Here to encourage and inspire you to start your automotive project.
Hey there, I'm Javier. After years of neglecting my automotive passion, my wife Ashley inspired me to buy our first project car. Embarking on a project like this can be intimidating, so we started recording and sharing our journey to help MOTIVATE and INSPIRE you to build too. 🛞💨
Follow along and you'll find that starting your own automotive projects isn't as hard as others make it look. 😉

E46 N46B18 engine error "vvt self learning function lower learning range" 2A61, relearning via INPA helps drive another 200-300 km, sometimes after oil changed till 1000km, but then error appear again, relearning was done more than 100 times. Has anyone encountered something similar?
Haven't had that issue, but would recommend testing each item that could potentially throw the code...
That's not "too thin" it's a plethora of problems... The 2 that really stick out are: 1 - poor layer bonding because either you're cooling it too much (cold environment or high fan speed) or printing at too low of a temp. 2 - under extrusion because you haven't calibrated your flow rate for the filament. Try Orca Slicer and go through all the calibration tests for each filament to get better prints.
Thx, will give orca slicer a try. Never used it before. Thx 🙌
use zig zag infil
Will give that a try too, thx for tip
I replaced my throttle body icv and disa and still have the code 1580…. I’m irritated now any help would be appreciated. Although I don’t expect anyone to reply.
Oh man, were the icv and disa actually bad? You should be able to test them. Maybe check and see if your hose to the fuel pressure regulator is ok? That caused all our issues…
@ hmm thank you I’ll check it today. I don’t see a vac hose tbh it doesn’t look like it even has one

You were asking about compressors. I used a Craftsman 5HP big tank for years but it wasn't enough for blasting IMHO. I then spent about 1700$ on a vertical air compressor with a huge tank, dual pistons, cast iron cylinders, 230V, and I have plenty of air now. I know it's a bit of an investment, but it will last you many years to come.
Nice, what size tank??? Just got a 230V scroll air compressor, but having a spare tank might help depending on what we decide to vapor or sand blast.
Looks like a Mazda B1800
Its from a 1984 BMW e30 :)
Too time consuming, i'll pay someone else to do it, lol

@@Itsallaboutthebuild The bone stock single piston brake caliper and brackets.
@@Fahrenheit38 oh nice, but yes use a dedicated oven 😁
After cleaning as good as you can get it!!! Bake the part for 15 minutes BEFORE you put any power on !! THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE FOR ANY PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO OIL !!! Clean one more time and pre heat part for 10 minutes, pull the part out of the oven , let the part sit for a couple of minutes and apply 1st coat if it’s a two powder system. Bake 15 minutes and apply 2nd coat of 2 part system. The powder coat manufacturers will specify the temperature and duration of minutes to bake !! A CLEAN PART IS YOUR FRIEND ! IMHO…
Thx for the tips. What type of cleaner do you suggest???

What’s the difference between this and fusion bonded epoxy?
@@kscipkkkk sorry, not familiar with fusion bonded epoxy
Don’t put aluminum in ultrasonic cleaners. It’ll eat away any corners and drastically compromise strength. Learned it the hard way. Especially thinner parts.
Oh really? What type of parts? I'm guessing thin aluminum?
@ in my case it was suppressor baffles. Looked like tiny mice had been eating away at them from the edges. Anything with corners/hard edges will do the same, even thicker pieces. Cast parts tend to have rounded edges, so not so much of a problem. There is a pretty wild rabbit hole of metallurgical studies of structural and internal damage you can end up going down. Coatings like cerakote and similar (even type 3 anodizing) can be damaged too. Knocks them right off the aluminum surface. Also found out the hard way since I didn’t think it could happen 😒
I love c vectra seat bc its pneumatically adjustable in 4 dimensions, buts costs a fortune :D I sold my e36 drift car a year ago :( But i have a seat cordoba in my yard :D its just not comfy

Where can I buy a heavy load Unistrut Trolley p2950 or more wheels with a width of 35.4mm from wheel to wheel? I bought one on Temu but the description was wrong because it was only 33.7mm and now it wobbles in the Strut instead of fitting snug and running smoothly through...
@@A7Self Amazon 😁
on Amazon I found the same product from a different seller. As well I found a newer version but have trouble to ask the seller if the dimensions (width) are 100% accurate before purchasing it. The brand is called SKTREX but I can’t find information about them anywhere online. The space I have within the Strut is 36.2mm. I think the width of the trolley could be anywhere between 35mm (like the SKTREX) and 36mm. I am searching for a group online who makes diy mods on those things but again nothing. If you have more info on that topic please let me know. Kind Regards Alexander

Have the file available?
@@NastyNubbz I do, but I have to add it to our website, www.allaboutthebuild.com
the part has to reach 400 degrees NOT the oven...for the full cure, within 10 min of that cure, you can check to make sure the powder is 100 covered and no light spots, if you see a light spot take it out of the oven let it cool to 100-120 degrees and reshoot the entire part lightly with the low voltage..then set it back in for the finish again at 400 degrees for the part to cure properly ...oh and wear gloves, your hands have oil on them that will NOT allow the powder to stick properly...
Cool, we use a infrared gun to determine the temperature of the part. Any downside to this???
@@Itsallaboutthebuild not really...always check for empty spots especially corners, tight spots...i used the blue masking take on some parts which works great when you powder coat, then remove it before you put it in the oven,
