Restomod Daisy Parts-A-Palooza Christmas post!
My step grandpa found one in a shed and gave it to me only issues it had was surface rust and the barrel was clogged so i had to cut it off because i couldn't get the barrel unclogged likely why someone just left it in a shed but it still works just gotta replace the seals in it
A forgotten and found Daisy! That uses a small seal set for the Model 25 pump gun. Easily available over at Mark Ritters Cobalt 327 store on Ebay.
WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE DAISY PUMP BB GUN ? ONE PUMP ONLY COCKED IT . UNSCREW THE MUZZLE AND OUT CAME THE LOADING TUBE WHICH HELD A LOT . DO THEY STILL MAKE IT ? AS KIDS WE HAD BOTH THE LEVER ACTION AND THE PUMP VERSION.
The Daisy Model 25 is alive and kickin', you can find them at Wally World or online. They start around $52 on up.
@@RestOModDaisy THANK YOU HAPPY NEW YEAR .
Have you ever tried to Tig or mig the cocking lever where it is worn down? Build it up and reshape? I have done it with outboard motor props, aluminum rims and holes in most any kind of aluminum.
@@robertchase-rr7qc I've seen vids on that but do not have welding equipment or very much experience with them. I've seen other guys video's where they drill and tap a small hole in the nub and install a screw to take up the slack and might give that a go.

Nice job!
Love the change up and improvements made to this old Girl !!!! Wow of the speed now !!!!😊😊😊
Thanks Sarge! It's a real shock when shoot it, can't see the BB for kentucky windage/elevation adjustments.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU SHANE AND YOUR FAMILY !!! ALSO EVERYONE HERE !!! LETS HOPE 2025 GOING TO BE A GREAT YEARS .. 😊😊😊🎉
Thanks Sarge! And also to you and yours! I concur, 2025 is gonna be great!
Shane ,outstanding work on the rifle to keep her shooting and bring up the speed !!! Great idea on cutting the feed tube and making it work . Love your Channel and your work .😊😊😊
Thanks Sarge! Terry Cowger was the first guy to cut a Model 25 shot tube up, Nibs over at Walnut&Steel did a Bobcat for a #103 I think and Rex did one for his Mares Leg over at the High Road. It's a mod worth doing if you have any of the 101's, 102's etc and can't find a OEM shot tube. Those little guns are screamers!
Which end of the 25 shot tube did you cut? I've done both. Russ
I cut from the base section because I wanted to use the force feed. Terry's done the same from the other end to add the loading port to the muzzle so you don't have to dismount the tube to reload. I think geezers like us appreciate a break from cycling the gun in oder to comment on other shooters marksmanship or lack thereof.
@RestOModDaisy Hahaha. When I cut from the other end, I recut the notch for the follower and shorten the spring. Either way, I'm glad to have a Dremel!
@@daisylevergunfun4786 I didn't shorten the spring, what's the mag cap with the spring shortened?
@@RestOModDaisy That depends on how short the mag is. Less spring takes up less space. BTW, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
nice Shane!
Thanks for putting up your vid on chopping the shot tube, it was fiddly bits but you were dead on about the time element. I was truly amazed by the speed increase.
@@RestOModDaisy Thanks to Nibs, indeed. I used that same tutorial for my 102.

That tuned out great, Shane. Nice way to honor that gun.

I have an original 102/36. In my family since 1964. Still looks like new !!
Congrats on hanging on to that Legacy Daisy. They are the best!
@ Also have a 1894 that looks about 90%, rebuilt it, shoots well. How about a Sheridan Silver Streak in .20/5mm ( excellent as well ) and a couple of Bucks. Great channel !!!
@@claygood2844 Thanks! It's good to have lots of airguns.

Depends on the gun. I work on mostly small frame Daisy's and some of the wide bodies. I don't work on the Model 25's or the Model 1894's.
Thank you.
My pleasure!
Happy New Year to you and your Family !!!!!!❤❤❤❤😊?😊😊?
And also to you and yours!
Love the wood and design to it is showing off !!!! Beautiful Shane !!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

This is the exact same model that I bought when I was 13 years old. I mail ordered it from Tractor supply company, and it cost me $4.62 delivered on December 13,1969.It is for all practical purposes, worn out, but I have kept it as it was my " first" gun. Great video! I am glad that I found it.
Congrats on your legacy Daisy! Daisy's never wear out, they just need some simple replacement part to resume service. This little puppy wound up running at 354 FPS after a clean up, new mainspring and air tube combo, a new compression cup and a bobcat Model 25 shot tube. Micro Super Thumper!
This is awesome !!! I have worked on a mess of Daisy's over the years. Mainly the 499B !!! I am glad I found this short ! Will be trying to look you up !
Welcome aboard! I've never worked on a 499, just plenty of other wide body Daisy's and my beloved small frames.

@@gordondowdy833 Kudos to you sir! Your teams sound like a lively sharp eyed group of young folk. What kind of parts are you looking for?

Great video Shane .👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks!
Good video Shane.😊
Thanks!
Nice video, Shane! A #102 was my first build (thanks to your training). The stock was broken so I modified a new Buck stock to fit and it's perfect for my grandson. The bottle cap was broken so I shortened up a #25 shot tube and it averages 254 F/S with a standard spring.
I suspect something similar might happen with this particular specimen. When I did the first innards swap experiment with the power triad option this little guy was hitting at 348 FPS. Too bad the current Model 25 shot tube sticks out so far. Bobcat 25 might be in the future.
102-36 is just as classic as a 111. Love them little guns. Russ
Concur!
Awesome. Beautiful job.
Thanks! I think this one will be a real gem.
I am fuzzy on some terms. You said you removed the abutment washer and it was plastic. I was thinking the metal washer or threaded part the shot tube screwed into was the abutment washer and the part you removed was the abutment bushing. Also that the cup part was called the compression cup. So that the spring pushed the cup, compressing the air until it hits up against the plastic bushing and not the metal stop called abutment washer. The bushing acting as a shock absorber between the cup and the metal washer. The bushing looks to come out easy but the metal part (abutment washer? ) has to be driven out past the two tabs that hold it in position so it does not turn when the shot tube is screwed in. Am I close to having that right?
Very close. I misspoke about the abutment seal. The abutment washer is infact steel and secured to the compression clyinder with the two tabs. The abutment seal is in front of that to prevent air loss during the firing cycle as well as cushion some shock, it's main purpose is to seal the compression chamber. When you replace the seal set, you're installing a compression cup on the plunger assembly and the abutment seal on the face of the abutment washer.
@ thanks. Those are the parts I will be trying to buy as my Model 94 needs the work. It has almost zero compression. Still trying to figure out exactly what to buy and where to get them.
@@dandypoint MarK Ritter over at the Cobalt327 store on Ebay has it all. I source parts from him.
@@RestOModDaisy thanks!
@ I can’t find any parts under Cobalt327. I did see a spring come up on one search. Sold out. Think I found his store ( said shipping might be delayed due to being gone till end of December, but when I tried to see all listings there were none. Maybe I am not searching right. I will keep trying.
I've wondered how they worked. I didn't think they was a true airgun, I was wrong.
Off topic, but does anyone have any idea why the Dasiy model 1938b comes with what appears to be a center punch pin?
Is that this years model?
Never seen a daisy that worn, nice
I'm thinking 50,000 rounds of non-maintained wear. The lever mount was slightly twisted to the left which I'm thinking reps a right handed shooter constantly in a hurry.
I had to chuckle at "unintended apparition".
Now you need another ball. Lol
Very nice job Shane .
Thanks!
Beautiful piece. Have you ever seen a pellet rifle, looks just like a standard red Ryder but......with a 5 shot plastic cylinder on the left side of the gun?
Yep, That's a pretty rare Daisy, the model number escapes me as I've only seen a couple of pix for it, never seen one i the flesh.
@RestOModDaisy my Dad bought mine in 1972 at a western auto store in Roseburg Oregon. I haven't seen it since 1977. No idea where it went, never seen another
@@paulberkland5700 Daisy's do have a habit of sailing off into the sunset leaving memories in thier wake.
@RestOModDaisy i don't know if it was rifled or smooth bore, but it was WAY more accurate than my friends red ryder bb model
@@paulberkland5700 Your post about the Daisy lever action BB gun that shot pellets with a 5 round clip intrigued me. Hi merry Christmas 🎅 Shane uk
Right back at cha! Happy New Year!
Hey Shane , was wondering if the cobalt spring and the over boated air tube will work in my 799.19011 Sears black bear and if so where can I purchase them at
Del, Sure! It'll work wonders for Sears 799.19011 Black Bear/Daisy Model 75. Because the model Daisy you have uses the shorter airtube you won't be able to sub in a current production Model 25 shot tube but the cobalt spring swap and the ovebore airtube upgrade will work just fine. You can get them both from Mark Ritter over at his Cobalt 327 Ebay store www.ebay.com/sch/cobalt327/m.html?_trkparms=folent%3Acobalt327%7Cfolenttp%3A1&_trksid=p3542580.m47492.l71970

I am trying to figure out the Daisy numbering so I picked up on you saying the Roger’s gun had a registration number something that the older 94s (from Plymouth) did not” . I wonder if you meant to say that? My Daisy Red Ryder Model 94 has a Register No C323321. I got it for Christmas in 1957 ( give or take a year). Also since it is a Plymouth gun, it had to be pre 1958 and it has an oil hole which I think is 1955 or later. Plus it has plastic stock and forearm and the flip up peep sight.
Daisy register #'s are pretty mysterious. In your case, the plymouth roll stamp and the fact you got the gun in 1957 definitely put's it in the Plymouth era. Head over to the serial number info page at J&G and prepare to get confused www.jgairguns.biz/daisy-register-lot-and-serial-numbers-explained-ezp-55.html
@@RestOModDaisy yes! At least I know about when I got mine new. I actually had two of them. My first one quit working and a year or two later I got the one I have now. It has never missed a beat! I got my son a model 111 B in the 80s. No fore stock and no serial numbers. Plastic stock. No fore arm. No fake magazine tube under the barrel. Otherwise very similar to my Model 94. Its plastic stock is holding up good so far, but it’s not quite 40 years old yet. Still a great shooter and looks nice except for a few scratches. No rust at all! I just ordered a Model 25 today to take the load of the old ones. May make a wood stock for the old one.
@@dandypoint Is the one that quit working hiding out in a closet or long gone?
@ long gone. It was also in the days of Steve McQueen and the program Wanted Dead or Alive. So sometime after 58, maybe 1960 I took a hack saw to it and made a Josh Randle looking gun out of it. Now that I think about it the short air tube must have been the problem as it was not in the gun when I cut it down. I could fire it single shot by sticking the bb in the hole in the cylinder.

I’ve also looked up the year on the gun but not sure . Any help would be appreciated sir . Thank you Del
Del, Congrats onj recovering your leagacy Daisy. Sears contracted with Daisy to build some of thier "store" brands. If your Sears "Bear" gun has a stenciled Bear on both sides of the reciever and does not have a magazine tube under the barrel then it's most likley a Daisy built in Rodgers AR post 1958. All of your internal parts are readily available from several different sources, NOS replacment parts like stocks are hard to come by in good condition. Does it shoot? Your reg # indicates a build date of September of 1977.
