peugeot 208 is it mandatory to replace the gearbox filter box, or is it just new oil, inside the gearbox has a dirty filter core I think it will be good for the engine to change.

Hi, maybe you can help me to know if it's possible to replace a 5 speed manual gearbox by a 6 speed manual gearbox on a Peugeot 208 (1.0l puretech 68hp) ? the idea would be to lower the rpm and the gazoline consumption when driving on the highway thanks to the 6th speed.

Peugeot says that this oil does not need to be changed, but we both know that like everything, nothing lasts forever, filings from scratch, micro filings that prematurely wear out the gears. They prefer when it is a problem to replace the box. .I change every 100,000km at most or 5 years.
