A POV skiing tour of THE LEGEND | Arapahoe Basin
Arapahoe Basin is a resort I use to ski a lot, but this is the first time I cruised there. Unpopular opinion, but the greatest resort in Colorado would be Keystone and ABasin connected together. Anyway, the Legend is a fun place, especially if you’re in hiking shape.

      Copper ranges from 9700ft to 12300ft. You would need to adjust to it if you’re coming from a low elevation state. You’d probably have better luck at steamboat which is at a lower elevation.

      lol, yeah, Steamboat is an interesting mountain. Adding Wild Blue and putting a lift on Mahogany have been controversial to some of my local friends here. Still, I’m a fan, but I do miss Keystone’s long and fast cruisers… that’s the one thing missing here. The longest fast runs take only a 1-3 minutes to get down at Steamboat where Keystone’s were 5-7 minutes. However, I do like the chutes, the trees, and hike terrain here. It’s a fun mountain!

    Ah. I finally found your new channel. I like the POV vids with slope information but also other types of vids as well. It keeps things interesting. We really liked the 3 Keystone videos as they were very instructional since we were going to Keystone to teach our daughter to ski in (2020) and I had not been to keystone since the 90’s. It may have been your knowledge of the resort that made them so good. If you’re adding the epic pass next year try to get Beaver Creek in as well. We hope to get there in the next couple of years. Thanks Kyle.

      I’m just trying to build this channel this winter. Because I still do a lot of the work on the off-road channel, I am getting a little pushback for devoting time to this one. Still, I’m about to finally get time off, I love skiing, and this channel is getting me healthy again… so I’ll keep it going. This channel will eventually be in person ski guides of all the Colorado/Utah/New Mexico resorts like the keystone vids. I think they’ll be better than the keystone videos and I’m going to evolve them a little (I’ll experiment a little this winter). Next winter I’ll recruit my friends to be the subjects of these videos (like the other off-road vehicles in the overland vids). People seem to like POVs so I’ll do those too. The POVs are also useful for me as I reacquaint myself with all the resorts and work on fine tuning my skiing. I might have two non-POVs and one Winter Park POV this week… just depends on my job. Glad you’re here.

    The BOA is great for those skiers that want an option. I ski with it on the Fischer RC4 MV 130. The BOA enables you to have micro adjustments and it allows the shell to close nicely over your foot. I for one endorse it. Just my opinion.

    Huge fan of the BOA system on snowboard boots (I'll never go back to laces or speed laces) and I'm fairly confident they will work well for ski boots also. I understand dual BOA ski boots are on their way also.

    • @coloradoplankers
      @coloradoplankers 5 месяцев назад

      The new system is quite beefy. I’m not sure I’d use it on the upper part as I like buckles there (it’s where ski power really comes from). However, I’m truly loving it for the lower part. So much flexibility and quick to adjust while skiing.

      These are my boots too! Skied in them for two weeks now, boa fit is better than traditional clips for me. I feel more in control of the ski and have more sensitivity in my feet to make tiny adjustments in pressure, edging and rotation.
