I believe I did cover part of it. That piano track John did on take 37 still remains slightly during the bridge. I just combined his brief part with Paul’s overdubs. But I will definitely cover the entire take 37 piano.

@@wateormelon4400 The bridge part, if I remember correctly, is overdubbed.

@@antoniojoserunez4165Partly yes. Paul’s overdub is the descending line in the middle and end of the bridge. This is apparent because these descending lines are noticeably louder than what was played a couple seconds prior. I meant the continuous A note was John’s doing. You can hear it on Take 37. I combined both parts into one to avoid confusion.

@@antoniojoserunez4165 Yes I believe so as John would’ve been recovering from a car crash he had recently had by the time the other three were wrapping up Something.

I used the Mellotron XL app for all the mellotrons and Numa Player for the piano at the end. After all the parts are recorded, I assemble it with the isolated bass and drums of the original song in IMovie. This is all on IOS.

Okay so this one took a lot. The main mellotron sound is the mellotron built in to the Logic Pro app with a bunch of effects. It is a blend between strings and flutes. For the slide part it is the app Streetlytron ‘63. That is just a guitar mixed with a flute. All of this is on IOS. The app you’re looking at is not the same app I used for the actual sound it is just for visuals.

Yes it is, I didn’t show it but there actually octaves during that bridge. The Moog can only play 1 note at once so I wanted to stay faithful to the original record.

I made them off on purpose, the original recording of this intro had the Clavichord slightly off and out of tune. I assume it was played by John Lennon because of the simplicity and sloppiness, which isn’t a bad thing, it was just his style.

@ I didn’t notice before but you’re right that the original’s not in time either, but it sounds weird when a midi file is out of time, whereas it’s not as noticeable when it’s a real recording (to me anyway). Did you record the midi live with a keyboard or did you input it note by note?

@@jimmyz6980 Not stupid at all, it I takes HEAVY amounts of practice, starting off playing it at a slower speed then speeding it up as you get better. I had major difficulty playing this literally a couple of months ago.

For the piano I used the module app mixed with the piano sound in the Pianoteq app. For the Clavioline I used the Compact Deluxe app which is a Farfisa simulator, I sent that through an amp (Tonex app). All of this is on IPad

@@grantsolo It’s actually funny you say that, I’m currently working on the entire Magical Mystery album for Sunday (the anniversary). So Strawberry Fields will be included. I’m not so sure if I’m gonna finish in time for Sunday though, but definitely within less than a week.

I will say though, that ending is really tricky because there’s two mellotrons there I believe. So when I cover it, it will be a rough estimate of what was played there.

I did this on my IPad using the app called Iphilichordia which is free. I sent it through Tonex which is an amp simulator and I also free. With that set I added one more plug in which is the Spin app which is a Leslie cabinet simulator to make it sound even closer to a real organ. It does cost about 11$ but is very useful. From then on I messed with all the switches on the organ app and the amp settings to get closer to the sound. For the verses the organ has a long sustain and has vibrato through both the verses and choruses.

The chorus organ is the exact same app with the exact same plug ins added it just has (obviously) a different tone. It does not have a long sustain and the vibrato is more subtle.
