HaulMaster Roof Mounted Cargo Rack/Carrier/Basket 6 MTH REVIEW Harbor Freight Gear That Doesn't SUCK
Here is my Harbor Freight Gear That Doesn't SUCK HaulMaster Roof Mounted Cargo Rack/Carrier/Basket 6 MTH REVIEW. This rack has been on my 2008 4Runner for 6 months now and it is time to see what condition it is in. Other than the paint fading and some small rust spots that I can repair, I think it is in relatively good condition. Remember, not everything that you get at Harbor Freight is junk...

Camco UltraShield RV Cover REVIEW!

Today I review my Camco UltraShield RV Cover. You have to be careful with this cover and any sharp edges that you may have on your rig or it will tear. Also some of the strap tabs pulled out the first time that I pulled them tight. On the bright side, the top and side fabric is great at protecting your RV. You make the choice.....
Easy DIY RV Jack Pads

Join me today as I make some Easy DIY RV Jack Pads out of some scrap wood that I had laying around. I made these with 4x4's and 3/4" pressure treated plywood but you could easily make them with 2x4's if you don't need the height or with 6x6's if you want to go BIG. This is a great project and will be very useful if I have to set up on loose or uneven ground. Try it! @FloridaBoyBushcraftSurvival

I wont subscribe to someone who doesn't even name the item they are showing or add the link of where to purchase. "You can find it somewhere on Temu"? VAGUE!
Where did you get yours? I tried to look on Amazon but yours looks more see through
thank you now has anyone HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE SWISHER IN THE BLACK WATER TANK NOT WORKING?
This could be easy but your camera is close, I have no idea how this goes on cross bar.
Link?
Love mine on my Rav Limited.. l didn't use those tiny screws and rubber washers on the rack sides since rack isn't going to come apart after installation ... Wife bought me a small long metal Fender guitar 🎸 show plate that I installed over the HMaster decal ... Had someone asked where I purchased the Fender roof rack , and is there a Gibson rack available ??? Too Funny 😅. Nevertheless, the rack is absolutely fine for it price point 😊 .. Wife and I use it for our camp chairs , hammocks, tool box, etc.. that all lay in the rack nicely.. 😊😊😊 😉
Didn't wanna be harbor freighting it all over the place that was gold hahahhah
Good to know. Thinking of getting one. May spray it with a Rhino lining prior to install. Help prevent rust issues
I installed the rack without using those screws and washers... So much easier in installation with out them .. Besides, The rack isn't going to come apart after installing rack on vehicle mount rails .. l use a couple of nice cable locks in weaving cable through rack and vehicle mount rails ... Oh, wife bought me a long Fender guitar metal sign from Hobby Lobby that l installed over the rack decal... Other guitarists have approached me in asking where l bought the Fender guitar 🎸 rack ... LoL 😅😅😅😅😅
Thank you! This is helpful.
Thanks I will just do that
Has the temu brand held up?
These are awesome! I am definitely going to make these
Hi, this is great thing. Please, can you send me an link to where to buy it online? Thank you, you save my day man.
Awesome idea. Thanks.
..Weight rating???
I believe it is 250lbs. Not a lot but it can work for some things...
Great idea for the refrigerator adding a small pc fan with rechargeable battery. I’ve added one to the back of my refrigerator to get better cooling from the outside air. Also if you mounted that refrigerator fan to the bottom of the shelf vs the top you will have more space in the refrigerator.
Thanks! Yes I experimented with it and moved it lower and it works well. I also put a couple of new computer fans in the rear of mine and hooked it into the 12v so they run all the time and it really helped the cooling
I have a bed cap on my truck but no roof rack on it. Could this bolt directly to the roof without having a rack if you left the bottom of those brackets off and used bolts to secure it? Weird question, but I can't tell too well from the videos if it'd have enough clearance to mount like that lol
Yes you could do it that way and it looks like it would work fairly well. You would still have about an inch of clearance between the bottom of the rack and your topper...
Just picked this up yesterday at my local HF. It AZ, not expectin' that rust but was an informative watch. Thank ya.
Thanks! You should be fine in AZ as you don't have the humidity we have in FL
Where did you find the stove cover?
I got it on Amazon. They are about $50
@@skippy3840 thank you
No backflow preventor = poop water in your fresh water pipes and tank. Forget the campground, protect your own fresh water system folks. Dont do this.
Lol you should learn your RV systems before commenting
Thanks for the video. Do you know if you can transport 4x8 plywood sheet with this one ?
It is a little small for that but you could use straps with it I guess...
Thanks for making this! I was worried about getting this rack cuz my rav4 stock crossbars seemed just SO bowed I wasn’t sure if it would sit nicely but looks like it would.
It should work well...
Great video, I did an 8 month review of ours but we live in the PNW and park in the garage when we are home so no rust or fading for us thankfully! Thanks for uploading.
Thank you for saving me several hundred dollars. Your first video, then this one -- SOLD. I can get a gross of cans of Rustoleum for the price difference, LOL.
Great Video...I'm going to use the Refrig idea.
If you flip the shelf upside down the basket won’t slide…..unless you need it to slide.
TEMU? You didn't even link the exact screen. There are tons on TEMU - people asked you for the link and you just stonewalled them as if they don't even exist. Instead, you beg for subscriptions. Ugh.
You wanna replace the Screws that come with it. They are terrible quality strip easily and are not really that safe. To be honest, just go to your local hardware store in swap out the screws. And let me tell you the difference that will make in the strength and quality and durability.
Nice, link to order please…
Can you say "overkill?" Those things would hold up a house. I guess they're ok if you don't care about cost or weight. To make four of these you would need nearly 20 ft. of 4x4 plus a sheet of treated plywood. You might want to price that out first. 5/4 deck boards over a 2x4 frame would get the job done with less weight and cost.
Wow that is really clever! Thank you for sharing this solution! :D
I went to the sprinkler dept of our local building supply. I bought a 1/2" male to female threaded elbow and a male to male nipple. All threaded right inline with no glue needed.
Have you notice any corrosion? I bought an amazon one for myself and i had to take it off and seal it to rust proof it.
Thanks for the video. Picked on up. Have you found a cargo net to fit it yet? I've had no luck. Painting mine with truck bed liner spray to see if I can ward off some of the light rusting you are seeing. Again, thanks for the video.
i wonder if painting it with truck liner before installation will help protect it? im thinking of picking up one for my rav4
It might...
Just bought it for $96 after taxes. Will install Sunday on the Grand Cherokee and mount some lights to the front. Super helpful video. 👍
Thanks!
@@skippy3840 Got it installed and drilled my mounting brackets in for my pod lights. Looks great!!!
@@DJBumgarner Nice! I am thinking about putting some lights on mine...
Isn’t it too small for Grand Cherokee?
@@HosseinQanbari It’s not terrible. I mainly bought it just for a place for my lights.
could you use dielectric grease?
whole thing is already rusted..... theres something you can buy that you brush on and neutralizes the rust and i believe is a paint in one. i forget what its called but you should be able to get it from home depot.
Yeah that is the only problem with it...
Yeah, Rustoleum has a new spray paint and brush on rubberized paint that converts rust and seals the metal from rusting further. Walmart sells it in the automotive section. People are raving about in reviews I've seen so it might be some good stuff for this application.
do you keep your car in the garage at night and do you live in close to the ocean ? that could accelerate the rusting process
I do live close to the ocean...
Thanks for the video but I'm going to pass on this Harbor Freight item.
Its not bad but thee are definitely better choices...
Just spray it with Rustoleum Rubberized Rust converter and sealant when you get it and reapply every couple of years and it should last a long time.
Please LIKE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE! I try to answer all comments
Thx , you helped me make my mind up
It is still holding up well...
Great idea. I have some scrap wood in the back yard that is about to get put to use.
These things are like tanks
I got this rack and kept the top brackets but then built my own bottom brackets from Home Depot for like 5$. It holds perfectly now
This one is still holding up pretty well...
Did you lose your shoes? I never work in the shop bare footed. Not a good example.
Nope they are safe inside. You do you...
When I put my kayak J cradles on I slip a towel under the brackets to prevent scratching the roof paint. Might be useful with this too.
That would work. However this is a 2008 and it is already scratched lol
You're a life saver man🙏🏻. Had this issue at 8 PM on a thrusday night and had a renter come to my RV the next day. Went to lowes spent like 2 bucks and got this working. You're awesome! For anyone with questions about the backflow, I suggest you purchase a backflow preventer on Lowes for like $6
Did you use the cement seal when installing it under the sink?
Thanks! Now you will no longer have any problems...
Yes, I used cement seal.@@cdickey16
bypassing this cause the freash water tank over flow to siphon all the water out of tank
No it absolutely will not...
Zero Velcro lighting in bathroom - rechargeable LED lights that hang on the outside of your toilet bowl and are motion activated. Mine comes on the moment I swing my legs off the bed. Perfect! Amazon!
Great idea!
