Blender: Procedural aging leather node
Awesome video, congrats!
Followed everything plugging linear light into voronoi texture makes it all disappear even after lowering the factor :(
lol had to watch like 2 seconds more you covered it i had to use texture coordinate > Generated > Mapping not UV xD
@@RM.-_-. haha ok perfect :)
is there a way to do this with an empty (like I'm using a empty to project a texture but I want it to change when it rotates on the z axis)
That I am not sure. This is a rather old video (blender 3, one of the earlier versions) so if I were to do it again today probably it would be good to look into geometry nodes as there may be some function there that is more flexible.
life saver! Thank you so much :D
glad it helped :)
This videos is awesome. But I'm having a hard time trying to figure out the Blender's object naming scheme and hierarchy for all this to work. Like there's no way a common user would just jump at blender, know exactly how to name the simple collision meshes, parent/child them and send them to Unreal. Is there a full list of "accepted Unreal 5" names that will be recognized from Blender, somewhere?
There's none as far as I know; unfortunately Unreal's documentation has long been known for missing bits and pieces. That being said, if you don't have something complex like a bridge or a chair with gaps etc. you can often get away with using UE5's auto-convex-collision with acceptable results, which can streamline the process a lot.
@@cgkrab Thank you for your reply, and going +lengths to get this into a video format for all other users. Great content!
Your channel is amazing, mate! Keep up the good work! Also: Have you dealt with issues exporting blender's Uvs to U5 light bake in UV1 channel?
haha cheers! I haven't, but I am mostly using Lumen these days which does not require lightmaps.
loveeeeeeeeeeeeee itttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use Blender 4.0 still and I haven't tried 4.3 and I bring this up cause there was one tutorial that used the musgrave texture and I heard that it's no longer on 4.3. Great job dude!
Can you sell me this shader, I want to use in my project
haha it will be up on the marketplace at some point - I made it because there wasn't a good bubbling shader available that I could find, but it's based on a complex water shader I made for river and ocean water so it needs some work before it's actually ready to migrate between projects.
omg!!!! thankyou awesome tutorial!!!
<3
There's so much pain in your eyes. I hope you're doing better.
haha thanks. Yeah, a lot better - there are a couple videos I recorded around the time I had COVID and I had a pretty rough voice/exhaustion for a very long time. 👍
I have armature, and it said it doesnt find a skeletal mesh when i try this.
So i placed the armature outside the empty and it worked, but the LODs are swizzled. Not even flipped. They are all over the place
Hello - you can auto-generate skeletal mesh LODs inside of UE, it is not so straight forward to export them for blender (what is described here is for static meshes only).
@@cgkrab Eh, tbh i didnt really need to do it, but have terrible OCD and couldnt let it go xD. LODs are so frustrating and make me so angry. But yeah, i will just nanite it lmao
Thanks for this! Exporting from Blender to Unreal is still fairly new to me.
I learnt this in Uni, but I completely forgot the process and couldn't find it again until now, very useful information.
why don't i see the metalicness?
@@DrevadaOfficial If you are in certain Blender 4.0 versions, it has been moved into dropdown on the new principled bsdf node (you may have to expand it). If you share a screnshot I can point you in the right direction.
The way you look at the camera Right in the eyes👀 Love it! Thank you for the amazing tutorial really helped a lot
so easy to understand
I was completely bamboozled by this. I feel I know less now.
bubble bubble blub blub
Thank you for showing us how this is done. I really appericate the tutorial. keep it up.
11:59 - `Ctrl + F2` to "Batch rename..." is your friend (if you have a lot of shapes to rename).
ASMR, Blender edition. 🙃
I have a question i don't know if you're going to be able to respond, imagine that I don't import the usd file into unreal and I get the file by path like I get it with a url path, can i still have collisions ? Note that I aint importing the file to my unreal project, I'm putting the name as "UCX_" but still I don't have collisions. Also I know you're working with fbx file, but I was wondering if you could help me anyways. Hope you can help me mate !
@@perez4506 I have not tried .USD but you can also manually add simple collision inside of UE if the .USD format is not cooperating
@@cgkrab I can if I import the .USD, if I don't import the .USD I have to find a way to "go around" of the problem, right ? Because if you don't import the .USD into UE you dont have a static mesh. But try to work with .USD, it's a new challenge for you :D, if you want of course, but I'll search a bit more and hopefully I'll find anything !! But thanks dude, keep going !! :D
Hi thanks for this video. How do I do this when my Blender model has a rig and animations? When I add the empty and import to Unreal, it will import the LOD's but it will not create a skeleton. Any other way I tried to import creates a skeleton, but no LOD's. I also tried to import the mesh and rig/animations separately but when I choose to apply the mesh to the previously imported skeleton, it tells me they couldn't be merged.
Man, you speak toooooooo muuuuuch!!!
From 22:15 how is that edge the opposite of the other and how is the edge flow in 21:20.
Wish u best of success and I tiny bit of luck in top!
dude .. loving it.. what engine.. title?
water
this may be the first tutorial I ever searched for and actually found exactly what I needed to know. excellent tutorial
haha thx! glad it was helpful
Fantastic, thanks! Adding this to my automation tools.
thanks for the tutorial! i used to use the open new level butten to get back to the current level. but i later found that very anoying, but i didnt know another way to close something. thanks for explaining so well!
Great tutorial; thanks!
thanks
nice
I'm a little late to the game (literally), but this is awesome, thanks! I know game engines use different shaders, but I'm looking forward to experimenting with this in different engines
Thank you for the good tutorial!
Thank you very much, very clear and extremely useful
"delete the default crap" 😂
Severely underrated RUclipsr right here guys.
haha thanks, appreciated :)
Man, I dont have enough words to thank you for these tutorials, I've been on and off blender this last semester but anytime I needed to make something on it, you've already made it in an easier way and have a clear and easy to follow tutorial about it. Thanks!!
Dude you look like HP Lovecraft
Really nice channel. You should make more :)
I will try when i have time :)
thanks for making this, super helpful!
Worked great! Thank you!
love it!
Videos are amazing mate. Hope you do more of them! Keep up the good work and im sure you will blow up
thx for explaining everything 😀
when i put on the clothe physics it just make my plane desapear, any idea on why?
Hard to say without knowing what your setup is, probably there is a small change somewhere that you've missed that is causing the issue. One possibility is that the normals of your cloth mesh are in-facing. Another is that something is off with the mesh scale (maybe not applied) or the cloth simulation settings. If you still have issues, another way to get realistic cloth is to model the general shape, use a subsurb modifier on the clothing piece to get a denser mesh, and then sculpt it using the cloth brush in sculpting mode.
Looking for a tutorial just like this thank you
