel. There is so much warmth and life in the eyes. Love it :) 👌😊 -Best of luck on your art and your channel, and much support from one artist to another. -Huge 👍's up!
Thank you! To you, as well.
love your setup and nice work on the project!
Dad. For the last time, take down the cheesy music.🤦♀️
Go to your room.
For the areas that you "blend" on the skin, are you simply using water? or is there a medium you are applying?
I don't really even use much water with it, it's mostly straight paint. I either kind of feather it with the brush (sometimes older, slightly frayed brushes work better for this), or apply just a small amount of paint and then smudge it a little with my fingers. If it's a big enough area, occasionally I'll use a mop brush overtop while it's still wet for a general blend (like I do on the mottled backgrounds, but it can work more localized than that with a small mop, as well).
Good job! You are seriously under rated. Wish I was as good as you
Well, thank you. Keep practicing... it was fifteen years after I started this piece until I felt competent to finish it the way I wanted to.
How about tomorrow you can make the greatest superhero around the human Spider Man Homecoming
Keep an eye out, I think you'll see some Spidey pieces over the next month or two.
Gajab
what mediums do you work with?
I use a little bit of Liquitex Slo-Dri blending gel sometimes, mostly for the mottled backgrounds to keep the paint mixable a little longer than usual. Not much else but water. I have a drawer full of gloss gel, matte medium, glazing medium, and fluid retarder, but honestly I can't seem to figure out how to use any of them well.
Most underrated artist
Thank you.
Amazing work
Thank you.
❤❤❤
Nice work. Acrylic right? If so did you use any mediums to blend into your paints?
Thanks, man. I don't use a lot of mediums apart from sometimes thinning a little with water. I'll occasionally use Liquitex Slo-Dri blending gel to thin the paint out and keep it wet longer for blending, but I find less and less reason to need it. I've tried some glazing mediums, too, but I can't seem to get the hang of it. I've veered more towards the "smudge it with my thumb" method of blending. I do always varnish when I'm done to even out the surface condition.
So good!
Man, that is fantastic.
Thank you.
Awesome job! Thanks for the sharing!
You're quite welcome.
