I am thrilled to announce the release of my latest soprano mouthpiece, the OPEN SKY SL, inspired by the great Steve Lacy and designed to play with ease and depth.
Like Steve's piece, the OPEN SKY SL has NO BAFFLE at all. The chamber opens up immediately after the tip and the medium chamber finishes with a distinctive and important "racetrack oval" throat, like Steve's piece.
The end result is a piece that plays big, with impeccable intonation, with quick, sure response throughout the range of the horn and with a neutral tone that lets the player add brightness or darkness as required. This is a real thoroughbred mouthpiece.
