Turn the power up and mic compression on, you'll get nowhere running it like that
Hi, can you linked the antennas under the video please?
Great radio
Would a metal roof be an acceptable counterpoise?
Wow much antena
I have a pair and they are very good. Worth the money. I like my 15 x 70 better, they are easier to focus. But the 25 x 70 would be a little better for astronomy. I tried mine on a heavy duty tripod and went back to using a telescope. But my answer is if I did not have a pair of 23 x 70 I would buy them again. But still prefer the 15 x 70 for going to the river to view barges etc. But when I looked yesterday they were sold out of the 15 x 70 on amazon. But had the 25 x 70.
With a direct & inverse correlation to already poor battery life.
why type of antenna do you use for outside
I have mine set for scanning repeaters - 2I0IJN - 73
But it seems that your scanning only a specific zone and not all the frequencies you've got saved reaching to 222 if I saw that right lol
hello. I bought a Kenwood thf6a radio on eBay. I want to ask you what you would look for to know if the radio is operational and in good internal condition? What things indicate that a radio is bad? This without having to open it and examine it, but through a transmission/reception test? What else can be done or tested? greetings from Chile
Worked N7PP yesterday from my Portable Setup. 12 and 15m were the booming Bands. 20m was not that great I do not know why. 73 de Uncle Günter across the Pond 🙋♂
Upgraded mine the other day it’s pretty cool 73
Great tips
I have a D75A Tribander with D-Star,
did you see the moons visually? Surely but had to tweak focus for the cell phone video? very cool! have fun
Wtf???
Great Audio 👍
Government regulated radio
I’m considering getting this radio as my first DMR radio for use with a MMDVM hotspot running WPSD. I have two D-Star ICOMs, but I can’t do cross system with it to YSF or DMR. Everywhere I’m reading though it that people are saying “don’t start out with DMR - it’s hard.” Go with YSF - of course, I have a FT-710 which doesn’t have UHF/VHF. Do you have one your prefer?

Hi Seamus it's a grate shame that you couldn't use a G5RV antenna from your balcony down to the trees and you probably would hammer out on all of the main HF bands I would ask your nabors if you could do that put some kind of wire antenna in the garden below and connect a run of coax up to your balcony in to your shack that's what I'd do but it's up to yourself what you want to do and what your happy with OK. Thanks and best 73's for now cheers. Stephen M3SNV 73's.
i have G90 in a Allen Company Cottonwood Fly Fishing Rod & Gear Bag Case, Hold up to 4 Fishing Rods, Heavy-Duty Honeycomb Frame, Olive for my rig, battery 6amp, and antennas.
amazon.
It is not a 20 Amp Battery. 160 Watt hours pencils out at 13.3 Amps.....
I've worn a kilt once or twice...
How long does that battery last?
What mount is that? I have that same radio.
Same question
That's quite the HT collection you have there. Glad to see you making some contacts.
Thanks for the reminder of the shortwave😅
Good luck converting the business radios without someone showing you how in person.
I love depending on overseas corporations to make equipment for my hobby.
They won't make equipment for them.
I hope they keep this radio. just update it. no need for the sweep button. and maybe a little bigger screen.
Watched your video. Have 4 220 MHZ radios and I also think Hustler is a good brand. My name is Jack Daniel / KF5SGC. Thanks and 73.
I like this content
Cool.
Mic gain 15, and do longer overs. Folk have only 4 seconds to see your transmission and get back to you.
I had no idea they were in Kirkland!
As a newbie, EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
Great video the only problem that I see with this idea is if you want / need to have it connected to Sentinel. Keep up the great videos.
Id like to see what it looks like in a car
I have a PL330. Using a resonant vertical for 40 and 20 meters in my backyard, I've never heard anything but birdies and noise on this radio. It picks up FM broadcast stations great, though. My HAM rig picks up tons of stuff on both frequencies and the same antenna. I've never had much luck with DSP or SDR receivers, though.
20 years in army. I saw some winners and losers but some thing like the 330 would have been placed in the top drawer in my kit. I used to carry around a rig it's name was the standard of Japan. The 330 was a change with the digital chip. Runs rings around it. Both are in my stable. 😊
shame its all in the dark good video sir
I use 220 pretty often, in Ohio. Just hooked up 900mhz system tonight, but cannot hit a repeater about 10 miles away. I'll worry about 1.2ghz after I get a 900 contact..
Oh, hey, one of those hams is me! :)
Thank you for the chat! I'm now on this network with a few radios!
@@N7MYW Awesome sauce!
God I love this radio!
This is good
Excellent video
whats better one?
