    Hey man very similar combo I’m getting done now I had a question do you know what pistons to run flat or a dished Apparently need a dish piston to suit the 2v heads and 302 rods Thanks mate

    • @69JANKS
      @69JANKS 2 дня назад

      @@paulfeher4222 that’s cool👍🏼, you can run the typical flat tops with the valve relief pockets……but on a closed chamber 2V (302 2V heads) you should OR wise to lay back the chamber to reduce compression, also depends after the machine shop process how it’s all set up as far as the pistons up in the bore….eg: is it zero deck hight , 005”thou or more under etc…. Will determine the comp aswell 👍🏼……so using the 351 crank with the 302 6” rods is ok, but the right piston (piston height) Shld be used & not exceed zero deck height, with the chambers layed back a little compression Shld be in the mid-high 10

On that same day the great Eddie Thomas was giving a demo run of his front engined T/F dragster in an attempt to reach 200 MPH down the 1/4 mile, I think he missed the the mark by 1 MPH. Now we have street cars topping 200 in 1000 yards as opposed to 1440 and T/F dragsters doing 3&1/2 secs at nearly 400 MPH over the same distance. The Cleveland blocks were just too pricey but 302 and 351 windsor blocks were and still are very plentiful and inexpensive. Do you have a 3V intake gasket or 3V port sizes to compare?? That block looks to be a factory modified and serious checked engine, due to all the ‘x’ and ‘y’ stampings. I’ve never seen a block with so many. The predators will definitely give her an old school look. A mate ran one on his clevo back in ‘94 if I remember correctly. As always, it’s good to see the rare and unique clevo parts, that were around in the days of old. The old clevo is a forgotten war horse in today’s barra’s and LS’s. Cheers mouse

      @69JANKS the carbs i mentioned about stripping? them down, I was ment to say is it good idea? to separate the 2 carbs join together to get better access to the spring?

      @@49cchris I’m not too sure on motorcycle carbs, if you confident about it go for it. Just remember that this method is just to “hopefully” get them free. Ultimately would probably need to rebuild them if stuck etc 👍🏼

    Is Mr. Parker still with us? I would call him all the time from here in USA back in the 90s, when was getting started make the funnel web. He was a super nice guy. I recently stumbled across some old fax papers he would send me to help with Cleveland. I wonder if that is one of his original prototypes??

    G’day mate, No wooden spacer haha!! Used to see wooden spacers back in the mid to late eighties, when I would check out the cars in the pits, at the local drag strip. It’s good to see you’re still swinging spanners and bringing out cool content. Mouse
