In this video we will be doing a van conversion for work, camping and surfing. Not a vanlife video because I wont be living in the van. Will need to carry tools and a surfboard as well as having a bed set. Watch us transform the van from empty to Full bed and drawer system, insulating the van and carpeting the bed. Enjoy :)

    Bit of a dummy question but how did you get the wiring through the hole in the roof without worrying about leaks etc? Did you put sealant/silicon around it or something? About to do the same with mine but a bit stumped with this part!

    Nice job m8. Got a similar plan, although, I left the parcel barrier. Hung a folding table on it behind the driver, and on the left was a fridge with another folding table. I cut the centre out of the parcel barrier so I could get access both ways. Then seats behind that to sit to eat. But I'm a 160cm shortarse. Got a propper camper dunny, behind the seats and a cooker and sink on the left. Bein 160cm I can sleep cross ways. Under the bed is a boot with access from inside and through the doors. Lidded storage over the wheel arch area. Yours looked a better than mine, and with the tools I saw your way more skilled than me at the build. I like the way you did the carpet!

    Hi Boys, How do you get the side panels on the back of the van off? I’m guessing there is a special tool you use to pinch the pretend screws but f**ked if I can remove them on my I load. Cheers

      @brettvk4bde 2 года назад

      Hey Lee, the guys are correct an auto clip removal tool will be fine just be careful you don't break them. i removed all of my panels that had those clips and replaced the panels with thicker ply (after adding insulation in wall) then secured with rivet nuts. No more clips :)

    • @leerichards50
      @leerichards50 2 года назад

      @@brettvk4bde Thanks Brett. You could resolve my real question. I’d like to have my bed across the back of the van. I’m 178cm and the width of the van at the back (with the factory side panels installed) is 163cm. I’m wondering if I were to remove the side panels would that give me the additional 15cm I need. I’m not sure what’s behind the panels, there could be some structural beams/components that would prevent me from using that space. Even if there aren’t, I’m not sure there is 7cm on each side. What’s your thoughts? Cheers

    • @brettvk4bde
      @brettvk4bde 2 года назад

      @@leerichards50 behind those panels is open space and no brackets unless you fit some sort of structure to hold the bed. I have made a couch that folds out to a lounge which sits on the right side of the van. For more ideas search for drifta and see what they do.
