Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don't try to shoot the lights out. I’m invested in ETFs, equity index funds, and individual stocks and use a CFA. On average, she takes 10% of earnings, but using *Lina Dineikiene's* system makes it much more hands-off. I conservatively follow her recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this makes it fairly simple for me... I am convinced it's not just hard work but smart work :-)

Apart from costs, I always look at the reporting features of a GIA account. What capital gains have I made in the current year so far? What dividends have been paid in the current year so far? Estimate of total dividends by end of tax year. These are questions which I need answers to at least a few months BEFORE the end of the tax year. Some platforms make this very hard! Another difficult Q for some is 'how much am I up overall on portfolio account? - i.e. current unrealised value - amount cash invested - and also %age gain and average gain. Also some platforms take months to get a tax report doc ready and then don't include taxable interest payments!

Like this approach nothing like experimenting with cash to find out how they deliver. IE would appeal to newr investors personally i like a fund with a low TER and sometimes sit a same sector quality factor ETF alongside for comparison. Currently testing out T212 with regular investment as well to see if i can set up a portfolio I am happy with and maybe transfer in from a more expensive ISA.

I am trying them both on to see how we find the ease of investing costs and choices. Thus far IE has been the most straight forward though I do like the T212 cash ISA option. I have funds with both Fidelity and Vanguard and am considering Transferring out eventually. Though no platform will see more than the 80k that's guaranteed. What are they missing? Well though I don't qualify but a Equity LISA/ help to buy would attract newer investors. I have found that with T212 you can find yourself in a fund that is priced in a foreign currency so a filter would be good. Interestingly you don't seem to push a referral code .

Hello David. Firstly thanks for the time you have spent on this. 1. Did you move to T212 or do you still use IE for your 2024/25 S&S ISA? 2. Are we able to ‘copy’ your portfolio on IE (does it have that facility? 3. Would be great to see your entire holding range across all your funds. 4. Did you whack in the whole £20k at the start of the FY? Or do you drip it in?

      1. Can use both. You can now split you ISA allowance across as many platforms as you want. 2. No, can't copy it. You can see the allocations, but not copy it as such 3. I'm probably not going to get into my entire investments. The internet has too many over-shares as it is! 4. No, I don't have that kind of spare money to drop 20k at the start. I would if I could, but I just invest as and when I can Thanks for watching

I have an ISA with Vanguard UK and I wanna like them more (havent had any issues with their CS) but their site is a bit odd to use. Normally I hardly notice it when I rarely visit it but sorting out some consolidation of funds and new trasnfers reminded me of that fact.
