The 2nd July 2024 was the final day that the cross-border Enterprise, connecting Belfast and Dublin, operated out of Lanyon Place station after 48 years of service.
This was also the final day trains ran through Botanic before the seven week line closure for railway engineering works ahead of the opening of the brand new Grand Central transport hub, which is scheduled to open in the autumn.
Enterprise services, which began in 1947 and first operated out of the GNRI's Great Victoria Street station, were moved in April 1976 to the brand new Lanyon Place station, formerly known until 2018 as Belfast Central.
