    Photography is far from dead. What has "died" are those so-called "artists" who fail to evolve at the same pace as the photographic industry. Add to that those who have fallen behind in their way of thinking, unable to adapt to the fast-changing dynamics of the consumer market, and those who struggle to grasp the ever-shifting landscape of social media. That outdated mindset is what’s truly obsolete. Innovation continues to thrive, but it requires a flexible and forward-thinking mentality to keep up with industries evolving faster than ever. This concept applies to any modern industry-whether it's automotive, computing, or beyond. Without the ability to innovate and adapt, the industry may seem stagnant, but only to those who can’t evolve or reinvent themselves.

    I kinda disagree with some of your points. Photography existed before social media, as did successful photographers. Complaining about not having success with your photographs on social media, is like complaining an about cell phone reception, as an athlete. How good the former is, has nothing to do with the latter. It’s like saying music is dead, because most musicians can’t make a full living at being a musician. Most never have. And it’s been that way, for all of recorded history.

    • @MarcAnthonyStreetPhotography
      @MarcAnthonyStreetPhotography 6 дней назад

      The greater implication of the video is that the industry of photography has changed so dramatically that it resembles very little of the past. Social media is rigged and it exasperates many photographers and I was pointing out that the best medium for your photography is RUclips. If you're still making a living as a photographer then more power to you.

    I have a bag problem too, but came to realise many years ago I don't like dedicated camera bags (after spending a lot of money with numerous brands). Nowadays I use camera cubes with normal backpacks and camera wraps with totes. My go to camera bags are the Mystery Ranch Bindle tote 10 and 20 and the travel bag is mostly the last gen Osprey Nebular 34L (didn't like the changes they made on the newer model), a Patagonia Refugio 26l, Petzl Kliff Rope Bag 36l and a Petzl Bug 18L. I also have Mountain Smith and Mystery Ranch slings, but never used them. If I thought about It, I likely have close to 80 or 90 bags and I still look at others to buy, its not a problem yet, but family members have commented about it.

    With all respect, I really can't see how photography is dead. Looking at all the amazing work I see on Instagram, I just have hard time believing this. Because of the high demand for visual content, it could be argued that the demand for quality works has never been higher. Of course I agree with you that professional gigs are hard to come by and AI is a threat to all of us, but the photogs I follow on instagram have thousands of likes and followers. And I thought I had too many bags. My main struggle = the Peak Design bags I find to be the most practical....but the least comfortable. To your point the Shimoda Explore V2 has a dumpster camera cube, and the side pocket is gross to get into (but crazy comfortable for long hikes). I love the Peak Design Every Day backpacks functionality but wear one on a hike for more than an hour and you'll hate your life. Peak Design is sooooo good when it comes to the side panel access, but the straps dig into your shoulders, the hip belt accessory cuts into your sides. Yeah they're insanely well built and I have no doubt they'll last me for a decade+ but I wish I could get an identical design that didn't hate human flesh. Does a middle ground exist between usable side panel access and comfortable to wear? I live in a part of the world with so much dust and dirt that I'd prefer to never put my bag "on the ground" to get gear out of it. Side panel access is a MUST.

    • @marcisroaming

      I've had rear access bags but I've never had a side panel bag. I've watched videos about that very same Peak design you're talking about and it looks delicious, but I've seen complaints about the Side Access and the straps.

I invested a looooooottttt of time in AI (ComfyUI with al bells and whistles) and CGI (SideFX Houdini). But the thing is, none of the digital forms can pauze time, none of them. Only photography can! And people are always searching for authenticity. Look at luxury watched, music on vinyl, people going to cinema's, people going to music concerts etc etc. The photography industry will change of course, but there will be a bigger gap between photo's that are just needed and authentic pictures with a different purpose.
