As much as I love Lego space I hope it remains dead. The older Lego space themes will always hold a very special place in my heart and my collection and they have a certain charm compared to other themes. Lego space feels like a bittersweet callback to a different time and this makes the occasional d2c or promo so much more memorable. As someone who was mostly around during the for the time of more story oriented Lego themes, Lego spaces general lack of direction in that sense made it so much more special. Me and my friends were able to build up our own world for our old stop motion series from the space sets, because of its lack of story, and it moved our imagination quite differently to Lego sets from more recently.

Getting his feet to move out of the studs and dance like that was really well done!

Great production quality on this. Your interpretation of the color pallets and what they convey was really interesting. But I'm loving the return of Space now in 2024. The City and CMF stuff is great. I got half of the CMF series and four of the City Space sets. And believe me, that is a lot more I have gotten in any single theme in decades.

Awesome what peices were used to make this especially the castle? Where to get the wizard and the guard figure?

Are the hair part from Lego Minifigures not get any "lego" printed signs? I bought Han Solo Minifigures with curvy hair and not able to find any "lego" sign on it

I wish 🤞 lego would bring back all space police and other space sets I only got 2 space police and all the others I didn't get the chance to get all of those others space police and others ect. Never / miss out on alot of the lego sets I wish 🤞 😩 I had had the $$$ money 💰 🤑 💸 😕 our the many sets I wanted but never got the chance to do so money issues led me to miss alot of those and many others lego set I wanted but couldn't get the money to do so I spent on other things and just Iike I said miss chances/money issues. I literally just got into Lego, and the space theme looks fascinating. Though I do think that if possible, Space and Star Wars can sort of coexist: both of them can have that sort of fantastical view of space but also have what makes them unique. Also this might sound naïve or childish, but I like how the Life on Mars was about friendship with aliens

Yeah, the upscaled figures are hugely underrated and I wish LEGO would pursue this idea more. I got the upscaled set recently and have customised it- removing the hat and minifigure controlling things under it, replacing it with a proper minifigure head. I’ve got the HP set because I want to recreate a MOC I have seen where someone has used it to recreate Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters in upscaled minifigure form, complete with a proton pack, PKE meter and ghost trap! I also have an idea for using the Harry Potter set and some extra parts to create an Upscaled Borg Drone from Star Trek. It’s gonna basically be a black bodied upscaled figure and use one of the HP face plates (probably Hermione’s) for the face, but everything else is gonna be black and shades of grey and the occasional splash of trans green pieces. I figure I can add a lot of greebling detail onto the plain black body, arms and legs to recreate the Borg look…

Do you have instructions for that build

cms plastic isn't a chemistry. abs is a type of plastic. cms is a lego/fanboy marketing jargon. op has frustrated me by ignoring the details.

Seeing what Lego is releasing in 2024 makes this video a bit obsolete. Lego Space is back! If you want to keep it that way then make sure you buy some of the new sets (for yourself or as gifts for others) to encourage Lego to continue the current trend.

As someone who grew up on Lego space in the 80's I truly miss the theme and would love to see even a small comeback, unlikely as that is. For now, I comfort myself that I missed out on a lot of sets as a kid, and now have the opportunity, through Bricklink, parts guides and instruction scans online, to slowly gather what I need to build the sets I missed. I print out the parts list, go through what I already own for as much as I can find, then order the remainder. In this way I'm slowly but surely moving towards a complete collection. (Save, of course, for being short on the figures due to the excessive prices for them these days.)

Bionical was when lego started going in on the violence with the themes after 2001 having a focus on violence some going to just "capturing the badguys" to others like Atlantis supposedly killing the threats. Of course the violence reached peak when the main objective in Galaxy Squad was to iradicate the invading bugs. Was lego inspired by Starship troopers and Warhammer 40K when they made that theme with a little bit of Tokusatsu sprinkled in there.
