This is truly the best, no nonsense, honest home decor advice, ever! I am a mature woman and have experienced many of these items from home to home… And I wish I had this advice many years ago to avoid purchasing or replacing items for instance open consoles, glass table tops and more recently the popular rattan perforated lamp shades.

The sweet homes with character are an easy choice to live in. But the odd cantilever one drew me in with my curiosity to see how the units worked. The sad, plain little house with no curb appeal drew me in as well because I love a fixer-upper. I like to take something plain and a little ugly and let its possibilities shine.

Everything what u said its so obvious! Nth new here. U also forgot that every colour can go more into cold or warm tone. So f.ex.green can be warm or cold. So its not about colour by itself! Its about colours temperature. Regarding windows its easy and cheap method:just use mirrors in front of the windows. It gives u extra narural light from both sides. And my advice is not only invite nature into ur home but also visit nature as often as u can if u feel depressed (so location of ur home like parks/ forests around can also help). Hopefully ur next video will be more discovering 🧡

Why doesnt this channel have a million subscribers

I went through this McGee class right before I redid my living room. Some ideas/suggestions are just more “design” and not for real living. So you have to have a firm foundation to not fall into these “for design show off” only. It’s just not practical. “Eat the meat and spit out the bones” one of my professors always reminded us of.

Master class is worth it if you have a lot of time and actually schedule your classes through the year. Most classes have a downloadable class notes you can save on your computer. I appreciate this review because now I won’t be tempted to watch it.

So true about the balconies. I noticed this in a lot of apartments/condos here in Canada/BC… They are very small and seem unused with nothing on them or they are staged to use, but never see people using them. Great insight to so many things to be aware.

Great suggestions! Regarding pools of light, not only do pools of light make a environment more warm and cozy but they often can make a small room feel larger. Whereas with a large central overhead light, it is great for cleaning the room but tends to make the room feel smaller. I renovated the kitchen in our old house a few years ago. It came with a large overhead light. I left the large overhead light in but added some over-counter lights, some under cabinet lights and some lights on top of the cabinets shining up at the ceiling. The variety of location of lights makes the room feel a lot bigger as well as more cozy and inviting.

How is small cabinet under the sink and one shelf above the toilet even enough? I've renovated my micro bathroom a month ago and just have ordered 4 cabinets to be made to fit the size and I'm still worried if they're going to contain all the stuff I own. Where do you do laundry, hang it, keep cleaning devises, detergents, where do you keep the buckets, bowls, washing powders/gels and all the supplies?

My younger cat puts himself in baskets, lol
