Private road resurfacing
Woah! Been a long time since my last video!
A huge THANK YOU to those who continued to subscribe and stay subscribed in my absence. If it wasn't for you folks, I probably wouldn't have bothered posting this video.
In this video my buddy and I take on a job of resurfacing a private road. I had gone and prepped a good portion of it a few weeks before, but didn't bother to record it. Basically, I dragged my rippers on my box blade and smoothed out the road to remove the potholes. Now, it was finally time to resurface it.
I get to use my new hydraulic side-link. If interested in one for your CK2620, look up Michigan Iron Works. It's custom made because no one else makes a cylinder compatible. Y...

Not quite a review, but comments are made regarding my 100hr milestone. After that, I begin a job of resolving some standing water issues. Step one was to create an area for the water to leach to. So far, I've really enjoyed it. There's not a whole lot different from the 2610. Different hood, and it comes with the 3rd function loader handle. Not the valve kit, just the handle with the buttons. My understanding is that they will phase out the 2610, so it may be beneficial to grab a leftover at a possible discount and just have the 3rd function added.

      I just didn't want to deal with the emissions. I already drive a 2013 Ram 3500 with the DPF filter. Had to pull that out last fall and clean it. It was that or a $4500 new one. When I heard that the 26hp is the same motor as the 35hp, but without the DPF, I decided to go that route. There's videos showing how to turn up the fuel screw to get all of the power. Thank you! Yes, I do have a loader, I had it lifted during the video for easy hood access. All of those grease points are all within sight, along the outside of the loader arms. The backhoe has some hidden, or, easily missed fittings. It requires changing it's orientation to get them all. Is that perhaps what you meant when you said loader?

      Sorry, just noticed this comment. It handles it pretty well. I don't even run the RPMs very high, around 1200-1400. It has enough power to lift yourself and reposition the back of the tractor. Push yourself backwards or pull yourself forwards. The backhoe was around $9k add-on and it included the rear remotes, in my deal anyway. 16" bucket came with it.

    • @ShapingTheLandscape
      @ShapingTheLandscape Год назад

      Tractor handles it perfectly. My only issue is remembering I have a lot more length to me, when it's on. I usually dig with a rather low RPM, 1400 to maybe 1800. The thumb is nice. Comes in handy.

  • @tibs2059
    @tibs2059 Год назад

    What rpm do you bring the engine up to when using the backhoe? The first time I used my backhoe, I had it at idle and couldn't get it to work that well, haha. My dad showed me what I was doing wrong and turned the rpm's up. I feel like he had it running a little higher than I would have liked. But that's my mindset being a new tractor owner😅 great video man!

    • @ShapingTheLandscape
      @ShapingTheLandscape Год назад

      Hey there! Appreciate the comment. I typically run around 1200 rpm, if digging in soft material. To speed up a little I'll bump it to 1500. If I'm around a lot of roots or dense material I'll go up to 1800 rpm. I like to conserve fuel, so the lower I can operate it, the better. Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. Sometimes you just need a little more hydraulic flow, though.

So far, 22 hours after service and all is well. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on things. Even OEM equipment can be bad sometimes (out of box failure), but, I suppose they would honor anything with their name on it. Or, I hope they would, anyway.

    From the 182#s "50 hour service" Vidio's l have seen( mostly suffered through), yours has been in the "TopTen" of a Very Good Presentation. You were well organized & skilled. Good Job on the "loader-lock out". I just NEVER would us Anthing but a "Factory" Filter set; because of "warranty" take back issues. One should NEVER bring their tractor into the Dealership for Warrenty Work with "After-market" filters(including engine crankcase), because they WILL Deneigh any & ALL Claims. My "Kubogy" & "My-Fergy"s have magnets were the "After-market's" Do Not. The 5-10$ savings is "just not worth it"! Thank you for your comment! I think I would've preferred all Kioti filters, just to keep everything the same. The kit that I wanted wasn't in stock (just my luck) at the time and I was already just over 50 hours. The oil filter ended up getting delayed in the mail which is why I went to my local parts store and grabbed one. I had the day off to do the service and wasn't going to wait. I had spoken to my dealer in regards to warranty and was told that as long as the lubes and filters matched spec, then I was fine. The book states using KIOTI brand items, but, doesn't specifically say that one will void their warranty by using other brands. Not that I could find, anyway.
