oh trust me any diesel deere will smoke like a busted locomotive no matter what, i owned a 2018 3033R ( which required def) and both a 332 and 455 GT and they all smoked under heavy load but everyone is so convinced its so bad that they throw hate

Screw the haters. That yanmar in there is not getting hurt one bit doing this. If I remember correctly the model of that motor is a 3TNV76. They are built to withstand 9000rpm. The auger may not have liked you very much but the tractor is fine. With as packed as the snow is tho I could see you having issues cutting into it with going slower due to traction loss. I don't see much wrong with this video. The equipment is made to handle it. That's why they make "shear pins" when they break, you know you went to hard. They are ment to break so nothing else does. To everyone complaining, if you baby your equipment all the time, maybe just get yourself a craftsman.

I have a 455 and even when lugging down I can’t get it to smoke like that. Just a little smoke. I think the air cleaners (both) need replacing. They get plugged but look fairly clean.

Possibly a better solution would be to move the blower into the snow slowly and let it eat through the hard packed snow.

In a high snow situation like this, you should consider hitting it first with the snow blower in the rise up position, then backing up and finishing on the lower position.

Black smoke is normal kinda. It means the fuel isn't burning completely. Could be air mixture mine smokes when under heavy load. Could use an adjustment. Great video though.

Very cool to see a beast of a GT working, but be careful, better to take it nice and slow with her instead of overworking it. Roaling coal is cool, but when you’re slamming the piles and stressing the engine very suddenly like that, that’s very hard on it and will shorten its life span considerably. I bet the pins and joints love that... I sure wouldn’t let you drive any of my equipment.

We put a small td25 turbo off an early kubota turbodiesel on a 455. no muffler since it takes up the space. no extra fuel either its just there to clean up the smoke by providing 8 to 10 psi under heavy load.
