How I setup my MP-1 for best performance. Part 1
Hey Randy. Welcome back...
Greetings Randy, I'm very happy that you're back on the radio. I hope to hear from you soon. A big hug, friend 73's José KP4PR
Thanks for listening
N2ZXX here. Ty for the excellent qso. I appreciate the video so i can hear my audio. I have a video on my personal tx audio settings for the 710, except today was the 1st time i used 50-3050 bandwidth. 73 Randy !
Hello Randy. K7KJN here... Haven't been on the air in about 2 years... Long story. Good to hear you on the air again brother!
@@fntsmk yea, time can get away from you in a hurry. Hope to get to the mic again soon.

One thing at a time. I'll get there. Thanks for the comment tho.
Get Mp 1
Such a loss to the ham community. So many learned and experienced such a meek and intelligent man who brought smiles to so many.
For what ever reason, I cannot get my contacts to show on the main map, any thoughts. Also thanks the info on cluster, is there a way to slow it down so the table of contacts is not jumping around so quickly? Thanks for the video, it helped a lot.
Thanks for the video. I have a Xiegu G90 and set it up with my Super Antennae the other day with no radials at all (in SW Ohio). I picked up a HAM in southern New Mexico and he was a s strong and clear as if he were in front of my house. I could not transmit to his location. So far, I seem to have an issue transmitting. Any thoughts on that?? My friend says the radials would help with reception but not really for transmission. I do want to make a set for 10 meters just to have on hand. How many and suggested length? Just clip then to the two terminals on the mount! I'm working on getting this setup working well soon. Thanks again
Thanks for sharing
wow, it’s Randy
Good to see you back Randy. Hope you and family are well
thanks for the comment, Coming back slowly. LOL

Thanks Randy! I enjoyed our conversation this evening. Bill. WB0RJO
I did too. Come back anytime.
LOG4OM2 is a great program. Been using it for digital contacts for awhile. I am using it to talk to my Icom 7300 and other programs. GridTracker, JTDX and other apps. The Key thing here is that you MUST RUN ALL PROGRAMS AS ADMINISTRATOR. If you don’t, then Omni-Rig WILL NOT share data with other programs. You know as hams we NEVER read the manual ? You need to read the manual with this !! (Right click on each program, then properties. Set to “Run as Administrator “ every program you run.
These are LONG key downs.. isn't there a key-down time limit? You forgot this isn't broadcast. LOL but you come dam close
♥️🇺🇸♥️ This is such a beautiful video that you put together for all to see. Both of my kids are Marines. Very proud to be their mother, very appreciative of all that have served our country. It is a debt that we will never be able to pay. Thank you ♥️🇺🇸♥️
Thank for the kind words. Those that served before me and after me are always in my thoughts. This video Is just a small tribute to them.
Honestly, I don't know what to think. Like the preceding comment, it's a "show". I'm no great Amateur Radio ("AR") operator. I've been in & around the hobby since the 1970's after my Dad (SK) introduced me. I've been licensed since '83. Sometimes I don't touch it for years at time. I also recognize some are offended when I refer to AR as a hobby. For me, this vid is too close to Broadcast Radio. Maybe it's the visual set, IDK. I also recognize that as technology advances, the world (me included) must change- it's inevitable. How long before competing Amateur Radio YT stations begin staging QSO's and a Howard Stern format evolves? Monetization makes YT vids commercial or even Entertainment instead of Demonstration/Instructional. I'm not a hard-ass looking for FCC violations nor am I trying to impose my views from yesteryear on today, but the spirit of AR seems somewhat diluted. I'm certain the dying economics of AR will eventually prioritize profit over custom. I must be wrong, too old or otherwise mistaken. Look what happened to CW yet, I applaud the elimination of the code test. I fear that soon there will be many Ham Radio shows that broadcast on YT with all the bells and whistles, literally.
Good show Randy, k8DBD Dave
How are they for qrp ( 5 w) ?
My color codes don’t show up in my QSO log like yours and don’t appear correct. I type in a call sign that I know I’ve never worked and the colors show up as if it has been worked. Thoughts?
sory . why not download this brogram from my google web ?
great amp i have the same
Thanks for sharing! Old antenna, but still good results 👌🏽 Wish you lot's of good contacts, especially now in summer outside. Many greetings, Matthias 👋 DL1NDG
Thanks for the kind words.
@@rwb2231 Thank YOU! Have a fabulous weekend 👌🏽
It was great to hear what was coming out of your radio when I made the contact. Nice work. 73, KD2LOS.
Good video. I have one and I'll be setting it up shortly, picked up some nice tips from you! Thanks again.
Love my new 811H bought six months ago. First amp. been on since 65. Now have 80 meter horizontal loop for all bands now. Love the band conditions nowdays reminds me of what it was like in the 60s.
Great video on your part, but far too complex for simple logging. My old radio can't talk to a computer.
Upgrade.
Isn't it omni rig?
Omni-rig controls it.
"On purpose". Yeah, man! 🤣🤣🤣
Hey Randy When Will you be back online on 40 and 20?
Hey Randy, hope you are doing well my friend. My upgrade, went up yesterday was a home brew 9:1 unun with into a 70 ft random wire with a 31 ft counterpoise. I am tuning 10 - 80 and getting some good reports and able to hear and operate on 80 for the first time from my QTH.
This is why I don't get on during a contest

Great work Randy! 73, WD3D
Randy: I stumbled onto your 40M livestream yesterday evening. This is what you sounded like in the central Piedmont of North Carolina: *20220228_2_DR_EVENING-RAGCHEW-40M* ruclips.net/video/I1F0wCC2z18/видео.html I think your channel is a great concept! BTW attended grad school at MIZZOU (go Tigers).
The way cycle 25 is doing reminds me how it was when I was new to Ham radio in 1965 having a great time.
Congrats on 600…! Knew you would get it by tonight. KM4RGY
Thanks, you never know.
Hey Randy, we spoke on the radio yesterday. . . Nice to make your acquaintance!
Thanks for the contact Randy. It was nice to see my signal and hear my audio. 73 from Colorado Springs.
Glad you enjoyed it. Come back anytime
Had to work! Wish I could have caught you live!
