Why don't you try pants only BJJ?

So do you guys think it’s wrong to cross train?? I am a blue currently training at an academy near my home and 100% happy there. Have an opportunity to assistant coach and train for free at a gym 45 min away in town where I went to college. I want to train at both and have no conflict. What is peoples opinions??? Thank you.

I train in a Gracie ctc. Actually we also do sports jiujitsu. Just last week we were drilling berimbolos. It’s just that we do self defence jiujitsu at the very beginning. The mindset is a sports jiujitsu guy can defend themselves effectively at maybe purple belt level. While the Gracie brother’s desire is they want their ctc guys to be able to do it as a fresh blue belt.

the red belt is more of a joke than anything tbh. all the guys wearing it would get tapped to most black belts no problem. it's actually quite embarrassing a belt.

If are a street fight are 50/50 the Fighter with better timing will win if there's no rules but if is a sport match is bad news for Taekwondo.

Unless we're talking about very subtle differences, there aren't 3200 different techniques in any martial art. That's just absurd, unless once again we're talking very tiny differences between various techniques. AI videos are horrible.

Any coach will say "play your game" or something like that, meaning make the fight stay where you are the best. If TKD guy knows nothing about grappling and BJJ nothing about striking then the one who stays in their fighting range wins. But, as far as I know BJJ has ways to take down, TKD doesn't know how to stand up. Anyway, wins the one who sticks to their guns.

I've trained in several martial arts such as Taekwondo, Muay Thai and BJJ. If we are talking about an MMA fight all arts have their place but if we talk strictly about styles and a fight between a BJJ black belt and a Taekwondo black belt i think the BJJ guy wins 99 out of a 100 times. All it could take is a missed kick followed by a takedown and once on the floor... well we all know how that ends.

Don’t do this sport. Do wrestling or judo instead they are more safer and don’t cost your bones. This is no easy game.

Rolling/sparring with someone who was trying to "win" has lead to so many nights driving home in pain and waking up sore. Working with someone who has a give and take mindset (humbly taps when caught, holds submissions firm but doesn't crank them, and respects the pace and any injured areas of his partner) makes for a great session.

Tap early and tap often. I tap as soon as someone has the grips to perform the choke or submission. No point in prolonging the inevitable, I put myself in a bad spot so I’ll tap and reset. They don’t hand medals out in class for not tapping to submissions. Be careful y’all and please take care of each other. Especially your training partners, why hurt the people that are in the trenches with you everyday.

I believe there are 3 types. Competitive athletes, hobbyists, and then people who are training for work. Law enforcement, security guards, military, etc. I know my gym has a healthy number of police officers.

Judo and jiujitsu don't share the same origin. Jiujitsu origins are a 100% in judo. This video is all disinformation.

I saw GI guys get destroyed in MMA training, and by novice wrestlers. That was when I realized that GI Jiu Jitsu was not as good as what people mentioned. Many GI guys without the grips were lost in NO GI scenarios.

Standing wise Judo is a solid art , jiu-jitsu once they go down to the ground it's more beneficial to the streets the older generation always say it's not about styles it's about the individual who can adapt in to judo or bjj the all around grappler or martial arts who has no weakness in to his or her game people trying to compare wrestling to judo or jiu-jitsu to sumbo saying that their martial arts is better there's no such thing as a better martial arts or style

I'm brown belt in both and I would say that judo is trash now a days 😂
