Top of the line in 1969. Fully restored Z960. The record changer was made by Zenith. It is both belt and idler wheel driven to isolate motor rumble. Is has a pop out dust brush and a short arm to check the record size. The 45 adapter pops up from the platter when needed.
RECORD PLAYER IS A 1962 MODEL
@@mm-xu5df nope. Not according to the model # and catalog.
That looks like it was expensive when brand new
Around $500.....thats $5000 in todays $
I inherited my dads Magnavox version of the Zenith Circle of Sound, Magnavox's speakers were square and has two cones, one on the topwas right side up like the Zenith and the bottom cone was upside down. The record changer tone arm taps the edge of the record to measure it before dropping it, had it serviced and re-lubricated and sounds great. My brother still has his Zenith Circle of Sound and it also plays wonderfully. Great video!!
Can you post the model # of that console please? I'd love to research a manual for it and find out what "Brilliance" does for it.
It’s a z960. Brilliance is mid range tone control in simple terms.
Hermosó combinado (aca en argentina le desimos asi).!!!
Very nice
thx
Nice console but you are playing that LP using the 78 rpm record stylus..
thanks but your wrong....I have a 33/45 on both sides.
멋 져요...~~!!!
I had one very similar to this. Was my first console (since the 70s). The LP spindle and the 45 adapter NEVER jammed or failed. Was an awesome unit.
That sounds amazing, esp considering its original 45s. What an awesome console. I love that turntable.
The TT obviously has a speed issue …. Wow and flutter all the time…
Looks good I'm trying to lowball one these
Thanks I've got one it's a bit different but similar I'd like to get fixed thanks 👍🇺🇸
Buying A Stereo Console Was Like Buying A Pice Of Furniture. But With Awesome Sound!
Curious if your record player worked when you got it or if you did the repairs. I recently purchased one and the tuner works but not the turntable.
It worked somewhat but required restoration as all of these old changers do. There are people out there you can send them to but not me. Check my FB group Zenith Console Society. Someone there will help you,
@@gregsvintageconsoles3673 thank you . I will check it out.
the Zenith console Turntables sounded so good, and the turntables were near perfection with those light weight styluses
NO SHOWING OF THE COMPONENTS INSIDE THE CONSOLE?
That was a very short look at the inside for sure.
Wonderful!
I have this exact mid-century modern Kipp Stewart-designed walnut Drexel Declarations Motorola stereo-console. I am interested in selling it. Location: Northern Virginia.
Where are you located? Have a Concert grand I would like to have fully restored.
I dont work on other peoples consoles....sorry.
Still have this Zenith?
Yep its part of my personal collection ...its in my living room.
1960
Exactly... 1957 would have been "mono"...
Sam Cooke
That's really beautiful. I've never seen one like that Greg.
That console is beautiful
Do you have a Bluetooth unit in your console? Your console is beautiful
yes...the video starts out streaming on bluetooth.then I switch back to it at the end.
Looks beautiful. Great clear sound!❤
Amazing
텐테이블 회전판 고무플리 구 할수 있나요?
Man, does this bring back memories. We had that very console, except for the insides. Don't know the exact history of how we got it. Would have been in the late 1960s, I believe. We had it gutted, but kept the woofer in place, not using it. Instead, he had someone build a custom holder for a Dual 1219 record changer, and where the electronics were, he had installed a McIntosh integrated amp sideways, I think maybe a little lower to allow for some extra storage space in there. Had a top-loading cassette deck that sat on the outside. Speakers were Acoustic Research AR3a, attached to the wall about 5' high. Just had the McIntosh restored. Wish I could find another cabinet like this. I think this looks so more classy/nice than all of the others of that vintage. Great to see what the original electronics looked like. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Mahogany console record player.
Great video Greg! I have one of these as well, my parents bought new I think in 1959. I was 2 years old and I'm 66 now. Your Imperial is absolutely beautiful, very nice work. My Imperial is in pretty good shape for the age. It survived three boys growing up in that house! Thanks for sharing!
I have a console that looks IDENTICAL to this, but the knobs are different. Instead of flat discs, they are more narrow cylinders - black on the sides, gold in the center. Could it still be the same model?
probably a 1960
Love Dual. I own 10. Two of them 1215S and two are 1216s. They are the closest to the 1209. Mine have the same plinth
nice
I just picked up this console from an estate sale and am looking into restoring it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I was born seven years after that was made
Nice sound
You need much larger floor-standing 3 way speakers from Klipsch (they have a terrific website) to realize the magnificent performance of the legendary AR-1500.
Beautiful collection !
We had a 67 console with 25" color TV. The TV didn't last, they had a lot of problems, but the solid state Astro sonic stereo sounded great, good base through treble and would get loud. That's a beautiful console, and really nice restoration.
The storage for the records can be removed and an 8-track option installed in the spot.
no...wasnt available with this model
8 Tracks sound terrible.
Great sound!!!
Had a neighbor who had one of these in the late 60's. To this day, I recall what a wonderful, full sound it put out. My modern system cannot match it.
Back in the late 50's if a family had one of these it was special!
I see you can connect it to your hitch and have music as you drive!
Zenith really went all the way in control panel designs not just everything else. This one looks impressive of course.
Who needs a fancy living room for this baby, when you can crank it up sitting on a 2-wheel trailer?
Promo*SM 😥
Can you arrange a spare part of this system?
no
The sound is amazing. I have a console ( we call them radiograms in the UK) and it's the same age as me:65. Still going strong! It has AM/FM radio (known as Long Wave, Medium Wave and VHF in 1955) and a BSR autochange deck. It's also stereo. Although my dad's old rock n' roll 45s are mono, the sound of them playing on my old faithfull Ferguson radiogram cannot be surpassed. These things were certainly built to last.
