Kris Dunn has that dawg in him | Post Game Recap
Heard the Jazz just potentially signed Kris Dunn 2.0 in Elijah Harkless from the LA Clippers G League affiliate on a 2-way contract 🔥 Buddy is 🥶
Did you know that Finland international olivier nkamhoua will be training with Utah this July summerleague
Pelicans have overlap. BI and Herb Jones could be available...
Another team with too many pieces is ATl. Just drafted a wing in Risacher. Also has Hunter, Johnson, and Bey. I’d take a flier on Bey. Came off injury and so might be a buy low sell high opportunity.
I bet first part of the season will be used to showcase players for the trade deadline. Second part will be when we see our new rookies playing. And so the cycle begins...
Even though Danny Ainge doesn't want to let Kris Dunn go similar to when he had Tony Allen on the Celtics the organization is hell bent on developing their draft picks so Even if they paid Dunn his career winning wise would be going nowhere and he would be regulated to the bench how they did THT with all the guards they want to play for developmental purposes. I truly believe Kris Dunn takes the Malik Beasley route and bets on himself to garner and even bigger bag after a strong playoff showing and TBH the fans deserve to see Kris Dunn in the playoffs he's that dynamic, a pure Alpha Dawg on perimeter defense 🤞🏾🦍
The Jazz seem focused on paying Lauri and fully developing their young players their gonna Tank this season in hopes of Drafting Cooper Flagg. Kris Dunn is going to Phoenix on a vet minimum deal to play for a winner and Clarkson will be traded while Sexton is allowed to continue jacking up shots and playing out of control that's the season.......
I'm hoping both Sexton and Clarkson get traded haha. I will hate to see Dunn go if we don't resign him.
@BeyondtheStatsPodcast 😆 I hear you bro Sexton & JC can be a trip at times. With Sexton Keyonte and the rookie PG and possibly JC on the team until the trade deadline there's just a log jam at guard and the way Utah was playing Dunn last season there's not going to be much change in his minutes at 15 to 17min a game on a losing team he's better off competing for a real rotation spot on a contender were his raw effort and hustle and unselfish playing style will be appreciated and utilized properly and that's gonna be the Phoenix Suns mark my words.......
@@melvinpowelljr.3368 I completely agree. If we are going to screw around with this roster at least let Dunn go to a team that will give him a real chance to compete.
Salaun, Topic, or Holland. Yes, yes yes.
If Lauri stays in Jazz, and they keep tanking next 2-4 years, that would be a career suicide for him. Even that Lauri is team first guy, I hope he has some personal ambitions in him. I would hate to see him waste his chances to see how far his talents can take him. Lauri in Lakers has some nice echo in it, doesn't it... I would love to see a FIN with NBA ring still in my lifetime...
Whats happening ? No videos.....3weeks
I know it's been a while. There hasn't been really any new information coming out. Don't worry we will be revamping soon with the draft, free agency, and summer league all coming in the next few weeks.
Ainge said "it's not ideal" to go to the next season with so many young guys. He didn't say they won't do that 😂 I guess they will try to do something else but if nothing good is appearing then I'm not surprised if they go to the season with all the young guys. But I don't know if they will have Lauri then... Since Danny said big game hunting but if they cannot make anything happen they need to pivot. I believe they want to make roster better but if not, then they make it worse. Also 1. pick has been traded four times in the existence off the NBA draft. So I wouldn't put too much hope of Jazz being able to buy it next year 😃
I think keeping Markenin makes a lot of sense. If we tank next year the rebuild will be a lot slower. We will be a 500 team next year with our current roster but free agency could get us Patrick Williams or Miles Bridges, PJ Washington type player.
We should consider trading down to 12 with the Thunder and getting our 1st round pick back next year. It depends on who is available at 10.
omg OKC fan here and I think Lauri would fit perfect with this young teams style of play!
Jazz pick in 2025 is top 10 protected still....so they dont have to trade this years pick in order to keep next years if they do decide to tank.
Isaiah Collier is similar to Collin Sexton only bigger. He’s athletic enough to learn defense.
4-7 playoff seed next year? Who they gonna knock out? Did you watch the team after the trade deadline? Love watching the young guys struggle and learn. Stop skipping steps and settling for mediocrity.
15:40 Castle building! #GoJazz
Hey! Thanks for the show! I’m disagree with youre perception of Kyonte amd Hendricks. Kyonte play maybe in 75 games and he shows consistently that he cant shot the ball, he Make to many turn overs amd its a really bad defender, that’s why he was a low pick I hope that he Can develope in a more consistent player but He’s not showing elementos to say that He’s gonna be an all-star! And Hendricks it’s great, amazing shot, amazing defender and consistent stats, maybe he could be an all star. Lofton its so skill player with hi iq, great shot, great defender, he always take the correct decition, same age than Keynote. I really hope that Keyonte get better on his shot and his defence, but that looks complicated to me.
Welcome back guys
🤤 *PromoSM*
It was interesting to first listen to Hardys postgame interview (it's uncut/un"cleaned" version is in youtube, I recommend to give it a watch if you haven't yet seen it) where he was cussing his team and then come here and you guys practically started with "Another kinda fun game" and continued later with "all the signs (in the game) were positive" 😂😂
George is devoloping great. Do you think he's more a SG than PG?
I think he has shown a great ability to be a facilitator and run the offense on top of his scoring. In todays NBA I think he is a PG
Luka samanic JC THT are gone Johnny and Potter are retained along with Kris Dunn in free agency
The writing ✍️ is on the wall Coach Hardy is feed up with the Rouge Basketball and stat padding /chasing of Sexton JC and THT they literally hate to pass the damn ball and are literally forced to assist do to the sheer amount of minutes there being played most of there assist are always bail out situation assist SMDH
Sexton JC & THT are starting to rub off on Keyonte George that's why Will Hardy pulled him last night, not passing and sloppy offensive play seriously, they need to get JC & THT out of town ASAP and and place Sexton in the 6th man role next season and start Kris Dunn alongside Keyonte next season so Lauri & Keyonte can get the damn ball unlike playing with Sexton all night
I think you are right about what level the team needs to be next year to compete with Markkanens timeline and I hope that happens. Unfortunately I think it's more likely that Markkanen is getting traded in the summer, or more likely at the next deadline and there is two more tanking seasons to come.
@Zaakzz Nobody is giving this summer the haul from Markkanen Ainge wants since he only has one (at the moment partially guaranteed) season under contract anymore. After that he will be unrestricted free agent and the team need to have cap space and willingness to pay him good if they want to try to keep him.
Sooo, should I be the one telling you guys about Kessler being chosen to the team USA pool for the next summer or just leave it for somebody else? 🤔 Whoops, I just did 😅😂 Yes, I know nobody believes that he will be chosen to the Olympic roster but he will still most likely to go play for that ..what ever it is called there 😅 .. extended roster maybe? The group that practices with team USA roster at first and is like practise sparring group for them.
Great😭😭
I wouldn't completely rule out Collins as starting center moving forward. If he can get back to being 37%+ 3pt shooter and if he can make some defensive improvements (which he has already been doing in my opinion). I think it might be enough defensively if we assume Hendricks becomes as good a defender as we are hoping and Jazz find more defensive oriented, wing type second guard to play next to Keyonte. So line up of Keyonte, good defender guard/wing, Markkanen, Hendricks and Collins. Offensive potential with a line up like that could big enough to be worth to sacrifice some defence.
I think a modern center needs to be able to shoot and switch, so as much as I like Walker, I don’t think he’s our championship starting center. But what a great backup he could be.
I would like yget Lauri back to the floor to practise selfcreating and build chemistry with young guys. And the reason is not at all because he is the original reason I bought league pass 😇😇😁😂😂 Though to be honest, I have watched every Jazz game this season, non-regardless if he has played or not 😃
Haha it does make it a little harder to watch games without Lauri! I do agree with the fact that him getting more chemistry with our young guys is important
I would like to see also Isaiah Thomas in action during the end of the season though he is a Veteran. He could support George more than JC or Sexton does.
Keyonte has been averaging 19 points and almost 6 assists on 45/45/80 splits with 2.0 assist/TO ratio in his 10 starts since the trade deadline. Incredible we got this guy at pick 16! (thank you Timberwolves) He's projecting to be the 2nd or 3rd best player from an insanely stacked draft class. Only guys I would even consider to be better than Key long term would be Wemby & Miller.
John Collins is a super negative contract, who has been holding back both Walker and Taylor all season. What team are you trading him to? For what? Even worse salary? Why oh why ever would you “do that trade every single time”. If the Jazz FO could make that decision again, I assure you they’d choose differently. I want to see Walker and Hendricks start together as well, but that means putting your highest paid player and a proud vet to the bench (not easy).
Yeah,Collins is sort of misplaced at jazz. Hes a 4 whos not a reliable 3pt shooter, not a creator for others or to himself and hes a bad defender. Collins is a solid rebounder and very athletic, but he lacks that one offensive skill which woud be his superpower. Col-mar-fon worked fine cos fon was versatile, good defender and unselfish. Col-hen-mar and Col-kes-mar are not going to work either. Collins would be ok from bench, but very overpaid for a bench player.
I have been more sceptical than most on George and his a potential but I'm fully on board the hype train now. He is going to be multi year all star! That late shot clock, deep three in early second half was what finally did it for me. Some questions still on his defensive potential but what insane confidence, shooting and overall offensive ability!
It doesn't matter if you play second year players and rookies in that order for the next 3 years the Jazz ain't winning anything with that method because by that time all they know is losing and how to do it well there just handing Will Hardy a bunch of young pup's to coach as they just stat stuff for numbers and lucrative contracts in the future and no winning
And here's my thing. Clarkson, as of now, always plays the fourth quarter, and Taylor Hendricks comes out right, but since Taylor had a NBA homecoming game in his state he got to play major minutes in the fourth but if Clarkson was available he takes those minutes but Kris Dunn isn't trusted to do the same 🤔 so is Will Hardy a leader or a sentimental sports geek with a head Coaching job seriously
The jazz are playing clarkson a lot so they can trade him
You wanted to hear if there are any F1 fans. I've been a fan since Häkkinen started with Lotus in -91. 95 Adelaide was heart breaking, but he pulled it through like a man. 97 was full of disappointments, but also hope. Oh that era -98 -00, I watched everything that was available. -99 & -00 Suzuka Qualies, damn that was exiting, more than many of the races. Woke up 3AM to watch live qualification, and couldn't even blink, so that I wouldn't miss any of those dust kicking quali laps. -00 Spa, oh my. Mika got passed even when Schumi tried to push him off road at +300kmh, that narsistic idiot. (Some might say that what happened to Michael later was just a payback for all his actions he did in his career. Who knows...) Räikkönen was not too bad either, Fast as hell, man who let the driving do the talking. Now I have stopped watching F1 since Verstappen started to be successful. I see him as one of the biggest bastards in the sport. Just a spoiled rich kid who rather runs others off the course than accepts them being faster. Such a bad loser. I would hate to be working in the same company, he is as big poison as Alonso, if not bigger. Sure, he can drive. So what. He is such arrogant asshole that I can't watch that sport at all anymore. If he has massive accident because of his stupidity, I hope he's the only one who gets hurt.
Without JC playing the Jazz didn't have a single turnover until 7min into the second quarter. That shows a lot about how goofy & sloppy they play when JC enters the game for Sexton
JC was out, so what does Will Hardy do? He plays THT 20min plays Kris Dunn 10min and the last 23sec of the forth quarter. That isn't a sign that Will Hardy wants to win anything and doesn't want to really play Dunn that much anymore at all all of a sudden THT just can't come out the game after not playing him at all even over Brice 🤔 but now he gets Kris Dunn's minutes out of nowhere SMDH
Yeah the second Dunn gets in foul trouble he sits him and never brings him back in. Very frustrating to see that this game
@BeyondtheStatsPodcast Exactly! Ok I get the foul situation that's understandable but why match up Dunn with Jimmy in the first place Hardy should have had THT on him from the jump just size and length wise defensively, Hardy is an emotional and sentimental decision maker when it comes to certain players and Dunn is his perfect toy to play with. He starts him for 25 games straight then just pulls him from the position to play him off the bench out of position as their back up SF and plays JC at SF all fourth quarter but Dunn isn't giving the opportunity to do it when he's out 🤔 if im Kris Dunn I would leave especially if the offer is super low for his new found standards and value in the League
Anybody missing JC ? Not me,there`s more hard work and team-play when he`s nt the floor. I cant get why the front office cant see this ? Why didnt you trade him for no picks just to get rid off his salary and presence.
It's simple since they couldn't get a trade in place for JC at the deadline there contractually obligated to play JC It's also damn near like the front office and staff emotionally don't have the balls to sit him because of his tenure with the team regardless of his play seriously
I agree with a lot of other stuff you said however…
“That’s what happens when Keyonte George is your #1 option/ballhandler - lots of points AND assists… that’s why we don’t like him playing with JC and Collin, with Key sitting in the corner… “… which is exactly why we wanted Ainge to trade for Dejounte Murray so badly - so we could stunt Keyonte’s growth as something other than the #1 option or so PG Dejounte could play offball SG like he’s so excelled at in Atlanta…” Oh yeah totally makes sense guys… let’s go for another undersized backcourt with overlapping skill sets 👍🤣
Lauri is not Durant,Lauri is not and wont be a top 10 player. If you use him right ,he`s a heck of a top 30 player,if you use him wrong, hes only 15ppg player... He needs a pg who creates for him, thats the case,if you know it ,use him right. He wont develope into Durant, These skills he showed last season werent new skills,he was used wrongly at bulls and cavs, thats why averaged only 14ppg... Last summer at WC,Finalnd had a bad pg,Lauri didnt shine...
When you had team-oriented KO,Agbaji and Sim Fontech, you won some games cos you had the energy and team-effort,thats now long gone... Couldnt you trade tht and JC for free and kept agbaji and sim ? Ainge has lost the touch...
Taylor is going to be special if he stays in the weight room seriously 💪🏾
Kris Dunn & Keyonte George should be starting Sexton should be there 6th man & JC is literally a ball stopping shot hawk should be playing 22 to 25min off the bench for situational purposes, this is going to be a long and ugly final stretch SHEESH!
Look at the Jazz, starting frontcourt: Collins,Lauri and Hendricks, none of them can create their own shot, none of them is a creator. Backcort: Sexton, welll,he`s his own (bad) himself again and we have the rrookie Keyonte. The bench: Dunn,a hustler and creator,, but sort of limited at skills,Kessler a pure role player, cant shoot, brice ,JC and THT
At this point why wouldn't the Jazz let Kris Dunn play more offensive minded basketball 🙄 i mean there literally allowing Sexton Keyonte & JC to just jack up practice shots in game and turn the ball over all night while Dunn is held to an expectation to just "play hard and pass the ball". Regardless of age all players on teams like this should be given the opportunity to shot more and play their actual games, Sexton & Clarkson won't even pass him the damn ball when he's wide open, only on bail out situation after a stalled drive attempt. It's time for everyone to shot the damn ball more not just Sexton & JC seriously cause it's not working SMDH
Would love to see a guard lineup of George and Dunn to finish this season. Helps our defense and helps Lauri as well with the way Dunn sets him up.
@BeyondtheStatsPodcast Exactly! I believe Will Hardy is not making the rotational decisions at all its Justin & Danny doing that all the way for draft positioning and JC's far well chuck show off the bench playing 36min a night, there just gonna let him run it up seriously. Kris Dunn gets those minutes next season if he stays
You tell me why JC is getting +30mpg night after night ? Hes playing like shit,no defense, bad shooting, selfish and taking too much ballhandling... Whats the point ? What am I missing ? Summer trade boost for points average or what ?
Yeah the Clarkson and Sexton experiment is getting to be beyond frustrating
I was looking forward to hear your comments and vent in the comments here after Hawks game, but hey, life happens 😂😂
Haha I’m sorry! It was a rough day for both of us. You can vent now😂😂
@BeyondtheStatsPodcast Well the Magic game happened already and calmed me a bit 😃 Luckily I'm always a bit sceptical and scared Jazz will lose a game even when they are doing well in game, so that lost game didn't sting as much 😂 So no need for venting right now 😉
I don't know what has happened to Markkanen after trade deadline. He has been strugling after that. Especially 2pt shooting and driving to the basket. Has the the change from PF to SF affected his game this much?
Wouldn't be surprised if the reason is lowered motivation caused by friends (and shooting training mate) got traded. And thus the odds to get to playoffs vanishing. 2nd time in a row. Also I would be worried to be traded to a worse situation and move. Might be physical but guess it's mental. And if your focus is on 90% you will not thrive. It shows more than that 10% in results.
Ah they even talked about that in the latter part of the video
@Rivimies I would think that it's demoralising for him when the guys that pass to him and look for him keep getting traded (first Mike and now Kelly and Simone was sneaky good playing with Lauri too and Ochai was often at least moving the ball also). He knows that his game is dependant of guys finding him at least at the moment and he knows guards he is playing with don't look for him often. Dunn looks for him but they don't play together much and Keyonte I guess tries to look for him but I don't think they have good chemistry yet, since he pretty much every game throws passes Lauri cannot physically get to. So Lauri ends up often just standing in the corner play after play. I agree with the guys that he doesn't seem to be having fun and Lauri has said that he plays best when he is having fun. If the front office really are looking to build around Lauri, like they said after the trade deadline, I think they need to get there more guys that are ready to pass and move the ball during the summer.
