Great video Iconic Brands once again! Love the jag. But i was wondering something, as i am going to drive in a years time and i was thinking of getting a jaguar x type or s type as my first car. I know its a bit bold and far reacting but its a car that i love and my dad had a jag for a while and i loved it! but is it good as my first car? Or should i go for something else because i am a big jag fan and classic car fan too! thank you. and great video!👍

I love all Jags and Landrovers, had plenty of the latter and just purchased a Jag XF sportbrake, simply amazing car. Prefer it to all the German stuff.

I remember back in the day, I thought my Orange Mk1 Chopper was the dogs. ....until I was given my brother's 5 speed Puch Alpine racer, wow, what a revelation... then spent most of my time waiting around for mates still on their boat anchor Choppers and TM Trackers.😊 I always thought the TM Tracker was a better overall bike...lighter (relatively!) better brakes until it rained on steel rims, and a seat suspension that actually worked to a point, but the Chopper won on looks. We all know they were both poor bikes dynamically, but the romance factor can't be argued. Great video, thanks for the upload. 😎

You have a lovely mk. 1. Mine got binned in a clear out after I left home ,but it was a bit rusty so fair enough but still rankles a bit. Thanks for the info.

I believe Derek is incorrect in his statement saying “British workers are lazy”. Toyota, Honda & Nissan all have or had assembly plants here in the UK and the quality leaving those factories is comparable with any plant in the world. If you take the workers out of the equation that leaves two things: 1 Lack of investment 2 Poor management The German automotive manufactures work closely with their unions and include them in high level decision making. Not the ‘us and them’ mentality in the UK.

Think Derek is a Joke, he would be skint if he didn't sell British Classic cars ! Where would we be if the British Workers didn't build the Spitfires & Lancasters ? Jaguar use the same Castle Bromwich Factory. I have been a Mechanic for 44 years and British cars are the best bar none ! You can stick your German cars where the monkey sticks its nuts.

A Great Video, I just got the 2024 Chopper Delivered, I thought Fizzy Lemon might be too bright on my eyes, So I went for the Space Blue version. I managed to just get the sale thru before the website crashed out on the 1st release. I did log back in again on the 2nd batch to try for the Fizzy Lemon for a gift, as it said you could have one of each colour per customer, but, I ended up in such a big queue, I fell asleep, then the website refreshed. So I am not sure, if I even made it in the 2nd queue or not & it then timed out. I do wonder how many were produced, but, Raleigh are not saying. My First Queue order was 1760 approx, so is that a random number or part of the volume. I did notice quite a lot have appeared on Ebay for a bit of a profit. It would be interesting to know how many were sold thou, as we may spot a few out and about. It is also profit for Raleigh, so what do we think 2,500 of each colour or less were produced for 2024 ?. Anyone with insider knowledge that can share how many were sold for 2024 ?.

Good info but also remember to say "Do not depress the clutch but ensure the the gears are in neutral until the car has started".

I had the pleasure of walking into a breaker's yard when working in the UK in 1984. "I don't suppose you would have an overdrive gearbox for an MGB Mk I ?" I said. "Sure", he replied. "There's two sitting on the floor over there" he said. "Help yourself to one." Things were a little less happy when I drained the oil prior to shipping it home, and a whole lot of metal filings drained out in the oil. But a gearbox and overdrive rebuild prior to fitting it, (and one more since after about another 140,000 miles), and the wrecker's yard gearbox and overdrive is still providing excellent service in my now 250,000 mile MGB.

When I was 18yo (in 2002), the x-type was the very first Jag I drove (it was a 2.5 petrol). I really liked it, it was the very best car I got on at such time... It felt to me like a nice quality thing. Now I have an XKR x150 Convertible and an XJR x356... And I still like the X-types. I wouldn't mind to have one as a daily driver. Sometimes I think to give one to my wife as present, she loves them because she thinks the XKR and the XJR are too big for her.

Exactly the same here. I could have killed for a mark 1 at 11 years old when they came out but my father didn't buy me one. I think that you should start a club for deprived boomer chopper children. I bought my first Raliegh Chopper, a mark 4 in ultra violet at 64 years old last year. Very sad and the neighbours think it is very strange but who cares what anybody else thinks. They just don't understand. Johhny Seven next maybe, rather more expensive than the £4 19s and 6d they used to be in the early 60's 😢.
