An Eine Äolscharfe - Brahms - Performance

Please enjoy my work in progress! I love this piece as it challenges me in these areas: 1. Breath! Some spots have lots of breath and others are very long floating phrases. I am currently singing slightly above tempo just so I don’t pass out! 2. German - I love German and there are some new words for me here as well as some consonant clusters higher in my range that are good to practice. 3. It’...

This is a video to help you learn the notes and rhythms for "My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music. TIPS: 1. Remember to start on a vowel with NO lyrics at first! Learn the notes and rhythms and THEN add the words. Be sure you listen to the notes and their relationships closely to be sure you're accurate, especially if you're already familiar with the song. 2. Once you're comfortable with...

This video will help you practice the song "I Have Confidence" from The Sound of Music. TIPS: 1. If you're just starting out learning this song, don't worry about the words yet. Just sing it on "oooh" "aaahhh" or "eee" at first to learn notes and rhythms. 2. Once you've got those down, add the words for verse one and then two. REMEMBER on verse 2, you may have different breathing depending on w...

Music Theory for Singers Lesson 3: Intro To Intervals

INTRO: I am SO excited to share this video series because as a singer who has worked in multiple industries, I have learned that every singer, no matter how naturally talented, benefits from a basic understanding of music theory. That said, there's a lot of overwhelming and potentially confusing stuff out there that, unless you went to college and got a degree in music (which I did and loved it...

In honor of my upcoming trip to Italy (lifelong dream, I'm so excited I could burst!) I have been learning more Italian music than typical. That way I'll have some songs in my brain to sing while we galivant through Tuscany! This is probably the most popular Italian art song (at least in my limited experience) and there's a good reason why! So romantic...such a stunning melody...perfetto! Engli...

L'Heure Exquise By Reynaldo Hahn

Full disclosure I had to do this in 4 takes because I kept crying at my favorite part! This is a very famous poem by Paul Verlaine that has been set many many times by every classical song composer. I've sung a lot of them but this one of my favorite by far. The Exquisite Hour L'heure Exquise The white moon shines in the woods La lune blanche luit dans les bois From each branch De chaque branch...

Thank-you
My goosebumps favourite hymn,, thank you beautiful,it is well 😂
Do a demonstration of you singing your lowest note
Your comment about bringing the head voice to the chest voice going up and down watching and hearing you place it was eye opening for me. I have a very heavy chest voice but I have always had a very weak chest voice going down and could never figure out how to go up or down from chest to head voice because I could not figure out how loud or soft it should be. I have begun to understand I need to keep the voice in the middle of my mouth/head and leave the heavy chest part behind. So I hope with your demo I will get it some day soon! Thank you!
This is great progress! Awareness is the first step. Continue working on noticing when you're feeling that "heaviness" or "ceiling" and working toward more of a lift and you'll gradually be able to regulate it well without having to think about it as much.
I have been puzzled figuring out how to feel when my breathing position was correct for making connection with the breath and this demonstration made me feel it where it is and how to keep it there. Thank you!
Glad it helped! It can take some time to feel that connection with your breath. Keep working on building awareness and soon it will come naturally!
Wow this makes sense. I sing better with my guitar when leaning back slightly. I love your videos.
Awesome! Just remember the lean is only to feel the connection in the belly. If you use it while singing regularly it'll put strain on your neck. Once you get the lower belly connection sensation, be sure to get a nice natural alignment. Your spine will thank you!
@@careyellenlewis oh OK 👍
I don't know why struggle with learning. I've recently got back to singing so I try remind myself I can only get better. But we don't see it so its more of feeling it and I get lost. Slow learner I guess 😢. I'm from Australia 🇦🇺
Don't be too hard on yourself! Remember, if you're not having fun, you're not doing it right :) We are taught that singing is a natural skill, you're either good at it or bad at it. But the reality is, we are all born with some amount of natural ability and then it's all about practice! Don't compare yourself to others, compare yourself to your past self to see how far you've come!
Beautiful raw voice
Thank you! Haha this is definitely about as raw as it gets lol.
Keep doing what you like sooner your channel will grow.
Thank you, I will!
thanks
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
excellent work.
Thank you so much 😀 and thanks for watching!
Je suis tombé sur cette vidéo par hasard, très belle voix ! I ended up on this video throught pure luck, very beautiful voice ! Bravo from France 👍
Merci beaucoup!
Well done! It's was beautiful!
Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
Awesome, you did great!
Thanks! And thanks for watching!
Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Love this song! That was beautiful! ❤
Thanks so much for watching!
9:23 God! dear Carey, if i lean as you do my teacher will " stop" playing the piano and give a " fear" look😅at me, telling me about " posture" and .... in some ways you are " pressing" the abdomen and the voice is " compressed", am i clear... so what is wright or wrong ...😅😢❤❤thanks
Great questions Laura - This is an exercise to help you feel the sensation of support in the lower abdomen that is needed for proper breath support. You don't want to sing in the leaned back position, it is simply a trick to teach your body how to access those muscles. Singers all fall in different places on the spectrum of breath support - if you are a singer who struggles to support your sound, then this exercise will help you feel where that should come from. If you tend to press on the voice, then this exercise is not for you. Hope this helps!
I Love you so much ❤️
"promosm"
Really fun and awesome in the same time!!! 😊❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Keep singing!
The hello is hurting, so I dropped it. Great video though. Subbed 😊
Thanks for the sub!
No. Not alone. All the neighbours can hear me
Haha you're a singer now so they better get used to it!
@@careyellenlewis they’d better. Some of them *do not* like but have had no luck stopping me. I do the right thing - following the rules for noise.
Hello my friend Carey!!!...No one better than you, to make a reaction video and analyze this incredible singer, with an stunning range voice, who is leaving all the experts, literally with their jaws on the floor...In 2017, a 22-year-old singer from Kazakhstan, named Dimash Kudaibergen, was invited to participate in the famous Chinese program for professional singers called "The Singer"!!... In his first appearance, Dimash covered one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse"...Since then all this madness began on the internet, RUclips and social networks worldwide and he is already considered the best singer on the entire planet!!... It is almost impossible to see a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges of 8 octaves, that is, the 88 keys of a digital piano, which allows him to reach all registers, both masculine and feminine, that is, he can sing as Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Contratenor, Contralto, Mezzosoprano and Soprano!!...You can see in RUclips to all kinds of experts (Vocal coaches, analysts, singing teachers, singers, youtubers, reactors, etc.), who have dedicated themselves to watching his videos and verifying for themselves that what is said about him is completely true...In addition to all this, Dimash is capable of singing in more than 12 languages...In all his concerts worldwide, tickets are sold in just seconds, via the internet, due to the immense popularity he has worldwide...Anyway, I think you haven't met this impressive singer yet, so here is the link to his LIVE PERFORMANCE of the song "Sinful Passion" at Sochi in 2018, and if it doesn't bother you, I would like you to mention me as the person who recommended it to you...Warning: You have to be prepared for thousands of views, comments and new subscribers...Link of the song:...ruclips.net/video/W9FlDMCo8LU/видео.htmlsi=FeChki639aJASx0b
je ne sais pas si l'hiver a vraiment cessé , mais il me semble que la pluie s'est remise à tomber . . .
Je habite a Las Vegas - a vraiment cesse ici 😂😂😂
Really appreciated this video! I was wondering if you could demonstrate another singing exercise known as the “Pufferfish” please.
Lol every singer has their own exercises and their own names so idk what that is! But it sounds great haha
@@careyellenlewis It’s an exercise where you puff your cheeks full of air hold it in for a little then blow it out softly. I’ve heard it’s a good one, though i’ve been struggling to find a decent portion of people who can demonstrate it relatively well. I thought it was a common exercise among singers hence why I asked. However, it’s perfectly fine if you cannot or won’t demonstrate it.
I don't know why I got recommended this after a video about art but I started watching them all. I've never realised how tense my tongue is. Nice video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for tuning in! I am just about to share a video specifically on the tongue - keep an eye out!
Very sweet and expressive.
