A gravity hill is a place where a slight downhill slope appears to be an uphill slope due to the layout of the surrounding land, creating the optical illusion that water flows uphill or that a car left out of gear will roll uphill. Many of these sites have no specific name and are often called just "Gravity Hill", "Magnetic Hill", "Magic Road" or something similar.

Water moves towards the coldest point naturally. It does flow uphill as well as up and over or even through mountains. If you'd like to learn more Viktor Schauberger's work is there for that purpose.

this looks like the stream is down hill. but that road is MORE downhill. so it messes with your eyes

I know! The camera's battery is put in the wrong way 'round! Hence it captures images in reverse :) neither the road nor the water were going up, but were actually going down... Think about that ;)...

i just did this in my physics class.... it was really hard to make a water flow throughout the class room going up hill...

The water is flowing downhill as water does. The road's downward angle is steeper and therefore creates the illusion that the opposite grade exists. The illusion is especially powerful through the lens of a camera, because we do not have our inner ear informing us about how level the surface is.

@trttab123 It's jsut an optical illusion. The roadway is going down and gives the illusion that the walkway is going up, when the walkway is actualy flat (ok, it's going slightly downhill away from the camera)
