You could save paint and just use a wet rag to drag along the tape which creates the seal. Same concept but you save paint

Why would I go buy background paint just to do this? What if it’s old paint you can’t replicate? Seems to only work if it’s a white background paint

I used the hinge cups instead of making new holes. But yes that’s a sprayer that i use.

This is fake. She repainted the edge on the right side chick softened up the bottom layer and it tore off cleanly. The one on the left she didn’t go over the edge n the second coat. The bottom white does help hide any bleed. But it does not tell the whole story.

You ruined a nice natural stone

Holding the cardboard still on the 2nd pull also helped.

It just doesn't make sense though to paint with the current color first, most of the time people don't have the current color still.

Do the foundation work now

Sometimes the paint will bleed through, that’s why it’s best to learn the technique of cutting it without taping it, specially if you’re working on a budget.
