RX7 BEST MAINTENANCE MODIFICATION EVER!!!
Today we are tackling one of the most difficult maintenance jobs on the RX7 and modifying it, so that it may be much easier from this day forward. Maintenance is very important to the life of the rotary engine and when it is ignored the engine will definitely let you know the hard way. I hope that this video helps many owners and if it did help you please let me know by liking and subscribing. See you in the next one.

    • @arrivendrive6831
      @arrivendrive6831 Месяц назад

      Both setups are great. I really like my rotary extreme vmount, but my one complaint is that it is hard to find a way to feed cold air into my k&n filter. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy the Greddy. I really like how Greddy did the tank pipe, and it leaves room for a ram air intake. The rotary extreme does have a larger intercooler for higher power cars. If you are not going over 600rwhp, the greedy should be more than sufficient. Thank you for your comment, and I hope I was able to help.

    • @arrivendrive6831
      @arrivendrive6831 Месяц назад

      There is absolutely no reason why a rotary engine does not last at least 100,000 miles. My engine lasted 110,000 miles until I dropped it off for paint. I left the car at the shop with very little fuel and the painter got into boost on a joy ride and popped my engine. The current engine has about 20k on it and runs super strong. Never run a rotary car hard on less than a quarter tank. The hard acceleration will slosh the fuel away from the fuel pick up line and cause the engine to starve of fuel and die. The key is a good engine builder, good tuner and good maintenance. If you are interested in more information I will post a video if you like. My viewers are very important to me.

      I driven two cars on mountain roads. A 2012 chally 392 and the rx7 Fd. I can tell you the RX7 runs circles around the chally. Driving the FD feels as though the engineers at Mazda engineered the rx7 specifically for mountain roads. It is a very good car and underrated, in my opinion. I drove it hard for multiple runs on the mountain, and it is still running on its motor that got freshed up in 2016.

      @@arrivendrive6831 I had to stop watching the video but appreciate that you put it out there for others who got something from it. Please work on steadying the camera. I believe some people think it's artistic to have the camera unstable. I'm here to tell you that's not true. It's a massive distraction. Separately, I owned a 1988 RX-7 SE. Bought it used when it was only a couple years old. Loved the car. Learned to drive stick in that car. Later realized that if you can smoothly shift that generation of RX-7, you can drive any other manual very well. What I mean by that is that the 3rd gen RX-7 shifted smoothy into 1st gear only if gas was applied at almost the moment the engine would stall. If gas was applied a little too early, the engine/transmission would be jittery on initial acceleration. Fast forward to today and I have been driving my 2004 VW GTI, 2.8jL normally aspirated V6, 6-speed manual for 20 years this November. I'm the original owner and only driver. The car has 170K miles and the original clutch. Mostly highway driven, but still, I take care of the clutch, and I attribute this to the way I learned to drive my manual RX-7. I've always been interested to know how the FD RX-7 shifts. Back in the mid-90s the FD was an aspirational car for me. Now I feel it's too late to buy something that old after it's like changed hands a lot of times, and probably been modded poorly. Regardless, I still like to look of all three generations of the RX-7. All a're rare. Autotrader shows one particular 1995 RX-7 that looks like it's been very well kept, but I can't see myself buying it for $65K. If I owned the car in the 90s and was able to hang onto it all these years, I would never sell it, but to buy it used at this point, I can't justify the money and likely maintenance headaches without fully knowing the car's history. I any case, I share your love for the FD RX-7. I also liked the 1991 anniversary RX-7. Here'sthe one that's for sale that I mentioned: www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicle/698208983?allListingType=all-cars&city=Anaheim&makeCode=MAZDA&modelCode=RX7&newSearch=false&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fall-cars%2Fmazda%2Frx-7%2Fanaheim-ca%3FnewSearch%3Dtrue%26searchRadius%3D0%26startYear%3D1993%26zip%3D92807&searchRadius=0&startYear=1993&state=CA&zip=92807&clickType=listing

      I sold my Rx7 FB years ago on its original motor and it had 153,000 miles. The engine still had great compression. My last engine in my Fd blew at 85k after the person painting my car took it for a joy ride with high boost and low fuel level. I personally have never blown a rotary engine. When my new engine was built, the engine builder told me there is no reason why the engine should not last at least 100k. I have heard of good stories and bad rotary stories. The one above is mine.
