The intro is a bit too obvious with the Gershwin quote, and the piece would be fine without it.

Sedative omg I was looking at the jazz clarinet concertos from Shaw and Calandretti and discovered this. Saw MSU, immediately thought of him with us at region and then again at state. Such a pleasure working with him!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see any horns scored for this piece. Elegy II. is very lyrical and charming. Will need a few more listening sessions to fully appreciate first movt. Not connecting with me.

This is a really fabulous performance! Thank you, MSU players for your fabulous playing, thank you Guy Yehuda, for such superb artistry and intensity and excitement, and thank you Kevin Sedatole, for your stunning interpretation of the concerto. You always seem to get my music and I'm grateful for that.

Corigliano is truly American .He makes our music reminiscent of jazz as well as Appalchian slow tugboats and Nevada deserts at 3minute.I love this music!Why so many boys play viola cello but not violins?

Very fine job on clearly one the most difficult pieces in the entire repertoire. Lucky to have Corigliano there!
