1997 was the middle year, not the early designs, or the late revisions. So I had minimal resources because it was barely enough coverage for this year I still get the code, after touching every hose, component, etc. I’ll begin to look over it again this summer. This one had only the rollover valve, which just was for the event the car to “roll over” the fuel was cut from spilling all over, they had been replaced twice. That being said, I believe it would just be a recurring problem for only the 97 years. evap monitor only happens within a certain parameter. Fuel 3/4~1/4, certain speeds, engine coolant temp, etc. I been able to smog it in California but not sure the future if the problem keeps persisting. No other engine codes, just evap. If you plan to keep the car I’d say do what you want to it. I started like that too where I didn’t watch how I was wiring the stereo or if you plan to run a different stereo in the future

Depends on your trim model. I have the RS so it’s basically just 2 wires for the speakers and nothing else was there. If you have a wiring diagram that helps a lot, there is also a white plug I believe is for weather proofing you can take that out so you have better access Make sure the wires are not tight when you open and close your door. This way, it makes sure the connections you are making between the door and the body is good. Goodluck!

What I would do in your situation is use either a heat shrink large enough to fit around the whole harness or heashrink each wire individually. But you might have to undo the wiring to get them to each wire

Thanks! Originally, I did some fluorescent orange spray paint with a high heat primer. It did last quite a while, just wanted to change the color again. Despite people saying no high heat spray paint is going to last. If you have the chance to powder coat, that is a very good, durable choice when you want to paint something

Its redone by me, its actually black now because it was failing in a couple of areas. I’m planning to do a whole new foam layer so the material adheres to it properly

Hey thanks for watching! If your car doesn’t come with the power windows, all you need to is remove the old hand crank assembly, then add the motor powered window system (I got mine from rockauto). You will need your same glass I believe for 97-99. If you can get new hardware, there are only 2 bolts holes we don’t use if you have the same year model. For wiring, your going to make a new harness from the door connector and find which wire does what, use a power probe or something so you don’t drain your battery. If you really don’t want to do all that, then I would suggest getting a whole new powered window/mirror/locks whole door, from a donor car/junkyard. This method would be the easiest because you literally have the door hinge bolts and then your connector you just connect Make sure you have the correct fuse/relays should be connected before testing. I have an e brake, I just grabbed the whole cable all the way to the handbrake area where it connects under the center console You don’t HAVE to use this method, but some people have encountered that the e brake cable is too long/short or big/small for the brake drums in the back

Those seem to be no used in the radio wiring, only use the ones for the radio, because they might cause issues electrically later on

Eventually I went over the hoses again, they are different diameters and bends to some so I just went to the junkyard to find good condition ones. EVAP is complete as of now, it doesn’t give me an evap leak code anymore, and this is after driving so much more This will cause the computer to learn after so many drive cycles, it’s a 90’s computer after all

@lamarsnodgrass1242 really depends on the type of electrical tape, vinyl with a high enough elasticity would allow some stretch and it would come back to its original form I used the cheap ones here and there, it does the job but I’ve noticed the stretch is not that present in the cheaper rolls. But test yourself, and come up to your own conclusions on which one works best for you.
