Where did you get those turns signal kit ?
oil filter location is specific to a production year!
@@tomwalma4762 All FA and FB direct injected engines have the filter up top. Older style EJ engines are down below along with the H6 EZ engines.
Does this work for manual as well as automatic jettas with this engine?
@@calebamos5770 any vw 8v 2.0 engine yes, this car is manual 👍
@@StarsAutoSport fantastic. Wonderful video. I want to really learn how this car works.
@@calebamos5770 thanks for the support 🙏
Those blue, fram made filters are very poor quality. Cut one apart if you don't believe it.
@@JimFrye-ub3kq customer supplied filter, not mine 👍
If you don't flood crank a Subaru, you sir are no professional.
@@JimFrye-ub3kq customer had over 220k miles and never flood cranked engine and seems to be running just fine 👍
how often have you changed the CVT fluid and diff?
@@Marco-qe5zw every 60k at least. I would recommend every 30k if possible. It depends on how you drive the vehicle.
Nicee I have 2024 401 svartpilen. Love this little bike but I'm struggling to buy accessories.. I have few videos on my channel any recommendations and I'm from the UK
@@RiderReview great bike indeed, I just picked up a new bike 😉 hoping to have a review up soon.
@StarsAutoSport excellent I look forward to it brother
What are those Jacks?
@@russelldavis2220 quickjacks! They’re awesome.
I've had my 2018 model for a year and totally agree (I prefer the unpainted aluminium rims). I have made most of the mods that you have and I found that the handlebar vibration was down to removing the internal brass bar end weights when fitting the bar end mirrors. By cutting off the slope at the end I refitted them and the vibration disappeared. Since I added the FuelX Lite it now runs as it always should have, brilliant. In the UK we get l.e.d. indicators as standard but not as small as those. After it's weight loss programme, mine now weighs 335lb with a full tank of fuel. You might have a tough time replacing it, good luck and thanks for the review.
Is this the 4C, 2L turbo? ....lordy I think my Q needs a rebuild with the horrible oil burning
@@thebrownthomascrown917 Yes! 👍 Very common problem on the earlier 2.0t engines. New pistons, rings and connecting rods. Everything was upgraded.
That's the first time I've ever heard that the optimal fill point is halfway between the high and low marks on the dipstick. While that's fine, I always refill the oil to the full mark. What's your issue with that, since you obviously think that midway is better?
@@jeffstone28 Mid to high is best. Just don’t over fill. Much easier to add than to remove.
Great vid Sir, thankyou
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video :D
Thanks for the support!
5 quarts? Owners manual calls for 4.4 quarts. You saying to over fill it?
You can start with 4.4 quarts, start the engine and check the level. As long as your level is within spec on the dipstick you’re in the clear.
Great first bike man, I’m an expert rider and I wouldn’t sell mine for the world. It’s my daily and it does great off road, hill climbs, small jumps, hard cornering on the street and tail happy you can keep wide open on the dirt. And I have no problem passing semi trucks without tucking. Great ab workout
Why not that many subs? I see a car maintenance video I subscribe, esp when it is better and more advanced than mine. I like to try to "DIY" - 2 days ago zip ties intake valves cleaning on 2.0 tfsi a6 c6, 15 yo never taken out black as night injectors taken out and left overnight in kerosine, tomorrow teflon seals arriving and really looking forward seeing if there is any noticeable difference. Drive safe!
Thanks for the support 🙏
@@StarsAutoSport keep up the great work! 😁
Any chance on how to replace the starters?
I don’t have anything coming up as of now. If I get one, I will be sure to make a video.
Thanks bro. You're appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Damn it, I wish you posted this video 2 and half weeks earlier. The best videos I could find were on the duke/rc 390's. This is the most complete video with best angles I've seen so far. I was thinking of making a video of this myself, but you beat me to it and did a better job than I would have. Thanks, this will help a lot for my next oil change. How do you like the bike?
Glad the video helped! It’s a great bike, a lot of fun! Just picked up a new ride I will be posting hopefully soon. Stay tuned!
No flood crank?
Not necessary, car now has 200k and runs like a champ. 👍 Make sure to get a good oem filter.
Wait! A "good OEM filter?" That's not what you used in the video! @@StarsAutoSport
@@jeffstone28 customer supplied, not my car 😂 but I do recommend going with oem filters if possible. As long as you’re changing your oil frequently, any filter is better than lack of oil changes.
No need to lift...
Need all the space for filming. If you’re small, I suppose doing a change on the ground is possible. I prefer to use my quick jacks
thanks for another great video for Svartpilen 401. Enjoyed watching it.
Thanks for watching. 🙏
Ducati level quality… 😂 obviously you’ve never owned a Ducati. Outside of the sheer beauty of a Ducati, they were the worst bikes I’ve ever owned. I will never buy another, no matter how cool they look.
Good to know!
Hi from New Zealand 🇳🇿 I was going to get one of these but ended up with a Triumph Trident 660. Love your indicators what make are they? Since your more of a car guy my car is a Mercedes benz E63. Just subscribed Cheers
Great choice on the Trident! Thank you for the sub 🙏 the micro led’s were purchased from revzilla, motogadget is the brand. Do you change the oil at 6 months if you’re not at 5k or 6k miles?
I would do every 5k, 6 is fine. 👍
It's an awesome bike all in all. Got mine in late 2023 and can't stop riding it for a single day. Super light with only about 150kg and very manoeuvrable, seems reliant and quick in acceleartion, off road capability is also nice with stock tires and the semi-automatic rekluse. Cheap aswell, i bought it new for like 4500€ excluding after market stuff. I personally wouldn't change the exhaust, stock rear fender or turn signals, i think that would change to much of it's character, but that's a taste of matter anyway. Best looking naked bike out there for sure.
Come on “SMALLS “ I wanted to see how well the lights looked day and night
I’m working on another Svart video, I’ll be sure to add that in.👍
Ska is back!
It never left!
He kinda went over it but I do not have a vacuum pump to add coolant. Where can I find the bleeder valves on supercharger.
The 2 bleeder screws are located on the backside of the supercharger.
Nice😊
First time I changed the oil on my 2016 Outback it turned out the #>@! who did the last change cranked the plug on so tight it was almost impossible to budge. Almost. Once it was off I replaced it with a Smart-O plug. Far superior to the factory plug.
I'm having trouble putting my fuel rail back on my car I just replaced all fuel injector seals an am trying to put my fuel injector rails back on n I keep stripping the new o rings on the fuel injectors. Can some one give me a clue on how to resolve this
You can try lubricating the o rings before install with a light coat of silicone spray. Avoid putting them in dry.
You mentioned you were going to put a link on the page for the turn signals. I do not see one. What is the brand name? can you send the link as promised?
I apologize. I see where the links are. Did not realize there was a 'more' button to click. Thank
Not 14mm socket, 17mm! Subaru 2.5 FB engine drain plug is 17mm
Original drain plug on this outback was a 14mm, Subaru bulletin has upgraded to 17mm. See bulletin link below. This plug was in great shape so I reused it with a new washer. www.subaruoutback.org/threads/found-this-release-from-subaru-about-their-change-in-oil-pan-drain-plugs-including-torque-specs-and-model-numbers.557853/
You don't sound like a 1st time rider...
I am 😂
@@StarsAutoSportdid you end up keeping it what do you plan on getting next if you don’t?
@@Gebin13 I have my eyes on the new Svart 801 👀 not sure yet
I overhauled my front suspensions 8 control arms sway bar links and all bushings for 3400$ now it rides like a brand new car so im satisfied even if it was a bit pricy 🤷🏻🙂
Sounds about right, overtime the bushings have to go. Better off replacing everything for the peace of mind.
Right on. Time & climate deteriorate the rubber components in all vehicles. The peace of mind once you replace bushing, joints, arms & mounts is well worth the price shops usually ask for. Plus i dont have to get my hands dirty buy tools or spend time 😅
It seems you do mostly city driving so why would you want a bigger bike?
It’s a rather small bike, maybe a triumph scrambler or Ducati monster for the next bike. Not bored of the husky yet!
Might be a size rather than displacement thing too. The outgoing 401s are actually very compact in person. So while they look absolutely unique and are real headturners, their actual presence on the road and also in proportion to taller riders (like 6ft and up) could literally be bigger.
Might have to invest in the stage 2 filter and o2 interceptor. My 2022 svart has bar ends, after market exhaust, tail tidy, after market turn signals, and a 1 finger clutch lever and 2 finger break lever and i love the thing. Ride it every chance i get. Probably gonna swap the rear sprocket soon for more acceleration, i highly reccomend the bike for beginners or anyone who doesnt do a lot of highway commuting
Thank you for this video. Multiple Audi dealerships could not solve this problem. This video, my trusty mechanic, and purchasing some OEM parts saved the day!!!
Glad to help!
This was awesome🔥
nice video. did you have to install a flasher relay for the led signals, or flashes at the correct interval without it?
Yes, I ordered the Kafeek 2 pin LED Flasher relay from amazon. You will need to remove the pins and reposition the terminals to get the relay to properly work. Bit of a pain but not terrible.
do those mirrors give you a good field of view compared to the stock mirrors?
I replaced them mainly because I hated the stock mirrors. Aimed correctly, the end mirrors have great visibility. I purchased the Husqvarna factory equipment, I can’t speak on non husky mirrors.
@@StarsAutoSport is there cooler options for the turn signal lights?
@@respawnicon motogadget does sell a few other designs.
@@StarsAutoSport did those pin lights go on easily or did u have to do any extra mods/work to get them to fit?
@@respawnicon they do require some soldering and you need to change the flasher relay. Other than that straight forward.
I’ve got the 2021. It’s a really cool bike, but haven’t ridden it much since buying. I have the mid muffler delete I plan on installing this spring. I have those bar ends mirrors and they are great. The turn signals I want are stupid expensive at $99 per but really nice. Finding neutral is a bear. I’ve taken mine off road chasing my little cousin on his dirt bike and the little Svart was quick and torque
Yea it’s a load of fun. Great for city riding. I picked up the MotoGadget LED turn signals at $60 each I believe. Still pricey but great quality.
did your bike not like to shift into neutral ?
Yes, I find getting in Neutral can be a bit tricky at times. I usually go from 1 to N. 2 to N takes some time.
Ever had feedback on the turn signals as to whether people can or can not see them? They look clean. Great video, thanks for sharing.
The LEDs are bright! Brighter than I expected. I’ll try to post a clip on Instagram. They are directional, you need to aim them correctly.
Ooops, forgot to ask, where you got that torque wrench? or a part number would be great too.
Thanks for the support! That is a 1/4 Snap On digital torque wrench. Awesome wrench!
@@StarsAutoSport Ahh.. I thought the Torque Wrench looked a little small. Thank you!!
Umm this is completely backwards.. Why is the Audi guy vaping, and NOT the Subie guy?? lol Great video... Great channel... Just came from watching your 20K mile oil change on your '21.. We have the same two cars.. Almost lol a '20 STI and a B9 Audi S4. Will definitely have to subscribe. 👍
😂
Can we ride the bike without exhaust? Will it harm the engine... I own svartpilen 250
I wouldn't recommend it. You can easily find a slip-on eBay exhaust kits for under $150.
Which gloves are you wearing?
Dianese Argon gloves, great for summer but very chilly in cold weather. I love them otherwise.
