Rons Woodturning shop and stuff
Добавлен 25 окт 2013
Join me in my shop for some wood turning and other projects. I started with pens, then on to game calls, and now projects from bowls to acrylics and other inlays. I am always searching for the right piece of wood for a turning project and I always have fun!
Woodturning a lathe tool handle, it broke. Went to plan B
I bought two 1/2" bars and cutters from Captain Eddy and used black walnut to make the handles. The first one went perfect but the second handle challenged me and was so pretty I had to save it from the trash pile!!

My Grandfather handed this bbq pit down to me many years ago. He built it before I was born and I will be 64 come October. So no wood turning in this video but a guided tour of the bbq pit and how it works. I hope you enjoy because this pit is very special to me and I love to make it work. I will show a future video making wood handles for it as the others have finally deteriorated.

Couldn’t hear / understand anything grandkids said in my 50s! But I’ve been wearing earplugs & muffulator protection for in my early days in the 1960s, still wearing them today. Why did you not just incorporate the top knobins in the bowl lid? Just curious?
Can you post a link to that type of mandrel and stop?
Looks great!!! Congratulations!!!

Ron, make some more videos!
great work i would like to own one . Do you sell them ?
That looks like a branch cut off? Does using end-grain make the call weaker in structure? I've got a pine branch from a fallen tree from my grandma's backyard I'd like to make a call out of. But I had assumed end grain wouldn't hold up.
