DIY "Painted Arch" Headboard only $20 | Make your own headboard for CHEAP | Dorm Decor DIY
Rounding off the Making to Move series, I tackle a DIY headboard to give my new bedroom some color and depth. Using the Pinterest-popular painted arch aesthetic and applying it to this super cheap DIY, it is perfect for college dorms!
All you need is a big cardboard box (easy-peasy for online shopping lovers like me,) fabric (or cheap Target sheets,) and foam padding. Hot glue secures the project together and then it's ready to be showcases in your room.

I saw that the dishwasher safe mod pog is not food safe and should not go all the way up the mug to where the lips would touch. Any suggestions?
Cute… another easy way to get that adhesive is use 90% rubbing alcohol or even bleach but make sure to wash thoroughly again before storing any food in it. Comes off super easy I prefer the bleach if I’m in a hurry. I use this to get price stickers off and works great. On glass either is perfect. Great video and thanks for ur idea!!

Your bread box looks so good. I have a few bread boxes that needs a make over but im a little scared that it might not be food safe. What paint did you use and was it food safe. Tx
Nice idea. I do this on ceramic tiles. Do you mod podge before or after heating the mugs. Also, do you heat at a low temp for 2 hrs. I had read (and done) 400° for 45 minutes. Does it matter?

Se llama Mod Podge - parece como una cola blanca que al secar se hace transparente y cuando se calienta en el horno se solidifica creando una capa permanente que protege la pintura - espero que esto te ayude 😊

@@Mkcab9 Según lo que he visto por internet y creo que es cierto, no es apto para alimentos, así que asegúrese de dejar siempre espacio para que sus labios no lo toquen cuando beba de una taza o vaso hecho a mano. Supongo que por los residuos que poco a poco pueden ir soltándose con los lavados.

Will the design last? Since you said hand sanitizer will wipe it off
When you bake it the design becomes permanent! I can say though after months of continued use it has now began to chip away. I would recommend limiting the dishwasher despite the fact its “dishwasher safe”!
How long did you wait before you apply the mod podge? I watched other videos that do it different paint, bake then mod podge. Now I’m confused 🥺

I’m pretty sure it just has to dry completely before coating.
Hi!! Yes you have to wait for it to dry but that happens pretty quick. For the triangle cup it dried within minutes but for the stars and lightning one since it was thicker coats we waited about 30 min! You can bake with just the sharpie but its less permanent!

This is a great idea but be careful using spray paint inside the jars that is toxic paint & it shouldn't be in contact with food. Quick way to fix the jars with paint inside you can probably use steel wool or a Razer blade on the inside to get the paint out so they stay food safe. You did a really cute job though! 😆🖌😊

This is a stupid question but those tea jars, do you put straight tea leaves in there or do you buy the tea bags and store them in there?
Haha not stupid at all!! I drink loose leaf so I put them right in! Same with the coffee, I’ll throw my whole 2 lbs bag right in. I don’t see any reason though why you couldn’t do this to disguise the bags instead though!
