Thansk i can land any plane , anywhere except the f18 on MOM . Boy oh boy I struggle, 8/10 breaking the landing gear and missing the cable. Will try the trim potato approach.

Thanks very much for this video. I am fairly sh!te at all aspects of DCS but I do love it and so I'll keep trying until I can get it at least 'competent'. I fear my likelihood of being invited to Top Gun is as high as a snakes belly but nonetheless, I can now, at least, fly the correct AoA for the Hornet. Thanks a lot. All the best, Dave

I just started flying the F18. So far in DCS I am mostly flying the F15C &E, The Viper and just started the F22. I have been prepping to do carrier landing so I am trying to tighten up with better control of Speed and AOA. One vid a guy was flying it at 130 knots. I tried but in no way could do that. I see that I settle in at the very same speeds as you do for the most part. I'm going to watch this one a few more times because I am still having to use quite a bit of pitch control. Thank you.

I downloaded re shade for my 2.9 beta, the first time i opened dcs there was no reshade info? However i do have it showing on my desktop. How do i use it in dcs 2.9 if i cant access it fron.the sim itself?

The EASIEST way is just enable ATC when you slow to 140, couple bumps of up trim doesnt hurt either... Gear speed in the hornet is 250 FYI

This looks far, far easier than the High Drag Bombing tutorial mission for the F/A-18c. It wants you to use CCIP, stay at 550 knots / 300 radar ft (with hills surrounding), and the trucks are scattered here and there with no way to visibly see them until you're right up on the waypoint, with virtually no time to correct once they're visible at that speed. Using Auto to drop at whatever height and FLIR to exactly find the target in advance makes things so much easier.

i cant get it to work. when i select the 82 it doesent show the line and i cant use the camera targetting pod

Your profile looks awesome but how about an explanation of where to find all the relevant settings. I have reshade installed but I can't find half the settings you have adjusted!

Has anyone got reshade working in VR?

Stopped watching at 2:29. I have some advice if you want to make more tutorial videos: you can't change settings/modes of a system in the aircraft and not explain what control you're pressing to accomplish it if it isn't an obvious OSB/DDI/MPD pushbutton. If you're trying to skip over absolute beginners, you don't have to explaining what the core HOTAS controls are and you can just say "sensor control switch up," "weapon select switch left," or even just 'TDC depress' and many will understand, but not saying what you're doing at all will leave everyone confused. If I have to figure out what HOTAS control you're pressing, then this video has done nothing more than maybe show me something is possible, but it has done a poor job of actually teaching me how to do it. If I expect this from you, I'll actively avoid your videos. That is to say: first impression makes a big difference. I tend to give 2-3 before giving up.

There is about a half sec delay on throttle inputs also, so if you add throttle as soon as the indicator starts to rise you want to decrease throttle a hair to counter it. It's the same with AAR.

I downloaded your preset and been using it since. The only thing I disabled was the bloom & color correction since it atleast for me gave some weird purple tints at some points. Tried many other presets but yours was the perfect one.

Being a 21 yr Navy vet, with many of those years at sea as a Naval Aircrewman I can say that.... Your reshade is on point! The sun and haze so many times would drown out colors. Now, I would be interested to see what evening/overcast looks like with this.
