I love the star for audacity idea! both as a way to tangibly track how you're doing against this goal, but also so that somewhere down the line you'll be able to open them again and reread what happened think "wow I really had audacity!" hahaha
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, because I am sure that, like myself, a lot of artists resonate with you.
I very recently watched a video from another creative that said: "i use planning as a form of procrastination" and I think that is very true for a lot of us, what everyone says is JUST START and "start before you are ready" but obviously that's easier said than done. I definitely have to apply that to myself as well since I've been wanting to start a yt channel for a while but can't seem to get it rolling, hopefully this is the year
I 100% agree, often it's just the /starting/ that's the challenge above all else! Something that's really helped me get going this last month is the idea that the only way anyone has achieved anything is through one daily action at a time. So instead of focusing on what I need to do, I just ask myself "what do I have the capacity to do right in this moment." I really resonated with what you had to say in this video. I have been wanting to write and illustrate a children’s book for about 5 years now, which is embarrassing to say. It’s so hard to self motivate when you are the only one involved in the project.
Definitely, I get that! Especially with how easy it is for life to get in the way. I hope you manage to make a little progress (even if it's just a few sketches) this year. I've also found looking for a friend or another artist to collaborate with helps a lot!

@@fancysmudges In terms of personal goals related to art... I finally started sharing stuff a few years ago! It's not quite there yet but it will be! btw 12 videos is a huge goal! I found out that 52 or 53 (and then 104 or 106) is actually a lot more manageable for me because I don't stress about them lol the quality ends up getting cut in half :/ but after another set of videos it's back up to the same quality level as before!
