It's crazy that I've been actively trying to avoid moving into the city most of my life (grew up in Baltimore county), but now that I'm older, I'm finally realizing there's more to it than the tiny little pocket I've been exposed to all my life. I honestly never gave the thought the time of day, but Locust Point or Canton would probably be perfect for me.

I didn't think there were any "Best Neighborhoods" in Baltimore.

Hi, thanks very much for the nice introduction to the neighborhoods of Baltimore. I'm wondering to travel from NYC to canton, what would you suggest as the safest way to get there? Taking the train and an Uber to canton or drive all the way from nyc through 95 highway? Thanks a lot.

Would you say Caton on Federal Hill for walkability, access to grocery stores and nice area for a young woman to live? Any particular apartment recommendations?

In the 90’s I lived in Bolton Hill, had the best time of my life. Not sure what it’s like now but back then it was the place to be.

Bought my first home in 2021. I love the Lauraville and Hamilton neighborhoods. When I discovered Westfield, I fell in love and bought a beautiful home in a picturesque neighborhood. Love it here.

Baltimore is an extremely dangerous city.....enter at your own risk and peril. The city property taxes are insanely high. No thanks.

I was born and raised in Baltimore and lived there until I was 30. Married and moved to Florida, North Carolina and Alabama. Let me tell you if you are not born in the south, they do not accept you as a neighbor or friend. I occasionally return to Baltimore to visit family and when I do, I am struck by how very nice the people are and how much I miss it. Baltimore IS charm city.

Parkville was great growing up as an adolescent. 🤷🏿‍♂️ In Rancho Cucamonga now.

I was looking at federal hill and fells point but looking at sea level rise charts I don't think they're a safe bet so I'm looking around Charles Village instead.

Catonsville High School is racist and not very welcoming to students of color particularly African American and Hispanic Americans, Pikesville High school is terrible they have a special education program where the students have really bad behavior problems they integrate those children with the other students and it causes problems, there is also racial bias at Pikesville High School where the staff will look out for the white kids and make sure they don’t get bullied but all the Black kids that get bullied taunted and harassed have to deal with without any staff intervention. Pikesville also has a lot of violent ghetto children that come from the park heights area too.

Baltimore County Public Schools are shit and very underfunded with the exception of Towson High, Dulaney High, Eastern Technical High those are the only good schools in Baltimore County

This video made me chuckle: Roland Park 85% White; Locust Point 88% white (oh and google the story of a African American owned dessert shop who was told she didn't belong in the neighborhood); Fells Point 61% white - ok this is much better because the next high population is Hispanic; I'm adding Inner Harbor (downtown baltimore) 73% white; Federal Hill 83% white; AND Canton 90% white (I had a white friend who, when I told her I wanted to move near her in Caton/Patterson Park area, she told me that "she didn't think it was a good idea" but didn't explain!! LOL. She didn't have to explain. The creator, Van The Agent, is looking for a "certain type" of client. I don't need to explain that either!

People who have extremely nice cars in Baltimore have them for a reason. They do not have them because they’re “pretentious”. Wishing you the best of luck.

If they were actually smart they would develop in the harbor, not the already beautiful historic “predominant” areas. Do not act like Baltimore is stupid. Believe you me. Never do that. No one needs you in Baltimore to “save us”. Good luck.

Do not think because you are now working in Johns Hopkins that you now own this city. The people that come for Johns Hopkins for their help think that they are always better than the neighborhoods around it.

Charles Village should be in the top 5, those Painted Ladies are just amazing and there is so much to do with the Wyman Dell, the BMA, restaurants, coffee shops and more!

Would it be better to not report renovation and pay the taxes the house was originally assessed for. I’ve seen many rehab homes in the area that’s assessed much lower than what’s it’s valued for. That’s because they didn’t report any renovations to the city. House valued at 400k and assessed for $50k.

Definitely biased towards canton/Patterson Park considering I live about 3 blocks from there!!! I love charm city!!!

Hampden is not worth a sh%^ anymore it used to be a great neighborhood until this new crowd moved in and brought all thier politics with them and thier little rainbow flags ,i tear them down where ever i find them. Yea this new generation really screwed up Hampden that is for sure.
