This is a two channel Microphone/Line valve preamplifier that I designed using 2 6AU6 Pentodes and 2 6GU7 Dual Triodes. I used UTC Special Series microphone Input transformers for input. For output transformers I used two FREED Millitraty Spec 10K:600Ω transformers, driving the output stage with a low impedance. I used a slightly tweak Baxandal tone stack with center detent pots. Over All has t...

Excellent video. Very well illustrated, even with direct drawbacks!! Showing assembly reality, and its possible problems!!! Congratulations 😊 !!!
Nice work
Absolutely GORGEOUS
Just be very carefull with those long plate leads. You cab set up a RF oscilation

I doubt this comment will be noticed but i use a lot of magnet wire for winding coils and i use a knipex stripping tweezers. They are brilliant and clean top and bottom at the same time cleaning is much faster and cleaner. Just thought i would mention it.

Merci
Proves my point. I’ve accused you before of having mad skills. What can I say. Point proven.
🙏🙏🙏
I would definitely buy this oh my GOD its such a beautiful circuit
Thank you for your support
Всё плохо,... Можно сделать лучше, например ruclips.net/video/gsZrCRxiUJs/видео.htmlsi=lP0G5toxYhtlvp6M
That Kapton tape is a very good material to secure wire with. It has become very expensive. Regular yellow tape is a good second go-to material (inexpensive) to wrap transformer windings with.
Nice work
I love the seventh about as much as I love tube gear! Perfect video.
No fancy winding machine needed, building one from Lego is possible and it also goes back and forth, video available.
lol perfect
Beautiful! How do you calculate the number of turns per winding for the required impedance, wattage etc?
Hi Can I ask from which procedure you use to calculate the number of layers and its arrangement for P and S
Hi Saeed, I highly advice to get the book RCA Radiotron Designer’s handbook fourth edition, this book will have all the math and in depth info
Why the paper between the two iron casing sections?
Since this is a single ended transformer the core needs to be air gapped so it doesn’t saturate, the air gap can be calculated and measured and added by paper.
Классный станочик!😅😅😅

Hi, Nice VU meter. What’s the sensitivity of the meter this circuit supports (FSD) ? Will you give circuit details if I buy the Pcb from Ebay ? Thank you
It can be anywhere from 50uA-2mA from what I’ve tested
The pcbs come with all BOM silkscreened and additionally BOM can be emailed to you
No real information here. Ion area/volume or turns / volt info. Not able to duplicate.
My intention wasn’t to make a video for others to duplicate, it was to show how I go about winding a transformer.
Thanks sir
Arash, I own a high end stereo, 1950s ampeq amplifiers, Fulton j speakers from the late 70s. The input transformer for one of the rtr tweeters is open, I have owned this system since the 1980s, I am reaching 70. Do you know where I can get this repaired or replaced. You do beautiful work by the way.
cool friend.. What I want to ask is, what size coker (wire housing) are you using in this video???
The size of the bobbin ?
@@ARASHMAFI1 Yes, that's right... what size is your bobbin in this video
@@reareochannel4470 if I remember correctly the window of the bobbin core cross section was 63mmx39mm
Mesmerising... Excellent upload.
Dear Arash, could you please let me know if this frequency response test shown is being done under working conditions, such as DC bias at the primary of your transformer and also secondary winding load conditions. Thank you !
Yes this was taken under working condition
Great video, but the music is not necessary
Sorry you don’t like the music but It was playing in my living room during the shoot, and I didn’t want to spend 6 hours winding in silence…
The music was just as necessary as your comment. You can simply turn down your device volume.
Using solid state in PSU?
Yes solid state power supply with maida style regulator
nice!
sir. what is software finaly transfomer checked . thanks
Good stuff!
Dig it?😊
How do I order more?
Hi would you like the single channel or dual chan? I can upload to my eBay store or I can invoice you directly

Can I send you a few to repair for me? I have a power supply that hasn’t worked in a year because of a blown transformer an cannot find a replacement
How can I find ur email? I messaged ur instagram
This looks great. Any chance of a link to the schematic? I've just got hold of some NOS 807's, myself.
What is the size of bobin you using
If I remember correctly it was designed around EI114 core
Arash is the MAN :-) !! I found him from this video. I had a very expensive Laboratory Instrument that is End of Life, No parts or service available from the original manufacturer. A Transformer was burned out on one of the boards. I removed it and sent it to Arash. This was a very difficult transformer, completely vacuum coated in epoxy. It took him a long time to remove the epoxy and unwind all of the different voltage layers, counting as he removed each layer. In the end he did a great job. Unfortunately, it fixed the original problem but revealed another problem, so the instrument still is out of service. It was still worth the gamble. His price for the job was reasonable. A used instrument the same age, also End of Life is $6,000. A New instrument is $60,000. Thank You ***AAAA***
Thank you Mike! I appreciate your kind words and it was fun hand winding that beast !
Do you mind sharing some info on this build? Thanks.
For the life of me, I'll never figure out why the audio industry has all but abandoned the use of almost any transformers in audio circuitry. For starters (pun intended), in the audio input section, a 600:600 ratio isolation transformer is like magic. Literally eliminates all ground and spurious noise. In the final output section, God forbid your output transistors short and supply bias DC voltage to your speaker cabs. You'll be replacing voice coils. Whereas, a transformer to deliver the signal to your speakers, transformers do not pass solid DC voltage. Problem solved.
I guess like most things in our times, it comes down to one word: Money
@@pouyan225Yes. It's money that counts. Nobody is going to pay for durability and use and throw method is adopted. In terms of high-end and quality still prevailing in India. Stranger, Ahuja, Philips India still making mfg transformer based PA amplifiers although costly.
@@shamimahmed4556, yep, overall cost is the god they worship and where the gold ($) flows in from.
I’ve started making some hand wound transformers out of salvage units. No, I didn’t buy these units. I’m doing it for myself.
@@DonnieLuve I know a little known fact about warm sounding audio like from tube amps. It's not just the tubes that give you the warm, fuzzy. I've found out through research and R&D that transformers on the input and output stages incredibly changes the sound giving it a nice, highly dynamic sound.
I was just wondering if stagger stacking the I's and E's makes any difference in the transformer's response or efficiency?
Probably not much, I’ve only seen that method on older laminations with lower Gs
Very good job!, I would like to know how test these transformers! Can you tell us please?
Very good needle response 👌👌. Is the driver circuit self designed?
Thank you, yes it is and I have PCBs available in single and dual channel
Running klipsch rp5000mkII on this type of amp, runs really smooth
Looking forward to the potting and finishing video. Where did you source the winder? I also would be interested in a detailed listing of the parts (and their source) used in the making of this transformer. How did you determine the parameters (wire gauge, turn numbers, air gap thickness, etc) needed? Thanks.
How Much?

Dear, I wouldn't publish such a rubish transformer winding. You've got no idea and comptetence how properly this shall be done. Have a look here ruclips.net/video/YRI4s2bCUQI/видео.html
At least now, I know I can’t do it.
