Great video. I think Polonnaruwa is much more interesting than Anuradhapura. Most of the monuments are more detailed and smaller than those in Anuradhapura. The Indian influence can be clearly seen, and brickwork is more dominant in the architecture. If you watch carefully, you’ll notice that the bricks are wider than modern engineering bricks. The bricks used for stupas are specially designed for that purpose.

Wow, what an amazing place! Such a variety of structures with interesting architecture. I'm surprised that Polonnaruwa isn't well-known. It's truly a hidden gem. Thank you for sharing so the world can learn about it. I definitely missed it on my trip to Sri Lanka, which is a shame since I was so close to it when I visited Sigiriya. And thank you for the very helpful tips about how to experience it. This was a very well-made and informative video!

Beautiful place

This place has begun to draw lots of attention. The school I studied for my A'level just about 4km from Warakapola. I do not know how I ended up there. My question is, why did our archaeological department abandon such an important place that is giving a clue to an ancient civilisation?. Other countries would make a huge thing out of scratch on a stone and promote tourism. And here is a gold mine. It seems there are people carrying surnames like Rawana. This place seems to be the opening for a vast network of caves.
