Right on! What was all wrong with it?

@@manicmotox4214 it needed a decent amount of things but nothing very hard carb needed rebuilt and the cam timing chain was worn so it had some chain slap noise when i fixed the timing chain i made sure the valves were in spec still I had to get a new battery and I just had to find all the spots in the wiring harness that were broken(corrosion) got all my lights working did a oil change and new filters put new grips on it needed new tires and the bars were bent so I got new bars and its pretty nice now i like it a lot plus it's making my friends get dual sports my dad and my brother got one and now my other friend is trying to get one!

Mine would be "good", around 28 to 32 fps just walking around. But once I start a fire fight or anything it dips waay low lol. Havent played in at least a year or so.

cavediverjc Thanks for the comment! Sounds like you got a real killer deal. These bikes can be a lot of addictive fun lol. I put new sprockets on mine last year I believe, however I had an issue on re-install. i just got a 2001 for the same price with 11k miles, i need to figure out how to restore the plastics and gas tank somehow because theyre painted, other then that its basically mint besides a bit of wear and tear from it being 25 years old. cant wait to get my license and ride it in the backroads this year, cant see myself ever owning a dirt bike or street bike XD

i just bought a 01 to but it needs new plastics and a fuel tank but i cant find any :(

Thanks for the reply! I didn't even think about an emissions deal, just always wondered why lol. Thought that horsepower should increase with new models not decrease.

@@manicmotox4214 the older ones have 28 and the newer one have 23 due to a changed cam profile

That makes sense, I wonder. Is it the same concept as the Yamaha FZ6R having a de-tuned R6 engine?

@@manicmotox4214 Not quite the same, the FZ6R is not so much Detuned as Retuned. they make it less peaky but with better low to mid range power so you don't have to wring its neck so hard.

I have a 2004 klr 250. How do you easily "reverse" it!?

Agree brakes aren’t too good but I got pipe, air box mod and rejet and it’s not bad.

I appreciate you commenting. Basically since I built my computer back in 2009 and haven't upgraded any parts since then. It's a wee-bit outdated lol, to say the least. About the only "upgrade" i can do now is to put in DDR3 Ram with the DDR2 that is installed. If you would like me to provide a better break down comparison, just let me know. I would be happy to provide it.

Thank you, I appreciate the comment! I will be doing more motorcycle vlogs....however in the meantime, there are a couple things that need my attention. So it is put up for now, will get more bike videos going in the future. It is really bugging me that I can't ride it right now. Also the weather we have in Oregon currently makes it tough as well. Just looking for a stretch of sunny days to line up with moment of opportunity really. Again, thank you for the comment!

ManicMotoX yeah I actually have a 06 Suzuki dr 200se and a 99 klr250 and I just got a 2017 Yamaha fz07 and now the two dual sport bikes feel very under powered now that I have the fz07 lol I wish I had the power from the fz07 on the Suzuki dr200 frame and I also just realized I put street legal dual sports lol!!!!

Haha, hey no big deal bro! I knew what you meant. I could only imagine the difference between the fz07 and the 200/250. The fz07 is a really nice bike man! If all goes well this year, hoping to part with the klr, and try and get my hands on a yamaha fz6. I really want to start getting some serious road miles under me, and hoping to be able to commute on it as well. It was really nice to hear back from you.

ManicMotoX yeah that’s cool I heard the fz6 is a great bike and the reason I got the fz07 was because of insurance and even tho I have my endorsement on my fz07 it’s 1600 a year for comprehensive and on the fz09 or fz10 it would of been 2,000 a year but the insurance would of been the same for the fz09 and fz10 which is crazy if I would of had 3,000 more I would of had the fz10 if I had a lil bit more cash but anyways it’s a great bike you won’t need much more you will do 51mph in first and like 80mph in second so no need for a big bike but the torque tho and I hope to see more Vlogs man and are you in North Carolina?

I do plan to do more vlogs in the future, just not sure on timing and also when I'll be back on the bike. I don't want to repeat last year, I maybe logged about 400 miles. Also, sorry dude I am out on the west coast in Oregon. Not many vloggers out this direction that are close, that I know of.

My cam chain broke....

Hey Shane Powers, in my experience it does warm up fairly quickly. It has never gotten really hot off the bat. The only time I have noticed it starting to get hot is if I am trail riding it and giving it quick bursts of throttle frequently. Other than that, seems to run warmed up, but not hot. I apologize for taking so long to reply, been extremely busy last few weeks. I appreciate the comment!

ManicMotoX yeah that’s the same with mine but it will heat up a bit much of it’s at idle too long or on very low speed

Hey WiggleMcJiggles, glad to hear your going to get one in a couple years, it will be a lot of fun. About the videos, between bike maintenance that was almost hitting me left and right it seemed lol, I haven't had a whole lot of free time to make videos at the moment. But most of that is and will be calming down, so will have to see if I can get back to videos. I really enjoyed making them and sharing thoughts and random stuff with you guys.

I just thought I would drop another reply since i've been silent after my first comment. I have been able to find a way around the not having time issue, videos are in production and currently being edited. I will be dropping a new video soon, I appreciate your patients. I appreciate the comment! I have had a ton of fun on mine, between buzzing around town, being on the highway. I have only done the dual sport part a few times, but it was a blast to be able to go off road without having to haul it lol.

I hear you there, and totally agree. Totally dependable bike, I would hate to have to try and push start one of the heavier ones lol. Fortunately I haven't had to experience that

Oh yes it is. My stepfather has one (from 1987) which was "parked" and forgotten for 14 years now. Last sunday I just made an oil change with new filter and it started like it did when it was brandnew :D
