Casual fishing off the Auckland wharf - Biggest Gurnard I caught
ive been on it a phew times one thing i will say is sometimes he goes to very trash spots im pretty sure he goes through a route that he follows every time he goes out
If you follow the shoreline track to your right as you stand on the wharf you'll come to a light green bach with a boat ramp in front. Cast unweighted baits of cast with a sinker as far as you can, caught a snap around five pound there, mind you it was 30 years ago when I worked on Rangi and Motutap, merry Christmas
Been passing by that green Bach but haven’t tried there yet. It might be worth to flick the bait there next time :) Thanks for the comment. Enjoy your holiday :)
Good fun.👌🏽
Thanks for the comment sir :)
Nice fish what size hooks are you using
Stingray, its steady
Just buy a burley bomb
Just bought my net, I'm so keen to get stuck in, I'm from OZ and we have very restricted netting laws (for good reason) but I'm still able to get out and get a feed soon.
Howed a snapper get in there
Were is that warf
🤩
Looks good 👍
is that Oahu Bay wharf
Yea bro
Tried softbaiting there multiple times but keep getting snagged :( any tips?
What happened? I was lucky enough to try my first softie there and caught one. I was using a small jig head and soft lure (need to make a tutorial soon and I forget what size, sorry 😂). Maybe do not ever let the lure on the bottom too long?
@ keep losing my softbaits there but maybe leaving at the bottom too long. Please make a tutorial! Planning to go there maybe later for a cast!
Keep making videos bro. ❤
Chur Chur bro 🎣🇳🇿
Amazing. I'd love to fish around the Auckland area one day 😊
You're going to love it here, brother!
Is this reel good for offshore?
Yes bro, it is gonna be fine
@ Ok thank you… for some reason a bait shop said these reel will get chewed up with big fish in the open ocean like a Tuna or Wahoo
@ Now I understand why you are asking. If that is the case, I would recommend the non Live Liner Spinfisher or go to Slammer. Gonna be overall better..
@ Thank You and God bless you
@@AucklandFishingfacts 👍
How did you get the handle off
It was broken at the joint. The newer models usually have one piece handle. I was kinda use the broken handle to loosen the screw part and took it off from there.
Thought it was a kingi till…… yea haha
Hahaha it is always nice to have low expectation ay. Kingi was coming next though 😆
Nice kingfish
Thanks bro 🎣🇳🇿
what's the rod
Abu Garcia Veritas 7ft 6-10 KG 3PC travel rod
What rig and live bait
Yellow eye mullet, single hook, beak hook, with a very small ball sinker so the fish not roaming around under the pile
Excellent
Was lucky enough to land one
Nice brada
Churr Churr bro 🎣🇳🇿
awesome man, try whangaparoa in summer with live bait for kingfish. put a small float on the trace.
Bit limited in terms of traveling unless someone pick me up ay. But thanks for letting me know..
Did u land it bro ? Was it legal ?
Landed it, under 70, still chasing a legal one landbased here in AKL. Super hard bro 😆🤦🏻♂️🎣🇳🇿
@@AucklandFishing75cm is legal limit just in case you had it incorrect in your mind…. Great work landing any sized one on a wharf they fight dirty!! Keep at it and you’ll find a bigger model
@@KingsWithAndy I know it is supposed to be at least 75 that is why I said it is under 70 to signal it was far from 75 😆. Pretty fun with Kingi above 50 from wharf ay. Thanks bro :)
@AucklandFishing awesome brother 👏
First
How much per person on boat?
Varies, please check their Facebook brother
Would like your advice around charter boat snapper fishing around Auckland please. Are you allow to use braid? Also what weight sinkers do you generally use? Many thanks
Depending on the charters, most of them would prefer mono and with heavy sinkers 8-10 OZ
nice job 👌
The water is so warm for this time. Bring on the snapz !!
Yea bro! Always catch something good at this time of the year ay!
Had both and it's Shimano all day for me too. Still using my old 4500B as well as my Thunnus 1200 bloody good reels alright.
Thunnus is definitely the best Baitrunner out there. I wish it had seals ay.
@AucklandFishing Yeah your right, My next reel will be a Saragossa for the heavier drag and better seals.👍
@@shannonthompson8024 Same here, I am aiming for that one too ay..
Nice Haul 🤙
Yea bro 🎣🇳🇿
👌🎣🐟
Love fishing
Under the hull when dragging it can make holes. Or forget to put the plug in.
It was apparently because there is small crack under caused by the kayak falling from the car 😆
Hello I love your videos. My favorite technique is the sabiki. Do you have any tips or tricks to succeed? I’m going fishing with my family. Thank you🙋
Use burley, that will make a difference. A good sabiki can also make a difference. If certain color or size of sabiki doesn’t work, change it. That will also make a difference. Remember, fishing is fishing not catching. Good luck :)
Hello Sir, thank you for taking your time to answer me and for your advice. Happy holiday season in advance to you and your loved ones.
Where is the place and where can I go fish to catch the many fish
That's on a charter fishing boat somewhere in Auckland Harbour
Yea bro.. all charter boats in the Pier Z. We were going out in the Hauraki Gulf, 40 m deep
Bro that’s awesome I wish I had all the fish I’ll be eating fish all year
Stoked your fisheries are solid, mess of good eating there 🤙🏼
Yea bro.. we are blessed
IM THE KID IN THE ARMY HATTTTT😂😂😂😂😂 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You slayed that day bro!! Catching some great snaps. It was a great day for all of us ay.. 🎣🇳🇿
Yea
Slap a Gomexus power handle on there. Although, I am not sure if they make one for the Baitrunner.
End up getting one from Gomexus. They have a new plug-in reel handle designed specifically for the Baitrunner. It was released last year.
Spot
👌💞
Nice bro ❤
Spot
Nice bro
By getting a new reel? I mean there's not much you can do
The time it takes to set it up, and the speed rhat boat travelled... 😂😂 Just cast out like a normal person.
Would normally be used on lakes to get to spots you can’t cast to, like spots that have trees over hanging ect, in Europe they use it for carp fishing
Nice bro. My rule is if i feel i need to measure it to see if its legal then it goes back.
Yes bro, that would be even better.. sometimes it is always nice to measure aye
@@AucklandFishing especially the donkey snappers 😁
does anyone have a link to a place where i can find a cheap kingfish rig for live bait or deadbait or if anyone has a rig for both. I have a 6000 size reel (a pretty cheap one) and a pretty cheap rod as well. i've never caught a kingie and would really like to catch one. I'm in sydney and don't have a boat. thank you
