I saw this picture with the caption, "sludgy downtempo Smash Mouth playing" so I made a sludgy downtempo version of the song. Recorded on potato.

2007 Mini Cooper S - Crankshaft Position Sensor
Просмотров 64 тыс.6 лет назад
This is how to find and replace the crankshaft position sensor (CPS) on a 2007 Mini Cooper S. The original, unedited video is just over 8 minutes long so, with lifting/lowering time, the whole job took about 20 minutes. I decided to try a voice-over narration cuz I didn't want my neighbors thinking I'm crazy and talking to myself under my car. Enjoy!
67 VW bug driver door fix

I used to have to reach into my car to open the door until I devised this quick fix. I'm sure you could mirror this for your passenger door handle! Note: removing this mechanism is a whole different beast which I'm sure someone else has already covered.

Great thanks to RUclipsr Jeff Hawes, REALLY got me through. My only gripe was not seeing the sensor and placement but, I'm just a visual learner like that. So here you all go!

My homemade air filter setup for my 1985 Yamaha Maxim XJ700.
Thank you for a well narrated tutorial! Appreciate you!!
When you make this modification it puts the spring in the way of allowing the door to Lock correctly .your door will open even if you are in the locked position
Obrigado amigo Deus lhe abençoe sempre 🙏
Legend!😂
Most helpful video I’ve seen yet . Every other video was dark blurry camera angles but you got it focused right on what we need to see. Thank you
Do you know How to open a door if is stuck closed?
I'm not 100% sure, sorry
How do you get it off. Does it just fall out after you take the hex bolts out? My 93 has this issue thank you.
You should be able to just pull it out, there may be some resistance if the o-ring is sticky
Thanks for the info! Did mine today and it took about the same amount of time (8 to 9 min)
I can’t get my computer to unplug any suggestions?
Pull harder? Maybe a little WD-40 around the seem and some "percussive maintenance" on the harness...
Thanks for sharing. This is by far the best video I've seen on.
This for when u close the door pop out it self?
If I remember correctly, it's to make sure the door opens when you push the button. I guess that would mean that the button pops back out when you close the door.
Ok thanks allot bro for info.👍
you speak very quietly can't get it loud enough
Sorry you had trouble with the audio
Gracias
Hello I have a problem with my 2010 Mini Cooper I’m guessing it might be this it gave me this code P0705 check engine came up won’t go over 20 miles and if I stop and put it on park won’t let me go back to drive and this is the code it gave me, could this be the same issue you had ??
Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact symptoms I had when I made this video. 2010 should be in the same generation as 07 though, so as long as you have the 1.6l turbo (without 4 wheel drive) this sensor sounds be in the same place. Good luck!
@@v_twin_villain i think my problem is the transmission range sensor do you happened to know where it’s located or how I can access it I can’t find anything on RUclips ??
Hahaha, so much truth:: "a bunch of dark camera angels and people who don't know how to use their flash..." ruclips.net/video/g4v1CYA6t20/видео.html. Thanks for the vid!!
Love your video and info now how to get that out my door
Thanks for the great video. Is there an O ring on the sensor?
Nope!
I just got this done. Bite the bullet and take the passenger side valve cover off after removing the passenger side spark plug wires and coil wire, the exhaust manifold heat shield, and radiator overflow tank. Once this is done, your hands have plenty of room to fly blind. Use one of those mini ratchets with an extension with a 1/4" allen head to break the mounting bolts. If you have the original 3/8 inch thick sensor mount and the replacement is 1/8 thick, go get two 1/2" hex head bolts rather than the 3/4" bolts that you take out of the engine. I think they are 5/16 x 24 coarse. You can check them at the hardware store if you bring the originals in. This was by far one of the biggest POS jobs I have ever done! I tried to do it with the valve cover in place but finally said screw it and removed it!
esto le gusta a joni
thanks, get a little tripod, would help you
Great vid, thanks! I probably have the same location on citroen c3 picasso
does this apply also to a 2010 mini cooper clubman s ?
Unfortunately, I don't know for sure.
Thank-you for this..
Thank You!!!!! $55.00 part & No Labor Cost! Praise The Lord!!!!
Yeah I just went out least it's in the yard. 287000 she's a good old truck think I'm just gonna cut a hole in the floor board and peel it back make it easier myself....
Dude omg you already know how fucking awsome this vid is. Thank you so much I was struggling to find mine as well
On my 93 Grand Cherokee I didn't have to remove nothing but some wires😂
Have you tried your door locks with this fix? I’m trying it myself and it seems like bending the spring and adding the jacket to it allows the door to unlock with the push knob for the door lock in the locked position. Maybe my mechanism functions differently than yours. Not sure. Mine is also a 67 bug.
Man, honestly, I never locked my doors cuz I bought the car with only 1 key that only started it... Hahahaha
Well, speaking for myself, this rendered my locks useless. I don’t disagree it makes the latching mechanism work more smoothly, but at the same time it makes the door locks useless. And because there is little leverage in there, I can’t really bend it back. You win some, you lose some. Thanks for the feedback.
Very helpful video but how were you able to break the bolts free that’s holding the sensor in place? I don’t see how there’s enough room to turn the Allen key let alone break away the bolts
I may have used a socket and ratchet - sorry, I don't exactly remember...
How to test crank sensor crank sensor
Sorry, I don't know of any test for the sensor.
is this an all 4 ?
What do you mean?
Villain Jose like 4 wheel drive. or is it 2 wheel ?
Villain Jose i got a countryman all 4 and i can’t find the crankshaft sensor on it
@@ericbeann oh ok, that I don't know, sorry
Luckily for me I didn't have to remove nothing I'm 6-5😊
Thanks for the video!! Now you saved my life!! 👌
Would this work for the 97 as well?
As long as you have the same motor, yes. The bolts may vary from allen to hex, though...depends on whether the sensor has been changed before or not.
Alrighty I do have the 5.2 I will check that out. Thank you so much
Thanks dude ..i knew where it was but after actually looking for it i had no idea about the allen head bolts👍
Best video by far showing exactly where the sensor at.
Great video. I just want to say.... Fuck you Jeep for the placement of this sensor! What a nightmare.
Both of mine are not doing good I will try this thanks
If only i had seen this before spending an hour trying to get a socket on those bolts.
Doooood...hahahaha
Really good video! Answered all my questions, now all I have to do is become "Rubberman" and figure a way in that ridiculous location!
But I showed you EXACTLY how to get to it!?
@@v_twin_villain I know, I am just saying it is in a hard place to get too. You included the most info on this!
Hey man quick question what did you do with the vacuum line that goes from the air box down by the clutch?? Does that just hang free
Sorry, I have no idea - been a long time...
Nice fix
What tool did you use to get the bolts out from the sensor? The1/4 bolts,
Allen key on mine
@@v_twin_villain thank you, and great video, really appreciate it!
OMG you have saved me! been looking for months on how to get to this and havent found anything good till now. thank you
I’m looking for which wire to plug in to the end of the cps
At 2:58 you can see me touching the plug your looking for. It may be on top of the bell housing or possibly on the driver side of the bell. You can see how long that plug is so, try to look in that range of area around the bell. Good luck!
You saved my life showing me what them both look like and where to look
I am your only sub that comments RIP
Nice lookin old bike mate
Thanks!
Onya mate
Thanks best vid I have found.
