Because American Bulldogs are Worker dogs. They need the flaps on their ears to help keep out bugs and stick weed when they are going through the thicket. The Breed show should match the design of said breed.

@Jamaicanprincess87 there are two types, johnson and scott. most here are johnson, personally i prefer scott types. they are a little smaller, leaner and more athletic. also, their faces are not as "bulldoggy" but more "pitbully"

@peaner083 hi thanks very much for that info . a i have spoke to the people that have bred him and they said he is a hybrid . but has more scott in him but it is hard to tell at the minute as i have never had a AB before so i might get i video of him and post it on youtube to see what other people think of him . thanks again for the info its a great help chears b4m
