I have been denied for the next 120 days due to them not believing me. I have a major TBI, CRPS, POTS, and PTSD due to my accident. They just went "Sorry, it's for people with autims" the thing is, I have autism as well. I fall under the neurodivergent and am as neurodivergent as you come. I said the third time that I'd give it a go. I'll see how it goes, if I pass out, it'll become a joke. They say you waive your rights to sue, but in my case, it would open up a lot of avenues because I signed the agreement with a gun to the back of my head.

DLC and WDW should make it like DLP where you give proof of disability to give out DAS.

Disney needs to conduct the interview in a more timely manner, like before a trip, tickets and airplane are booked. If you are denied then you have time to plan a vacation elsewhere.

Disney land paris handles this so well. I was there last year and they require proof, you get a card and its simple.

I've been using das for about 10 years and I still try to utilize genie+ as often as possible but I find that very lacking particularly on a busy park day. With the standby queue not being an option for me and I'm semi local (a couple hours away from wdw) so we don't always stay on property. While trying to not abuse the das system what I've run into are park days where we can't start making genie+ selections until 9am there's often very little availability with genie+. I also often travel solo so the accommodations they seem to be offering just aren't realistic accommodations. I went to studios not long ago for the day and with genie+ was able to book 1 ride ...everything else was booked. I don't feel I should be limited to only watching muppets all day because I have a disability that isn't autism.

After you have been denied can you register? Or do I have to wait a certain time. I feel I did not advocate enough for my daughter.

This is why I can’t go to Disneyland anymore. I have a medical condition that causes high anxiety levels if I get too crowded. It’s not pretty if I have one of the attacks. Genie + would only let me ride certain rides and not others and only once per day. I have doctors treating me for this condition so why do I have to explain to a non medical person. Also my family would be 7. Just anther reason we couldn’t enjoy it together

I need DAS and now that I’m not the right kind of disabled for Disney I’m not going back. I’m not going where im not welcome. It’s just a money grab. Disney keeps raising the price but it still isn’t enough so now they’re discriminating. So eff it, I’ll start going other places for vacation. I priced it out and 2 weeks in Europe is cheaper than a week at Disneyworld.

The interviewer would be an ideal job for a cast member who has a knack for being unaccommodating or outright rude to guests.

The majority of lighting lane is made up of DAS, according to Disney. They've allowed the abuse to take place and it did. "Now, it's time to pay the price." TT.

I have a rare bone condition which means I cannot stay in line and with my disability, it means my mobility is shot completely and I have to rely on a electric wheelchair to get me around places (that and I have extreme Edema in my foot due to side effects of my rare bone condition), because of this, I wouldn't get the DAS and it frustrates me to hell and back because rides need an external entrance i.e. the exit like Space Mountain or the exit for Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain when it was there before it became that Tianas Bayou ride or whatever it's called.

this is make me so mad. Why are they cherry picking Disabilies? like this is what I was afraid for. The fact that are said yeah you need it but we are not going give to you just because is ahhhhhh. This make me more want to see how many people were abuse the system. Was the abuse really the problem or the fact that LL could get very long cause people mad because the line is longer. Honestly think this is state a fact that maybe Genie needs to be $40-60 per person. While Uniserval express is different, there is a reason it is almost $100-200 more than the standard because they want more people are more likely to walk on and to limit how many people have it without it hurt the standard line. There is a reason why Hagrid's and Bowser's challenge does not have normal express lines yet because they get crazy waits without and even more waits with it.

I was In the hospitality industry for a very long time, there’s no way the pans were too big to clean that they needed to use a “spray” 🤦‍♂️ these people sound like idiots, if a pan or equipment is too big you very simply get some water, soap, and a sponge to clean bigger items, its not rocket science I’ve cleaned oversized pans and restaurants equipment for years, nobody uses sprays on equipment unless you’re delusional. Anyone can put soap and water on an item, throw around a sponge on it which is far more normal than a spray 😹💀

Genie plus is inexpensive and works better than DAS. yes you have to pay but cmon people im sure you paid a lot just to vacation to Disney. So what’s a little more. I mean we just skipped a lot of gift shops or snacks and realized Genie Plus was worth every penny. Maybe we should all be grateful that DAS was free OR easy to get for so many years. I’m also very grateful I get to go on vacations as many people don’t even get that. Just saying.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Everyone is so nervous and upset about the changes. We have used it three times between both coasts now, and it has for sure saved our trips. I’m nervous about the changes because my daughter doesn’t have the autism diagnosis yet, she has several other neurodivergent diagnoses, but it seems like they’re being more rigid. I feel really bad for all the people with physical medical concerns. The fact that they’re recommending everyone to buy genie+ is concerning, and their suggestions for line waiting are really condescending.

I believe that’s discrimination to all disability and why would you want to pay more money to go on rides? You have a better chance going to Universal Studios and getting a better experience than to dealing with Disney and if you don’t qualify, then you don’t go at all either my way or the highway that makes no sense at all, I think Disney is crumbling in all different aspects of the company and I hope that they can get things situated. I don’t think that’s fair for that kind of situation.

But if you have an emergency and you’re using an ECV or scooter how can you turn around in a long line? How can you flag a cast member when there is no cast member in the lines? This means if you are getting an asthma attack or need to leave for restroom bc you just took meds or ate in line. Now you can’t turn around and leave? Also if you are visiting by yourself how can you get help?

I read that the CMs will be monitored on the number of return time accommodations they hand out at rides. If they have too many, they'll have a meeting with higher ups.

I’m autistic with low support needs and I’ve got PTSD. I cannot use the return to line system. I cannot wait in a long line at all cause of my sensory processing disorder. I’ve been using the das pass for about 10 years now and I’m extremely angry about the exclusion of certain disabilities. In attempts to try to be more inclusive, Disney just ended up being more ableist. So much for talks of inclusion. All they care about is money, not diversity.

This is UTTERLY DISGUSTING. Speaking as a physically disabled person who used the pass (I have phiefer syndrome and have had over 20 surgeries) I am utterly appalled. Yes abled body people lied to gain access to the service but they wouldn’t have done that had Disney not continue to increase the prices for genie+. The worst part is I see SOOOO MANY regular people mocking disabled folk for being upset over this. They should be aiming this vitriol towards Disney cause they do not give a shit about the regular line, this is just an excuse to charge even more for genie so if you’re acting high and mighty cause you can buy genie get ready for even more bullshit pricing. I can’t believe I’m saying this as someone who went to Disney a lot as a kid and is passionate about theme parks but I am officially never going to Walt Disney world ever again while this ableist bullshit continues. I know the situation I’m putting myself into 🤷‍♀️ that said, the last time I went to Disney I’ve come back with a terrible infection that landed me in the hospital, so I may be masking in the future, but regardless I don’t think it’s from the lines; I think it’s from all the people and germs everywhere. I pay for genie + gladly as I’m already paying close to $200 per day to be there and may as well pay an extra $20 to alleviate some of my concerns 🤷‍♀️ not sure how I’d feel if I had a child who needed accommodations, though

I think people who do this should be banned due to safety. I saw a video of someone doing this on splash mountain as well, and when people see others do this, they feel emboldened to do it too. If people know they will be banned for this dangerous behavior, maybe they will think twice. I hope she received some sort of penalty that will serve as a warning to others

I’m typically so used to riding the lighting lane side of space mountain, so this recent trip riding the stand by side was HORRIFYING. The first lift hill when another cart goes RIGTH by past your left side- SCARED THE SH!T out of me!
