Coast Gravity Park 2021 | Another EIGHT T2B's!!!

Coast Gravity Park on the Sunshine Coast - I never thought I'd get to ride there but we made the effort and it was well worth it! The park has less elevation and fewer trails than Whistler but it is unique and really fun to ride. I don't think I would recommend it for beginners unless you're going to be in the area anyways but for advanced riders there are some very cool lines. However, this vi...

    Awesome video!!! From north bay, Just got into mountain biking after 18 years being away from the sport. Picked up a giant trance x 2, been up to the trails a couple times but get somewhat lost every time haha lots of breaks loading up trail forks… when u ride down the whole escarpment, do you generally ride all the way back up? If so what route do you take back up

    • @flyindutchman2022
      @flyindutchman2022 Год назад

      Hey there - welcome back to mountain biking! Yeah, there's been a whole lot of new trails cut in the past few years making it pretty busy with intersections and turn offs - too much IMO but people got excited during the pandemic so what can you do. When we ride down the whole escarpment down to Ski Club Rd, we most often ride all the way back up because most of the more engaging trails are up top. There are basically only 2 routes back up that I use - 1) start from the power station on Ski Club Rd and grind straight up 'Doubletrack' (on trail forks) to the very top or 2) start up double track but take a left on the pipeline and go over to 'Ladder' trail. I like option 1 most because it's not that big of a climb compared to anything out west and then it's done with but many opt for option 2 because it breaks it up a little and ladder has better uphill flow. There is third option going up 'Tongues Out' but that just isn't one I ever use - it doesn't spit you out where the rest of the trails are unless you're finished for the day and live in the nearby subdivision. Hope that helps a little - enjoy the trails!

      Yes, they added a jump park dedicated to the young man that died at Blue Mountain a few years back. Downside is the dirt is seriously eroded from heavy rain. Still rideable, but should have been built with better dirt. So.e of the features could use some tweaking as well. Hydrocut continues to be a prime location in Southern Ontario.

It is a little bit XC oriented for my liking but it is well maintained, has plenty of engaging trail features, and makes good use of the terrain available. Just a couple questions, where is the parking at to find the jumps at the end of bain, also id like to know how popular they are. I'd like to go at a time when some others are there, just in case I decide to hit a jump and things go wrong lol. Id also to like to find people that are interested in that kind of biking since that what i'd like to get into. Hi @@glennh8185and thanks for watching! I've been slow to get new content this season but it should happen soon. So parking for the Wolfpack jumps at the end of Bain is literally just parking on the side of Golf Course Rd right off of Bain - at least that is what we have always done. As for timing it is pretty hit or miss. The riders I know that like that jumpline are usually Saturday or Sunday afternoons/evenings. You can also take advantage of regular weekly group rides now being hosted by Cycleworks Bike Shop every Thursday evening around 6pm (they rotate locations so call the shop 472-KONA) and the North Bay Mountain Bike Association on Tuesdays I believe. Check both on instagram for updates. As for bikes that will let you progress, I can recommend Cycleworks as they have supported me for years and carry the brands I like most.

    Great review! I was looking to upgrade my bike and these are 2/3 bike I’m looking to upgrade. The third is the Transition Spire. If you can do a comparison with the Spire that would be awesome! Keep up the good work

      Love this trail...but it's only one of so many amazing trails in the same area. Make sure to put this destination on your riding bucket list Tim. Whistler Bike Park is only an hour away also which is equally fun - just very different experiences.

    this is so cool, we have so few jumps around here to progress on, but I hate driving too far out to find jumps, for the safety factor. NB is a stretch from Ottawa/Gatineau :( very tempting tho!

    • @flyindutchman2022
      @flyindutchman2022 3 года назад

      Just a heads up that there is a more serious set of jumps here also if these are too small. I plan to do a video at this other location soon but headed to Whistler and that is highest priority atm. Let me know if/when you plan to visit and I'd be happy to show you around!

      @@flyindutchman2022 Yeah I really appreciate that, I'd be really nice to have someone to go guide me around if I took a trip out there. NB has a seriously cool little scene, you should be proud! we're just getting stuff on-line here in the Outaouais, some decent DH and enduro trails but man, we need some REAL jump lines bad...

    • @flyindutchman2022
      @flyindutchman2022 3 года назад

      Yes, Horseshoe is a great 'little' spot for lots and lots of laps. The chairlift lines seem to always be short letting you gets many many runs in. Basically it is all that is left in Ontario for chairlift access that I know of...

      @bikeninja956 3 года назад

      @@flyindutchman2022 Yeah I know, I heard about blue :( major bummer. I'm on the Quebec side in the Outaouais obviously but there's still not that much choice for DH, fortune is closest and MSS and MontCalm are ~2hr drive away. There used to be an amazing DH venue at Calabogie peaks just over on the Ontario side ~ 1.5 hrs from here but that got shut down also. It was never busy and had such nice long and loamy DH runs...
